ParticipantI am waiting on the Thursday weather report before I load up to have a weekend blast in GJ.

ParticipantRichard, I missed seeing your bumper at SBR last weekend. 😛
I’ll have to see how my work load goes as to whether I’ll have time to convert my old 4 stroke open Margay to the LO206 power or I guess I could just run the alky open stroker flathead on it?Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantYes another fun filled weekend with great people even though we played with Mother Nature and we were all safe in the end.
Here is a link to the battles we enjoyed. http://www.mylaps.com/en/events/937618Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantDoesn’t Brad stock the Briggs LO206 at IMI that the Junior Karting club has had years of proven competitive racing at a similar or even cheaper price? SBR is also a local dealer for Briggs Motorsports Products. Some people may think I’m nuts, yet I can’t hold back my opinion about the clone motors.
Richard, Jon and Greg are :loco if they think the clone is a better choice over the LO206 for promotion of cheap dependable and easy to use low HP competitive kart racing motors. Here is a post about a new rule for clones used on a sprint track in TX.
http://karting.4cycle.com/showthread.php?t=496566 :rantOK with that said, I do hope this new class takes off. I have a kart and motor set up that could be used for this event if anyone may know of a person that would like to race it.

ParticipantThe Colorado Junior Karting club is also racing this weekend at IMI so Sat. practice will have some kind of structure.
I’m attending Sat. and Sunday and might race my Tag Master Rotax. I’ll have my chassis straightening table with me in case anyone might need some help with that. Norbit plans on racing shifter.Rodney Ebersole

ParticipantJason,
Spread the hub a bit with a hammer and a large tapered end of a screw driver. Don’t get carried away driving it in as mag hubs are brittle. Clean up the axle with sand paper or even a file where set screws dent it.
Once your bearing carriers are off take the bearing out and find the part number on them.Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantIs this that list of drivers that have signed up for it all ready? 😉

ParticipantGreg, you must be an expert at putting it in and pulling it out fast. 😛

ParticipantI agree with Don Dempsters last post. I am just getting older and poorer as my karting years progress. I will always dream of being able to travel and participate in all big Kart racing events yet a close to home affordable kart racing event like Craig’s
“Racing for Heroes” for the last three years has allowed me to keep on racing karts with a great group of people.
The trend of traveling events with two main events I can understand to be an effort to save in some way yet I hope that a new state series does not follow that trend.Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantI think I could help more if we talked instead of typed about axle questions. $20 labor, I can straighten it faster than you can pull it out. 😯
Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantJason, I straighten bent axles for karters. My shop is near Grant, Co. I can also help you with pulling and installing the axle if you would like some schooling. Give me a call. 303-838-1941

ParticipantI have a Dino and an Atlas motor but find it hard to play with them compared to the ease of racing a rotax motor.
Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantWell I have got to say from where I sit the RMPKC schedule is #1 when it comes to seat time, in my truck. 🙁

ParticipantYou posted 12/86 as your jetting, I assume that is your gear ratio? I am curious as to what was your largest main jet that you tried? Pooping is generally a lean condition that happens before a lean stick or failure. The K&N filter is a radical change in airflow to the motor which I haven’t tried. Just changing to a big main jet may not be enough change for correct fuel/air ratio.
Many other settings like the float level and weight, the needle and slide position and sizes, emulsion tube, even the expansion pipe and fuel pump delivery could come into play in order to get the fine balance of air/fuel ratio it had with the stock air box and other stock parts.
A crude test would be with about a 170 main jet then flip the choke on if it still poops to see if it runs a bit better. But your at risk, as with even a stock set up I have had just my float drop set wrong that caused it to run too lean, (bowl empty’ed) no matter how big of main jet was in it.
