I think the karters should poll the track owners to find out what their goals really are, other than the obvious.
I’m not a track owner, or part of the CSC board, or a SKUSA/STARS/WKF/IKF……anything. Just a dad with a kid that wants to race. Having said that, I feel we need a hard written set of rules, trained officials, timely ran events, safe racing, and all on a level playing field.
Why is it Action Karting sells MG tires and Sonoco fuel, IMI sells Brigstone tires and whatever is in the tank outside, Stacey sells his brand of tires and VP fuel? Why don’t all you owners cut deals with the same fuel vendor, same tire manufacturer, and look forward to seeing a professionally trained crew come to your track to produce professional level karting? That is what SKUSA brings to the table.
You can still do what you want to do for club racing. No one can govern what you do at your club races on your property, it’s just that when 160 racers show up, I believe we all want the same results at the end of the day.
With SKUSA rules for the classes that apply, you all have to pump VP fuel, Brigstone tires, and there is a certain amount of bargaining power associated if you are supplying the tires and fuel. Get together and set your deals with the tire mfg and VP, sell it to us, and make your profits.
Why is this taking so long? Why so much brain damage? Blah Blah Blah
It’s getting pretty close to the annual meeting date graciously hosted by Blink at IMI, and we have nothing. I agree that only a few of us voice our opinion on this forum, however, thousands look at from in and out of state.

One other point of not having proper tech. We ran the CSC 80 Jr in ’04 at all of the events, even though like Doug said it was decided by the SSGP. At both IMI/CSC events last year, two 80 Jr. teams were allowed to run with their P1 boxes that were not allowed by the CSC rules. These guys are friends of ours and this is not meant to throw darts at them, however, with their added power to our spec package it did make a difference in the outcome of the season for us. I do not, and will not pay money to race in these conditions this year. How do we fix it? See above.

Matt said thanks to all, and he is feeling better. Maybe now I can have the rest of his pain meds 😕

Back to Jim’s original post that I sent into a different direction :rotate:

The decision by Jim to take the helm of the SKUSA Mountain Regional President will allow us a huge opportunity to run Pro Moto races at the local tracks, temp or established facilities, without spending alot of money on travel. We can now run the events within our region, perhaps run down to Texas or out to Vegas when the travel bug hits, and then have two large events at the end of the season to size up our kart and driver against the rest of the best.
We look forward to learning more about the Mountain Region races with respect to the Denver Grand Prix, Colorado Springs Street race, Black Rock Utah, The Track @ Centennial and who knows what else Mr. Keesling has up his sleeve. 😀

Thanks again for taking the risk Jim, and I am sure there will be plenty of local teams to support your efforts. At lest there has to be some Colorado boys that want to go out to Utah and return the favor of kicking their butts. :idn:

Way to go Jim!!! I know you have been working this deal for a long time now and it was not a last minute desision. This gives us the sanctioned rule book we have been requesting, with no exclusions, inclusions or seperate track addendums.

Good news, bad news for us…

We have been patiently waiting for this, along with others, to build our ’05 program.
Good news: We can now start tunning our RBI 80 shifter on dry days.
Bad news: We just got back from a family ski weekend / new years celebration, and Matt broke his leg trying to beat dad to the bottom of Keystone on our last run of the day 🙁

6 weeks in a cast!!! He is really bummed out, and in alot of pain. But not to worry, he will be back with some unfinnished business to take care of.

Happy New Year to all, and to Team Billet and Team RBI, we will be in touch real soon. :sun:

We were checked in Vegas for head volumn for just winningf a LCQ! The tools were right there in the tent, just to the right of the door. While we were having our head volumn checked the other two places, second and third were having fuel checked.
Even though this seemed a little bit much for a LCQ, it showed us they were looking, and finding the out-of-spec motors.
Purchasing tires as part of the entry fee took all the guesswork out of tire compound, however I guess the savy cheaters could still dope if they wanted to take the risk.

Bottom line. I liked the tech, and cudos to Barry Lewis for setting our head volumn right on the line.

Have you talked with Janowski? It does not make sense to me that the Jr. classes along with the novice 125 class will need to pay you anything. If SKUSA needs help to grow I am sure you have the upper hand as a track owner. Give it a try, and keep the glass half full for us waiting to get our 05 campaign built and on your track tunning.

    Just released on http://www.ekartingnews.com
While SKUSA in re-inventing themselves they have included Colorado into the Mountain Region, as in the past. In order to race at their World Finals and Supernational events you must participate in 50% of their regional events, and be in the top ten in regional points to be able to enter into these events.
Question: How do you race SKUSA Regional events without adopting their written rules and conforming to their standards?
Is our SKUSA Regional President going to get more involved?
Do we now go to Black Rock in force and challenge them to come here?

    Just wondering here.

    Mitch, Brian & Larry….
    Ditto..
It helps to have a black and white set of rules that has been written by organizations who have already made all the big mistakes. Although no set of rules is perfect, we could at least have someone to step-in so we don’t have another Ullstrom disappointment. We have been there too and nothing hurts more than someones ego “hammering” your season.
I am sure that the CSC board will do the right thing. We as consumers and racers just need to make sure we follow what’s printed, set-up our karts to conform, and go have fun.

Not trying to be a smart a## here, but why are you asking us? I thought the CSC board had the 05 schedule all worked out. :rotate:
    Anyway:
We too like the GJ race on the 4th of July with the extra day being on Monday next year. I assume the race will be on Sat & Sun the 2nd & 3rd?? And travel home on the 4th…
We also like to blow things up in your back pit area.
If we did that on this side of the mountain, we would all end up in jail. Including that little pyro kid, Morgan Jones 😯

Watch all of the G1/Senior Heavy shifter dudes sell their stuff now. Better widen your entry door a few inches Blink, here they all come to buy that motor package.
Buy the way, how much are those rockets? I have this friend who is kind of heavy, likes to race, oh never mind 😳

Did SKUSA ans Stars release their 2005 schedule yet? I have not seen them and that is what the CSC gang is waiting for.
I appreciate the fact that they don’t want to schedule any pro moto stuff on top of the CSC.
With mother nature being a total b*#@% right now, and the rest of the winter looking rough, don’t get too excited about The Track opening in March. Jim is going to build the layout properly so we don’t have to worry about major bumps when the ground thaws.
WB2 can care less about our sport. I have connections, trust me on this one. Don’t rule out other local channels however. DC8 is possible along with Altitude and local 5 for starters.
