I have talked with Joe about this subject not long ago but he now has chosen to ignore my phone calls. Joe even told me he was coming to Denver in two weeks to discuss the SKUSA situation on his way back from a similar meeting in Texas when I was in Vegas, he has not contacted me since. Joe made it perfectly clear that all racers would have to pay the fees. As you know many regions are attempting to put together a series similar to ours with the cooperation of the area tracks. This is why SKUSA is scrambling to salvage what is left of what was a decent regional program that was ignored when all of their effort was put into the promoto tour. They soon realized that the regional programs were the backbone of SKUSA and now they are mostly gone and this is a last ditch attempt to regain what was lost. Joe has talked with Sam and with Biran about what he wants to do in this region from what I have heard but Sam and Biran are not the only people he should be talking to. Time is running out for him to make a real proposal, as we will be wrapping up the CSC situation by the end of January. The track owners have had a number of meetings so far and we are well into the process of defining the classes and rules for next year. As always we welcome suggestions from the racers and do listen to what is stated on this forum. It is impossible to make everyone happy but we will do our best for the majority of racers in the CSC series in Colorado.

    Hey Brad,

How about what the racers want and not what you want for a change? If the racers want it and you don’t, then refuse to run it at your track. Be another CRE last year. You seemed to harp the same thing to George last year when he didn’t come over to the CSC.

I thought we were electing a person to lead the CSC and help in these matters. What happened to that?

Brad, listen to what the racers want. Your not the only game in town anymore.

Brad to answer your question about how can it be cheaper. Here it is two full race days with more laps, and a full practice day $175.00 at Stars of Karting. They also tech two items at random on the kart after qual, pre-final, final on the top 5 in each. The only thing that makes it more expensive is the travel and missing days of work. They even provide a schedule and they adhere to it. Smoothly run and if your cheating you will get caught no ifs ands or butts.

Correct me if I’m wrong but to run TAGUSA/ SKUSA rules all you need to do is download them off the internet. If you want to run a SKUSA regional series then the racers would need to pay but otherwise not. Most all races are run under WKA/IKF/SKUSA rules but they are not sanctioned races or Regional series. If the people want real rules from a national organisation then just adopt them and quit creating bogus rules that not inline with any national org. it’s not that tough. And yes if you want to run a regional race that is sanctioned by a national org. then it’s not out of line to pay them for the priviledge. I’m for A National Set of Published Rules. If the classes aren’t covered by one then use SKUSA/WKA or just WKA because they now run TAGUSA/SKUSATAG rules for all their sprint stuff.

It sounds like everyone is for clearer rules and it appears the CSC leadership is working hard on that. I think the sancitioning is a separate question. I raised the issue a few months ago as a new comer and it is still not clear to me what the advantages are and it there is some added value whether or not it is worth the cost. Doug did make some good points on his “I changed my mind” post. However, I think I might be changing my mind too. If one of the local track owners is calling and leaving messages with one of the leaders of a national organization and is not getting his calls returned – enough said. If they are ignoring a track owner then they will certainly ignore the racers. Several months ago when I raised the question of sancationing someone PM’d me and asked me to contact the president of one of the oganizations which I did. I still have not heard anything back from that person. I, for one, don’t want to add to the high cost of racing if the national organization doesn’t do anything other than collect money. It would appear the greed lies within the sancitioning bodies. I would think any national organization would be all over any interest shown by others including returning calls, attending meetings, discussing benefits, etc. If it is true that they don’t have any interest in us than we shouldn’t have any interest in them. Just my two cents worth.

I had zero problems contacting I.K.F. when my son used to race at CRE. There is a good reason that “KING GEORGE” is now with WKA. IKF dropped him for not running by their rules, and not applying to use local option. Even if he had applied to use local option IKF informed me they would not approved what he was running. In fact if someone would like me to see just how easy it is to become a IKF or WKA sanctioned track I volunteer to contact and get the information. I have the president of I.K.F.’s home and personnal cell phone number at hand.
