I believe the 4-race Fox broadcast series is over, and it’s now back to Speed (5:30 am):
Awesome, I did not know that. The first couple I missed because my DVR was only set to record F1 on Speed. Once I figured it out I watched the last two they played on Fox. They weren’t as bad as the ones you guys are describing though.
Now if we could just get Speed to air the HD feed, that’d be great.

In a months’ time I’ll be watching live at 5:30 am, tea in one hand and popcorn in the other.

I usually DVR the races to catch up on my beauty sleep, but this one will be worth getting up early for!

The last 3 or 4 races have been broadcast on Fox on Sundays at around 1:00 pm or so. They don’t air them on Speed until Wednesday or Thursday the following week. I suspect that it is preparation for the possible American team and that if one is feilded all the races will be broadcast on Fox.
So, beauty sleep for all, unless you’re watching a live feed on the computer.

The Rotax is a sealed package. In order to remain RMAX series legal it must remain sealed. To keep it legal an authorized dealer must do the rebuild work and reseal the engine. Of course you can always break the seal and do your rebuild work yourself. But if you do that you will not be RMAX legal and it will hurt the resale value of the engine. Unless, of course you have an authorized dealer do a rebuild, seal, and update your passport before you sell the engine.
Ohh, and could you please find your Caps Lock button and push it for us. All caps is a bit distracting when you’re trying to read.
Sorry about the caps thing, just a habit from work! I’ll have to see what BRP requires to get a cart cert, I’ve got the jet ski and atv certs! Hopefully I can get a kart cert!!!
No worries, that’s much better.
I’m not sure what it takes to be an authorized dealer/rebuilder. You might want to ask Shockwaver or IMI.

ParticipantAs the others have said, that Arrow/Rotax package is steal.

At first you’ll be “relying on the kindness of strangers” a fair bit.
Welcome! 8)
Luckily the strangers in karting community are about as kind to no0bs as you can find in motorsports.

ParticipantThere was one over off of I-70 around Colorado Ave about 6-7 years ago. It was a tight track but pretty damned fun. Using the Google I think it was called world karts. That’d be pretty fun for the winter time.

ParticipantI may give him a call to check out the costs. But to be honest my plate is pretty full. When I have LeMans type money I’ll stop worrying about the costs.
Regardless I’ll definately stop by to check it out.

ParticipantLooking at that breakdown it seems to be an even more expensive day than I had previouly thought. I look forward to the day I could afford to do something like this.

ParticipantGet well soon Rich, your surlyness is missed on the forums.

Ok, guys. If you are planning to come out on the 24th, please pre-register on the HPR site.

Enter the date 5/24/2009 and leave the vehicle as car.Glenn said he is getting pressure to have a bike or car day there instead. There are a lot more of them then there are of us, so please sign up if you have been planning to.
Was it the Wogrins that asked about Junior karters in the tread before it got nuked in the forum update? I still have no answer on that. I asked again.
I tried a while back and had issues with paypal not liking my card for some reason. I’ll make sure I get it done in the morning though so we can hopefully get it locked down.

Wow, Doug…you are on top of things, I was just going to email them and ask if Karts could come out to play. Sadly, the 951 won’t be trackable in time for this (might need a steering rack, among other things), but I have a set of sticky Yokohamas that i can put on my daily-driven, 190k mile 3-series BMW that would still give me some smiles. It is $150, though…that’s almost a new set of race tires (and i’m still unemployed)!
They need to let the Karts come out and play so we can whet our appetite for big-track road racing. :devil
Regardless, i’ll still be out there, whether it is to just watch or play. If you haven’t been out to HPR yet, get yer butt in your car and drive out there, what a track! :driver
I got this response.
Thanks for the inquiry. I regret to inform you that we have not made plans to have karts at the First Tracks event in March. Based on demand, we would always consider a “kart only” lapping day, and we are exploring the possibility of a karting event, or race, at the track this year.
Kart races are great events and have played a integral role in the activities at road race tracks around the country. We look forward to working with the karting community to develop an ongoing relationship for competition events at HPR.
So not for this one, but it sounds promising in the future. And you’re probably right about the cost as well. I think I will try to go check it out though.

ParticipantI got an email about a track day for founding contributers on the 28th. I don’t know if anybody here had contributed but figured I’d post it up in case.
I emailed them back asking wether or not karts would be allowed for this track day, we’ll see what the reply is. I know Peak Eurosports is listed as a founding sponsor for the track, so maybe they can put some leverage on them to let some of us out there.
Mr Romenesko, you taking the 944 out for this? Since I no longer have a viable tin top car to take out for this my previous offer of beer or gas still stands if they don’t let karts out for this one. 😀

No, there still is the $40 one time annual registration fee if you want to be counted for the season points. No bogus license fee’s, rabbi shots, green card, hard card required.
Yeah, I see that on the sheet now. I guess I should’ve opened my eyes a bit better first.
Good to hear I don’t have to pay for the dog to hang out in the truck though.

Doug Haner
ParticipantBrad, I’m assuming that there is no season fee for your club races then.
Only the race and pit fees included in the “IMI/TheClub Series Bundles?”
