ParticipantI’ll be running TaG Master in the CSC series again. I’ll also run IMI TaG Master races. I may try some Rotax Max races.

ParticipantThe Rotax ignition and battery system works fine. I’ve got 2 batteries, both almost 1 1/2 years old. I keep them charged up and I always swap batteries before qualifying and leave it that way for the races. I’ve never had any problems.
As for nothing else using this system, this is exactly what I used to do in Formula Vee where we removed the generator for weight and performance reasons. If anything, the Rotax is better in this regard because the batteries last longer than the ones in my FV.

ParticipantHey Rich,
Thanks for the report.
You missed a good race at IMI last weekend. I was so far ahead of Mike that he pretended to get a flat and pulled off.

ParticipantNothing obviously wrong with what you did. The battery, though certainly sounds suspect. Also check your float level valve in the carb to make sure it moves freely, and the prongs on the valve should be parallel to the base of the carb when you hold it upside down. You might also want to check all your electrical connections to make sure they’re tight and make sure you’ve got a good ground connection.

ParticipantMike’s just been kidding around. He says he’s going to win this weekend and that proves he’s just joking.

ParticipantGreat. Mike’s gonna help fill the TaG Master field at IMI, but now Rich leaves!

ParticipantAngie,
Thanks. It’s a lot of work to post all of these items and you always do a great job.
Rich, I knew you’d understand. :look

ParticipantHi Angie,
I think there is a mistake in TaG Master points. Rich Vito’s totals don’t show a dropped race, which would be 115 points less for Rich.
Rich, sorry to point this out but after all it is a competition!

ParticipantI bought a nitrogen setup from a welding supply place in Boulder. With the tank, regulator, hose, nitrogen charge ($40 to fill) and fittings it came to about $250.

ParticipantDoug,
Thanks for the info.
Rich,
Sorry your wife isn’t going to make it. Maybe we can get together for dinner one night.

ParticipantI have to agree. That was the most intense kart race I’ve been in yet. Everybody drove really hard and clean. There was always someone on the front, back, and sides of me.
cgordon
ParticipantIf the kart hasn’t been run for a long time, the floats may be stuck. Remove the carb, disassemble it and clean everything, then put it all back together. This happened to me when I first tried to start my kart after it was shipped to me.

ParticipantWhere do you get VP MS93 in the Denver area? None of the tracks have it. Is RS7 available in the Denver area?
Thanks,
