ParticipantOnce again, it was a great race. It seemed more like a National just having most the fast guys in Colorado coupled with top out of state talent.
It shows we have some pretty good racers here in Colorado as well.
It was great seeing friends again and Jim and crew really are polishing and tuning their ability to pull off excellent quality events!

ParticipantThat WAS a kick. Broken frame and all I just thoroughly enjoyed it. From BBQing with all different teams on Friday night to wrenching into the wee hours it was a kick. John Crow kept saying he wants to do it again and catch a couple local races. Kudos to IAN at DANGER CORNER, I not once worried about going through there blind and ALL corner workers did a fantastic job. How many more days till it’s run again?

12 days. GJ. Be there….. Or, give us your latest excuse Mike…
Nice thrash this weekend. When is it going to appear on “Chop-Cut-Rebuild”? You worked your butt off :bow

Hey I did all of those on his wiring harness while he was suiting up for the main! Or at least the chop and cut.
I also felt bad for Ronnie, he was in a position to go after a podium and his on/off switch came apart 50 yards past the start of the race.
Hope mylaps will be up soon?
That Masters class can have some great racing when more of the fast guys sow up!

ParticipantHey its all good I couldnt have been prouder of Ron ! Spent quite a bit of time tech and that was all good to because maybe some detractors will clam up.The tech director treated me first class a real decent guy, just following orders ! One real complaint was racers ignoring the yellow thats real bad business ! I know that the rules were enforced in masters but I saw many times where it wasnt. If we can swing it we will go to GJ besides keeping the rust off atMAD MAXS TRACK .It was a lot of work to get into the race but it was worth it, how many can say they passed John Crow in ablind corner and lead him a lap or so,that guy is smoooth jed

ParticipantRon:
Nice to see you again, and great to see a Biland out there. Your son looked really good!
And No Kidding, that #31 kart was so smooth as to look downright slow. That’s a trick few can attain.
Best to You and your son’s racing.

ParticipantWell, after spectating last year, I told myself that I had to race next year. I’m glad I did! Racing in downtown was a great experience, and just like last year, I met a bunch of people who just noticed the happenings when they were walking/biking/driving by and stopped in to check it out! A kart race with spectators outside of our own families? How cool is that? Jim, you and your crew raised the bar from last years event, and that’s saying something. It really felt like a ‘big-deal’ race. Oh, and the TV coverage doesn’t hurt either. Well done!
As for me, it could have gone better (could have gone much worse too). Only my 4th shifterkart race ever, and minimal practice meant I was in over my head. But I kept it out of the wall and had a blast just being a part of the racing. My onboard video is great (even from the back of the pack, i’ll post those later). I really hope this becomes a staple of CO Karting.
Now, time to rest, recover, and rebuild for Grand Junction in a couple weeks. :~

ParticipantSo, anyone have a mylaps link? I haven’t been able to find it, and I’m anxious to see who finished where (including myself 😆 ).

ParticipantWell now that my hands aren’t swollen anymore (I never wrenched as much as I did saturday and into the night) I have to give out a big THANK YOU to the following:
Chris Schureman; your generosity in getting me a beat up spare chassis from your warehouse and giving me something to use to race. It was either that or sitting on the sidelines watching. That will never be forgotten!
Rick Schmidt: telling me the past is just that, drive the Kart in the main and leave Saturday behind me and for locating the ignition wire short. How you identify things I don’t know but I swear you’ve made a deal with the Devil!
Kim Brewer, Marsha Holleran & Chrissy DeSanti: you fed me when I was way over my head wrenching on my broken kart! The food helped immensely!
Louis Velasquez: your generator and light gave me the ability to work into the night and I’d have never gotten ready. Thanks Amigo.
Jeff Field & AJ Noud: fine tuning the kart and getting that extra tenth.
Barry Lewis: Use of a 40mm axle to bend things and a tire machine to make my life easier.
Jim, Carolyn, Chris Egger, Josh, Ian and everyone else responsible for making this race possible!
And finally: The best class ANYONE could ever compete in, TaG Masters. None of us have Formula One, Indy or Nascar aspirations but after we all shake hands, pat each other’s back and the visors go down we race and we race HARD. Crow and Seeseman too. I’ve always said I would quit racing when the racing wasn’t fun and that possibly this would be my last season. After this race, faaaaaat chance!
I want to have anothe friday night BBQ but if it’s going to get any bigger I’m goign to need a bigger grill and additional help. Thanks everyone who participated in friday’s festivities. I missed Sushi with the gang but sure am glad we BBQ’s friday instead of saturday. FRiday BBQ is the new tradition!
