ParticipantWell this is interesting. Saw an AD in a bar downtown over the weekend…
Looks like a new indoor karting track to me. My understanding is that there used to be one in the Denver area a number of years ago, but that was before I got into the sport. Opening summer 2009? Hey…that’s now! 😆
Anyone know anything more about this? Indoor Karting is a hoot, i’d love to have a local track! 😀

ParticipantThere was one over off of I-70 around Colorado Ave about 6-7 years ago. It was a tight track but pretty damned fun. Using the Google I think it was called world karts. That’d be pretty fun for the winter time.

ParticipantYep, it was on the north side of I-70 just east of Colorado. WorldKarts of Belgium took over the track a few years back, but it closed down not long thereafter. I always thought Denver’s facility was too small, but maybe that’s because I didn’t know how to get around it quickly.
I’ll be interested to see what these new folks are cooking up. As long as they’re not electric karts!

ParticipantI talked to the owner yesterday, they will be electric karts (fast, reliable). He is hoping to open at the end of the summer.

I think there are several options for his location, he sounded like he was waiting for other things to fall into place (maybe financing?) but the plans seem to be well in hand. I had him add me to his email list for info and told him to post here to help get the word out. I also dropped a hint that advertising here would be a GREAT idea.

ParticipantI think the owner has joined our midst – so look for some information soon!

Electric, huh? Well that’s no fun…what do you mean that customers don’t want to breathe in the fumes of burned gasoline in an enclosed space?! :loony:
Electric motor torque is fun, though.
There are already some electric karts at Mr. Biggs in Littleton. The track is set up on the old skating rink, so there isn’t really room for them to stretch their legs…

ParticipantYou have to put cards on the spokes?
Remember, I’m old school.

ParticipantIVE DONE ALOT OF CONSESSION KART DRIVING EXSPECIALLY AT THE OLD TRACK ON I-70 & COLORADO, BUT I DONT BELIVE THAT THIS IS RELATED TO THAT TRACK IN ANY WAY. THE ORGINAL COMPANY WAS SPEEDWORLD GP (I STILL HAVE THE OLD LICENSE FROM IT!). THAT PLACE WAS GREAT FOR INDOOR UNTIL IT WAS BOUGHT OUT.

ParticipantRemember this thread? Well it looks like Speed Raceway is moving forward and will be opening soon!
Good thing too. I don’t know about anyone else, but its been so damn cold out that i’ve been getting cabin fever! :loony:
Oh look, isnt it right down the street from another kart track?

ParticipantYou bet!!! The Track has been working closely with Howard and the management of the center getting ready for the new season. Cant wait for all the new possibilities of karting on the southeast side of town, cross promotion, etc…
