Just got home. REEEAAALLLY enjoyed the 4 hour drive from Silverthorne. The brakes got hot holding the beast back on the hill into Georgetown and had to stop for a bit to let them cool.

Did the Cooks do a great job of what! The racing program moved along and finished at a very respectable hour. I think they did a great job and I hope you guys do also.

Thanks to everyone who made it over. The racing was very high quality, as we have come to expect in the state series. It is just a ball to see so many karts in each class. Did you see the size of the kid kart class! That speaks very well for the future of the sport.

Thanks again to all who raced and thanks to the Cooks for making us feel so welcome.

I have to say, it was a great job by all the staff at GJ. I come to expect that from JB, Brad and the Cook’s.

Racing was very competitive, and your right the Colorado contingent should all be proud, we may very well be the top region in the country.

Thanks guys–Stacy I love going counterclockwise at your track!

    😀

OH man, that was crazyyyyyyy, never thought that somone could discuss the second amendment at a race track for three hours, and that we could light fireworks with a torch without blowing ourselvs up. Doug (swann) we gotta do that again at bandimere, maybe go up to the speedway and watch the drags.

Congrats to Doug and is boys for a awsome display in the tag senior class, You guys “ROCK” !!!! You bring racing in this class to the next level and will push us all to go faster and tune better. I hope that you guys will start to have fun again and this was a GREAT start. 🙂

As for the three hour discussion on gun control and lighting fireworks with a blow torch, sponsered by Miller Highlife, I will have to take the 5th :idn: :idn:

What an AWESOME weekend!! Thanks for all the help from everyone, especially Swann and the Cooks. They stayed untill 1 A.M. Sunday to get a new motor on my kart for me, just to see me seize another piston during break in. Thanks again, see ya at the next few CSC races.

On behalf of the GJMS crew we would like to thank everyone for their support and help with making it a great event. Please let us know what we need to work on to improve or change things to make it better for all. It is our goal to promote the best and most organized events possible. It takes the help of all the drivers (who did a great job )to make that happen and everyone was really great this weekend. We had a few fires that were heated at times but that is part of it and people just let the heat of the moment get to them, not a big deal and we are all still friends and competitors. Thanks again to all and please let us know what we can do to make it even better…

Last weekend was my first race at GJMS and I really enjoyed it. Everyone there was really helpful and did their best to run the races efficiently. So, thanks to everybody at GJMS.

The TAG Master race was really competitive and it was exciting to run close and try to pass.

First off, I think Brad Linkus deserves a huge Thank You for generously lending his transponders to GJMS for the event. That meant enough to go around, so we did not have to deal with getting a new one each time out on the track. That certainly helped the pregrid process move along. The event schedule ran pretty smooth, and I commend the Cooks and their crew for that.

We experienced one of those ?heated fires? that Stacey mentioned, although we have since cooled off just a bit. Lessons learned the hard way. As a parent, it is extremely hard to watch your kid?s frustration over something that was not completely his fault. I hope that there are notes taken and discussions had, so that these particular problems are eliminated from future events. I must say that Stacey and Darren are both very patient people, dealing with upset drivers and parents empathetically.

On another note, I brought home the race results on a disk, thinking it would save me the time it takes to retype it all. Problem is now I cannot get my computer to decipher the information. Jim Cook is faxing the hard copies later today, and I will be posting points and results as soon as I can! Thank you for being patient with me.

I always enjoy talking to people at the races. The CSC races seem to get more enjoyable as we get to know everyone better each time!

See you all at Action Karting on August 8th for Round #5!!

It was nice to finally make it over after hearing about the track for a while now. I had a great time. It’s definately one of the nicest tracks I’ve been on in a while.

To the Welch’s I had a great time racing with you guys and am looking forward to more races in the future, as Ben said its only going to push the rest of us harder.

So for those of us who weren’t able to make the race, can anyone give some details? I thought all day about it while wine tasting in Northern Cal. In other words, it was killing me not to be there.

Glad to see everyone had such a good time,

    Tom

My thanks to the Cooks. They always put on a good show and I agree they are the most patient people I have run across. Thanks again for the weekend and putting up with me in one of those heated momoents. I believe I apologized to the appropriate parties and if not here you go an official one in writing.

Tom, you should of come on over, we have some great vineyards here in Grand Junction.. Zinby, everything is fine, know harm done, we all say things in the heat of the moment that we sometimes regret but when people can apologize that says alot about someones character, You are welcome here anytime and we sure can use your help and input on getting the comer 50 rules set in stone. Great turnout and I think the kids really liked the 4th of July trophies..
