ParticipantThe current pole is 20 – 10 in favor of a shorter race day. Saturday really is the prime time to practice prior to race day. You can go out on the track at a similar time and temp of day to simulate jetting and tire pressures to get a better feel of the shift and brake points you will be faced with on Sunday.
There are other points of consideration for a shorter race day. My mother for instance, has never missed a race in 9 years. She lives to watch Matt, and the others on our team race. She is 80 years old, and makes the trip up from Colorado Springs. I have never seen Ken and Angies parents, and grandparents, miss a race. They drive from miles North of IMI. There are plenty of little siblings there watching dad or their brothers and sisters race. There are folks from out-of-state that attend. And I have asked our sponsors to show up, just to watch them wait 2+ hours in the heat to watch the next session. We have to consider our spectators in a big way.
Racing kart’s is a major commitment to one’s time and money. This subject has been ongoing since we started racing. And that was back when there was only 6 classes to choose from. I am sure the track owners will make their decision based on this survey and the opinions of everyone posting comments. Like everything else in life, you can’t possibly make a decision that makes everyone happy. So in order to keep the mains at 20 laps prior to the afternoon rains, please shorten the morning, and let’s rock.

Personally I think a quick practice is good just to shake out the kart.
Or driver 😆

National Tech Director, Scott Evans will be here to do pre-tech on Saturday, July 21st and race day tech on Sunday, July 22.
All karts found in non-compliance will be scored DQ or penalties within in published rules. No exceptions. Thanks,
JimThis is awsome news. There is no better than Scott under any tech tent. I hope he looks hard at the stock motos also. He has his ways of finding things that others tend to overlook on a busy race day.
Check your stuff three times Rotax people. 😯

ParticipantThey said that the stolen kart was a “one-of-a-kind” :bs:
I was at Cosco the other day and saw a bunch of those TZ250 shifters with hand made pipes and custom motor mount’s. I picked one up for $450.00.
Jeeeezzzz, tell them news people to get the story straight 😀

ParticipantThanks for considering this Jim. Since the number of classes are not shrinking and we are still running races with 5 or less karts, this will help the day move on.
I am still on my band wagon for having less classes in this region promoting more seat time, larger fields, more exciting racing, trophies having some meaning, and a State Championship that was truley earned.See you this weekend.

ParticipantThe point result from round #2 suspense is building. There should have been a lot of changes in the standings.
Come on Angie, you got nothing better to do with all your spare time. :type:

You can always tell a race car driver who’s been injured severly. Watch them walk. Rick Mears, AJ Foyt, Davey Hamilton, Buddy Lazier to name a few…
Don’t forget about the local hero’s:
Ricky “Boobie” Schmidt…
Curt “Big Daddy” K after the scooter incident at the GGP. (You can stop laughing now Ben, Jim, Mark, Matt…) It still hurts BTW.Curt Kistler
ParticipantOK, nobody else will talk about it so I will.
We were out on Saturday and the track surface is awsome smooth. Matt was flying around on green asphalt at CSC speeds and times. Records will fall this summer as rubber gets laid down.
The hill is very sharp at the top allowing all four to come up at the apex. We ran clockwise Saturday and the air time was minimal. Counter Clockwise is going to be very tricky for the faster karts as they will be in mid air when they should be setting up for the lefty. Time will tell and I am sure Brad is aware of this.
We had a good test session even with those pesky two wheel things on track at the same time. Thanks Brad for the investment. We now have three of the best tracks in the country in our state. Hats off to all of the track owners.

They follow us with Margarita’s long enough. Anyone would be able to score![/quote]
Not everyone, Jansen would still need a C note :idn:

Curt, you lie and I’ll swear to it! :monkey
You got it partner. We just need to figure out a way to score a zero on that par 3 Stacey aced last year and we are home free 😆 If we can get Lucy and Deb to follow us with the Margarita Kart we can shoot just about any score. :oOo

ParticipantHey Mike,
Hope all is well out West! You missed a great event with lot’s of on-track action. You are looking at the exit of turn #1 where some of the faster karts were getting all 4 off the ground 4-8″. Right after the landing there was a chicane(sp) that was very fast and collected many racers over the 2 days of track time.
We were one of the luckier teams with Matt only bending: (1) steering column, (1) axel, and (1) brand new +$450.00 radiator just mounted on Friday. $$$$$$$$$Ouch 😯
All of our mis-haps were the work of inexperienced shifter pilots that just ran out of talent at the wrong time. We had a blast none the less.
Missed You,
And Take Care.Curt Kistler
ParticipantDoes this mean that turn #1 at the GGP will be properly shaped? 😀
Just pullin your chain Dougie.
Congrats to Jeff. I know the school and it was no cake walk to get thru his studies.
Have a safe trip.
