InactiveI just bought a used Maranello/Rotax and I’m checking every nut etc trying to get ready for my first ride tomorrow. (and race Sunday?)And have a few urgent questions. I usually research for answers, but running out of time.
The front chassis height is differant from left to right. This can’t be correct, right? Should I just set it at medium ht? Rear is set high, 54 ” wide.
I had to switch out the seats and as I’m 6′ 4”, 200lbs, I set the new ( to me) seat back approx 2”. Any down side to that?
I can alter the seat supports to fit the new seat location or leave them off, as Doug W said was how his karts were set up. Thoughts?
It has WildKart brakes that need bleeding, where is the bleed valve? ( probably right in front of me, but I can’t see it 🙂
And lastly, does anyone know the approx weight of the Marnanello? Just curious on this one. tag masters
btw , PO is on vacation, or I would have asked him.
Thanks
Richard

InactiveRichard,
The little washers on top and underneath the spindle are all different sizes. Take them all off and make sure that both sides have equal washers top and bottom. ( I have fatest and thinest on the bottom and the other 2 on the top) It is also possible that the pills are screwed up. with all the pills on the ground face up the numbers should go clockwise on 2 and anticlockwise on the other 2. the clockwise pair go on the right side of the kart set them both to 2 (II) top and 2 (II) bottom this is the factory setup.
Don’t understand why a Maranello would have wildkart brakes, they come with Brembos (and who would want anything else!!)
We will be at Bandimere Sunday so you can check out our kart (number 08 red and blue with the crazy brits)
Don’t know about the weight with the shifter setup (Cr125) it was about 205 lbs havn’t weighed in with the Leopard yet.

ParticipantIt is nice to see everyone always so helpful to the new karters. I just want to ask that you are extra nice and helpful to Richard. Just so you know, Richard is helping me with the website and creating some great graphics to liven up the pages. By helping me, he is helping you, too, by improving your Colorado Karter website viewing experience!!
Here are a couple of his images that I have added, but there is more great stuff coming soon…

ParticipantRichard,
I hope you can make some of the races at IMI. It would be great to have more TaG Master entries.

InactiveThanks for the warm welcome!
After posting my seat question, I realized it would require a book to answer. 🙂 I repositioned it using Stones Super Seat Struts, ( biased plug, watch for their new website soon!), it went very smooth .
I found the bleeder valves, small socket caps that I thought were mech. fasteners.
I kinda stumbed into karting thru taking kart photos and one rental and I’m loving everything about it! The people are great, the whole community of karting is super, the speed is fantastic, the smell of high octane, etc etc. I love it and plan on making it an every weekend event – racing and shooting photos! Now, I just need to learn to drive 🙂 I ‘m looking forward to trying all the CO. tracks and the upcoming events.
Thanks everyone!
