I have been reading the post’s about MG’s, spec tires, club rules vs. CSC rules…
Having run on nothing but Brigstone YHC, and on occasion YHB’s, for over three years now I have been very PRO-Brigstone. I was a little upset that we were going to “have to purchase” another tire for SKUSA/CSC rules.
Well, after sneaking up to GJ last weekend and testing under full race trim, I broke down and bought a set of MG yellow’s. Both Team Doghouse Pro karts ran over 100 laps, at weight, spec fuel and oil, yada yada yada…
Now I’m pissed at Brigstone!!!!!! We have another 75-100 laps of rubber on our MG’s! What a surprise it was to get a good read on tire wear, have a driver actually come off the track with no tire issues, and have enough rubber left to go play another day.
Even the spec fuel, purchased at Big T was a treat. Motors ran great, plug was clean, piston was happy… All-in-all it was very successful day testing.
So far we are pleased with the rules, tires, fuel and weights. Just one teams opinion however, and I am sure some of you are not as pleased as us. Race day #1 is right around the corner, so go get some yellows and have fun.
See you at “The Track” soon.

Any wonder why we can’t find a “Tech Director”? 😯

    Mikey,
Step away from the Budwiser, your guy lost and my Dupont car blew right by you. I needed to cut the course after both you and Rich had to Home Depot me into the barriers!!!!!
This year will be different, you’ll see buddy.

Thanks for the kind words Kirk. It was great meeting you and your future heart breaker daughter. What a cutie! I cannot think of another way of spending time with my son. Karting has made him who he is, and I appreciate your compliments about him.
Nice to see more and more passionate people getting into karting. I am sure you will soon meet new friends and be running up front with the type of questions you were asking. Dave and Bret will take good care of you in the Easy Kart program.
People often mistake me for Keesling! Until they see me drive a kart :idn:
You will soon find out what the difference is at the next “Tuner Challenge” when I blow by Mike Edwards!!!!!!
Anyway, thanks again and please come around again. Be sure to check in with all the Colorado Karting support shops like Billet, Shockwave, CRE, Action, DNA and IMI. It’s always amazing to me how so many different personalities can all come together on race day and just have fun.

    See you at “The Track”.

Good meeting and turnout last night. I came away with two thoughts.
    1) Please do not add weight to the ICC motors. Take weight off the moto motors if any weight adjustments are made. Keep the Pro ICC weight in line with SKUSA rules. (My back is killing me.) :idn:
    2) Just tech the fuel on the first 3-5 finishers after the pre main and main events. I think if everyone understands fuel will be tested prior to any podiums, this will keep the day moving. Or, have a roving/randum fuel test by Big T throughout the day. Use the same test SKUSA uses. It is fast and accurate. Not the system that needs to be dunked in special chemicals and calibrated. This test has proven to be very time consuming and inaccurate, especially on hot days.

    I’m Done. Let’s Race!!!! 👿

    One Question Jim:
Why couldn’t you go the wrong way with your set-up last year on a race or two? 😆

Thanks for the update, and good luck on the third and final round.

Where do you stand in points?

    Thanks,
    Curt

They ran in the 60 shifter class and won everything in State and Regionaly with SKUSA. Then went into the 80 Jr. Shifter class and kicked some serious butt in State and throughout the US. Just missed the National Championship by a couple of points in ’03.
Ace and his father Glenn are very competitive and goal oriented. Watch for them in the future.

Great Job Ace, very exciting to watch.

What’s next for the local hero now? Can’t wait to see him in a CHAMP car on a road course.

    Rich,
I have a $175.00 suit for you. You will need to remove the exterior and interior skid marks however 😳

Buyer beware when spending that little on the suit that will protect you on hot asphault at 80+mph.

Barry’s record speeks for itself. He supports the local racer on and off the track better than any operation I have seen. Without his knowledge and support we would still be wondering what a podium looks like from the top.

Now there are options in Co for you Rotaxians from people who have built motors of all kinds for over twenty years. Don’t be one of the many racers in your class watching the Billet tuned bullets going around you this year. Be the one going around 😆

    Stacey,
They are cool to watch when they slide those things around the tight turns at high speeds.
    However:
They make the day longer, put dirt on the karting surface, and the typical motard racer does not like to associate with us karters. Other than that they put additional bucks in your pocket and keep the ambulance cost down.
Just a karter opinion. Brad and Bobby do a pretty good job of keeping the IMI club races moving on schedule. Or is it that timming & scoring person up in the booth? 🙄

Who was the tech director that let 3 80’s go race two different CSC races with P1 boxes? With or without a sanctioning body, this cannot happen again.
