ParticipantBob Varsha said that the announcing team have no say so in the direction of FOX because it has to fit a certain time limit window and include commercials. Thank God it’s over and we can go back to live racing, practice and quali on the same channel!
FYI… the iPhone application that Machette was plugging is nice. 3-D (okay, really a 2 D direction of coloured dots around the track) showing positions is a really NICE addition to the live timing sectors shown live on the official F1 website. pricey at 26.00 but for the true fans… I guess another reason to date someone with an Iphone or get one yourself!

Participantda flooz doesn’t have an iPhone. It’s a toy IMO and a Blackberry is for the businessman. Crash Sandi’s got the iPhone.

One of the races on Fox (Turkey?) had them spontaneously breaking away to a commercial for a few seconds TWICE IN THE FIRST LAP. They’d also show a commercial instead of the reconnaissance lap, somewhat cutting down on the dramatic tension.
And let’s not forget Fox cutting away to extended home videos of hailstones during the last lap and returning to the race just in time for the checkered flag! 👿 At that point, I decided to boycott the remaining Fox broadcasts and wait for the Speed replays on Tuesdays….

I believe the 4-race Fox broadcast series is over, and it’s now back to Speed (5:30 am):
Awesome, I did not know that. The first couple I missed because my DVR was only set to record F1 on Speed. Once I figured it out I watched the last two they played on Fox. They weren’t as bad as the ones you guys are describing though.
Now if we could just get Speed to air the HD feed, that’d be great.

ParticipantNow that’s irony, he has been a pain in the neck to so many other F1 drivers, now he has a pain in his neck. Motorcycles are simply no good for anyone.

ParticipantLol…nice observation Curt! 😆
Kind of dissapointed now, I was really revved up to see shu back at it. I guess you can’t drive a F1 car through a neck injury. Well, fast anyways…
