ParticipantRichard,
I hope you can make some of the races at IMI. It would be great to have more TaG Master entries.

ParticipantI bought my kart last year and had it shipped from Southern Calif. Andy Seeseman at Full Throttle Karting mounted a seat in it and shipped it for me. I think it cost about $350 for shipping. The price Andy found was better than any I came up with. You might want to have your kart taken to his shop and shipped from there – I seem to remember that the rates were cheaper if shipped from a business. Andy’s number is 714-289-0432.

ParticipantI think that teardowns of sealed motors really defeats the purpose for sealed motors. I would like to see protests against sealed motors extend no further than to verify that the motor is properly sealed. If this is not acceptable and sealed motors are going to be torn down, then if the motor is found to be legal, the owner should be reimbursed for the costs of resealing the motor. Races shouldn’t be won through protest economic warfare.
I am very sorry that Doug and his sons took the brunt of this problem. Doug has always answered my dumb questions gladly and he builds good products. The Welches performance is pushing us all to a higher level. I hope they continue to run TaG.
There have been a lot of comments on this thread. How can we get the protest policies changed?

ParticipantI’ve been using the Czech CZ chains that are sold by Andy Seeseman of Full Throttle Karting (714)289-0432. They don’t seem to stretch as much as other chains I tried. I used one for 7 outings and it was still working well – I only replaced it because I was afraid to push my luck and break it.

ParticipantLast weekend was my first race at GJMS and I really enjoyed it. Everyone there was really helpful and did their best to run the races efficiently. So, thanks to everybody at GJMS.
The TAG Master race was really competitive and it was exciting to run close and try to pass.

ParticipantIt looks like the TaG Master class was left off of the registration form. How do we get it added on?

ParticipantI’d like to run in Colo Springs, but IMI is my local track and I want to support it, so I’ll be running at IMI this weekend.

ParticipantI use a Computech weather station. I read the alt dens and make my jet selection based on that. I have built up a database by noting when the jetting is rich, right on, and lean. I plotted those readings using Excel. I just take the alt dens reading and see where it falls on my plot printout and use the indicated jet. It seems to work pretty well.

ParticipantI bought these pieces from Speedquest at the beginning of the year and $60 sounds like about what I paid for them. I haven’t had any problems with these gears yet, but that’s probably because I keep breaking everything else! Several of my kart buddies in California have had problems with broken gears, though.

ParticipantOops, I just realized that date conflicts with another race I want to run, so I’ll have to skip Colo Springs. Sounds like fun, though.

ParticipantI’d like to run the event.

ParticipantI would be very disappointed if I have to run my Rotax at less than 385 lbs. 385 is really difficult for me to make as is (in prime condition I weigh at least 200 lbs) and if the weight is lowered another 10 or 20 lbs, I will have no chance to be competitive. If there are enough entrants to have a heavy class at 385 or more that would be OK, but I would prefer to race against a larger field where everyone is running at the same weight limits. I realize this is tough for lighter drivers who have to add weight, and I do have sympathy for the setup and kart weight problems they would have, but a lighter weight would be more than just an inconvenience for me – it would make it impossible for me to compete.

ParticipantI would prefer to see the TaG karts to run as they came out of the box for a couple of reasons. I may want to run Rotax races and I don’t want to have to keep changing the kart to different sets of rules to be legal and competitive.
Also, one of the reasons I bought the Rotax is that they are tightly regulated in order to increase the competitiveness of the class and minimize the expenses. Liberalizing the rules would defeat this purpose.

ParticipantI plan to run the TAG SR class with a Birel/Rotax. I may also do Rotax Max races.
