ParticipantMoving forward, all our information, forms, local rules, schedule and other announcments can be found at http://www.superkartsusa.com under the SKUSA MR banner.
I will continue posting on The Karter as well, but all the National news and points will be kept on the SKUSA site.
Thanks,

ParticipantLooks like we have an official class with the amount of people who have signed up for a free motor. Sounds like Vortex will be sending in a factory tuner to set the motors up for our altitude as well for our first Regional race in June.
We still have 4-5 motors left to claim on a first come basis. Motors will be distributed on Tuesday before the race so you will have time to mount them properly, and collected after the main on Sunday in Grand Junction.
Thanks,

Stacy, I have a 60% off sale for all my used talent. It has quite a few hours on it and will need a fresh top and bottom end.
You need to remind Stacey that is is also fresh off the CLIT tour as well :barf

ParticipantTom,
The 4-stroke TAG & Shifter packages are local options only. Bring them out to any of our scheduled races and we will run them. Like I stated in a previous post, if there at least (5) in any class we will support them for a regional championship. Less than (5) and we will make sure you run a full race day and go home tired. Please remember however, if any motor package, or class is not recognized in the 2011 SKUSA rulebook, they will not be allowed to run at any of the Pro Tour events. It tentatively sounds like there will be at least (3-5) 4-Stroke shifters in GJ at round #1. This will someday be the standard in shifter motors, and there is a good local effort gaining some momentum. Colorado has always been at the forefront in 4-stroke karting motor packages, and there are a bunch of them just sitting on shelves around the state. Mount them up, and bring them out. We will always welcome them, and PPKRC has supported them from day 1 as well.
Thanks,

ParticipantJoe,
Great questions, and here is my 6am reply to them.
First the bumpers: All of karting is moving to the full width bumper for the main reason being safety. The new homolagation of every kart next year will carry full width bumpers and it’s something that is going to happen anyway. I have mixed emotions on them, but will comply to the new rules. With the weight we need to add to our race craft you may just see Matt out there with a railroad tie bolted to his frame.Second the tires: In order for anything to grow it takes sales. The new tire will enable SKUSA and the SKUSA Regions an opportunity to generate the cash necessary to produce quality races, with quality workers. I do not have all of the specifics, and do not want to say something today that will put my foot into my mouth. I can do that very well without the help of karting.
Look at it this way please, you need to purchase tires to race, the new MG-SK White will perform at the same level, mount the same, and look the same. You should be able to get more laps out of them according to the reports, and they just may be cheaper than the Yellows. You will be able to purchase these from your current MG dealer, and they too will also have the opportunity to generate some cash for their growth. I do not see any issues with this tire. There are still many details that need to be worked out in the Mountain Region before this tire hits the shelves. We are working on them daily. If you talk to any MG dealer today they will all tell you they have heard nothing out of us. Time will tell how this will all work out.
Thanks for your questions,

That commercial’s been on my hard drive for over 3 years. I still listen to it when i’m having a bad day. At least then you have a smile on your face! Thanks again Curt…
Mike,
Very pretty new girlfriend. I saw her pic on facebook, proud of you man….BTW, have you told her how fast you are in a kart, or is there still time for a truthful relationship with her? Just wondering here. Have fun buddy, see you soon.

ParticipantI logged out, then back in this morning and it told me there are 565 new posts. Prior to logging out it said 53, but in reality I was up to date and it should have said 0. I also found a PM when logging back in that was sent on the 4th of December.
Rod, I will have an answer to your question ASAP. Was not ignoring you.

Roger,
Sounds interesting. Has your testing on the infield track provided any ideas about gearing?
Joe,
I can assure you the testing that was done by the PPKRC did not represent the speeds that Pat will carry with his skills and equipment. Our testing would have had you at a GJ base line and as rubber got laid down, you guys could have removed 2-3 teeth.
The revised track sounds like it has been shortened, narrowed, and kinked to slow everybody down, which is a good call. Lap times will be in the 30-40 second range for Pat.
Have fun.Curt Kistler
ParticipantHow about both of them on page #53 Kirk?
Sorry, you are still hung up on page #51, I should have known….. 😯

That WAS a kick. Broken frame and all I just thoroughly enjoyed it. From BBQing with all different teams on Friday night to wrenching into the wee hours it was a kick. John Crow kept saying he wants to do it again and catch a couple local races. Kudos to IAN at DANGER CORNER, I not once worried about going through there blind and ALL corner workers did a fantastic job. How many more days till it’s run again?
12 days. GJ. Be there….. Or, give us your latest excuse Mike…
Nice thrash this weekend. When is it going to appear on “Chop-Cut-Rebuild”? You worked your butt off :bow

ParticipantDude,
Is that a cell phone in your pocket, or………?Way to go Bob! Good seeing you and Ronnie having fun with the gang.
Curt Kistler
ParticipantGood luck out there Doug and Greg. I hope by now you have figured out the troubled areas and the transponders are reporting good news. Just keep the momentum up for the entire weekend.
With no disrespet, perhaps the fastest Rotax drivers are all there, but the fastest shifter drivers are all in Wisconsin. It will be intersting to see how thin both events get with the unfortunate scheduling two major events on the same weekend.
Run hard, and stay away from those aggressive contact mongers…..
