InactiveI have to say I haven’t been in a race that was so close than the final in Masters. The close side by side racing was evident. Eventhough I was 9th it seemed like I was only 5-6 secs behind the leader.
This class is sure getting competitive.

ParticipantI have to agree. That was the most intense kart race I’ve been in yet. Everybody drove really hard and clean. There was always someone on the front, back, and sides of me.

ParticipantJeff will be doing a write up for SKI on the IMI race. He is supposed to highlight one class in his write up. He is going to highlight the Tag Masters class.

ParticipantFor me to choose one race to come and see what the CSC is all about, that was the one. You guys are all great. Thanks for the great race. I just wish I could join you at Steamboat. I hope to make more races next year.

Come on up to the ‘boat. The track will be much tighter and the other engines will be much stronger there. They will be able to get a little better low end punch than us Rotaxians so we will have to out drive them 😀
The type of racing you had this past weekend is what its been all season long. Good hard racing, fast guys and good sportsmanship. I think all the Tag Masters guys genuinly like each other and it shows with the respect they give each other on the track. Its whats racings all about.

ParticipantI’d love to make the race at the “boat” but I’ve been planning a huntin’ trip with some friends for the last 8 months or so. Thats opening weekend.
I know its the last race for CSC, but are folks still going to make some races at IMI and Bandi later on? I would like to make some of those with you guys.
I love racing at CRE and that has been my home track. Well…. closest. Bandi might be the same distance if I go out through Deckers and up that way. Any how.
To quote you Doug, “Good hard racing, fast guys and good sportsmanship.” You’re so right. Thats what makes racing fun, and thats why we do it. For the love of the sport. Thats what I’ve been missing at CRE. Some days we would have it and some days we wouldn’t. It would be great to include CRE in the CSC list of tracks……..if we could just get everybody to get along. :idn: You know, one more track to race at for the championship. And then the new track going in at Centennial. After talking to Jay about his visit there it sounds like its going to be a great track.
Doug, it seems that you have your boys set up right. They looked like the Penske team. I was just thinking…..do you need a 40 year old son to run TAG Masters? 😆

InactiveTo Doug and Mike, thanks for your comments. I have to agree.
I even like Mike after he tried to give me a buzz haircut on the straight between turns 6 and 7.
So Mike is also going to the Hooters party. Man my chances are getting better each day.

ParticipantOuch!
I deserve that though
(Rich is talking about me, Mike Jansen, touching tires and my front right tire hitting his left shoulder. Why I didn’t flip I’ll never know…)September 2, 2004 at 3:26 am #48070Anonymous
InactiveMike – You didn’t flip because of your “low center of gravity” i.e. your big ass! 😆
Good luck at Steamboat – you still have a mathematical shot at P2

ParticipantI was thinking Divine Intervention myself.

ParticipantAs my dad said, I’m going to be writing a race report for Super Karts Illustrated on the TaG Masters race. It would really help me if you all could send me press releases just describing what happened during the race, from your perspective. What chassis and engine you are running and what team name you run under would also be very helpful.
I did watch the race, but I honestly don’t remember all of what happened. I’m a little frazzled because Mon morning right after the race on Sun, I drove to Rochester, NY to go back to college (including a frustrating tow truck experience in Ohio when my starter died….) and have since been running all over Rochester trying to get stuff together for my new apartment. I think it just about killed off my memory. So yeah, it would be great if you could help refresh it for me 😀
If you could just email something to me, I’d appreciate it. Doesn’t need to be fancy or anything. Tell any of your buddies who might not read this to do it too.
Thanks a lot.

ParticipantJeff,
Glad to hear you got back in one piece! I PM’d you. Have a good semester in the upcoming cold!

InactiveJeff,
You going to RPI? I grew up in Syracuse. And as Mike said get ready for that humid cold weather and snow. Your in the snow belt country. That is the exact reason why I came out to CU and never went back.
I’ll send you something on the TAG masters race.
Good luck and study hard. Hey your not racing at Steamboat I guess.

ParticipantRich,
Nope, I’m going to RIT. I admit, I’m not a fan of the state having lived in Colorado all my life, but I’m enjoying going here anyway. Nope, won’t be at Steamboat this year again…. one of these years I might finally get to go after missing all of them so far!
