Participant“If some one isn’t competitive in a moto against ICC, its not because it’s a moto.”
Ok, so I am slow. If the moto is so competitive against ICC’s why would there only be ICC’s in the Pro class? Wake me up when a moto motor wins any of the CSC races. If there is no differance then why would many teams sell off there moto packages to go with a more expensive, more maintenance ICC package? It’s sort of like the 50 mm axle deal. No one went to 50 mm because it was slower and less costly. Why don’t you muddy the water in the S3 class with stock ICC’s then?
Our results page doesn’t seperate who was driving what so I can’t tell exactly who was on a moto in all the classes. If you were refering to Tom Kutscher as being the fastest moto driver @ 53.4 I can only compair that to the known ICC class slowest time of 52.6 the weight differance from Toms class to pro ICC I suppose could put his moto motor at least at the back of the pack in Pro ICC.
I’m not going to be there Sunday, still wish I could be, as this is my first CSC event I have missed. Maybe I am just a little burnt out.Rodney Ebersole
Participant“The ICC motors in S2 and S1, in my opinion, are doing a hugh disservice to the drivers. They have created a false sence of winning, as nowhere else would they run together. They should be in ICC only. “
“We may find other discrepancies as we go along and they in turn will be addressed. At least we do have written rules to refer to now. “
“Rusty,
Thank You. It also gives confidence that future issues will be handled properly also. If we’ve made a mistake we’ll say so and fix it. “Sence this isn’t fixed yet, I am choosing to drop out of the CSC races as I don’t see the need to buy tires/fuel/entry fees to try and compete with ICC’s in the only class that was left over for non-stock motos to spin their wheels. I still have hope for next year if we do start following the SKUSA rule book. But with my luck something will change that too. It is just sort of sad to think I have 25 years of racing these karts, five karts, 20 motors and nothing to be competitive in CSC racing. I hope you never run out of the new karters that need new stuff to follow the new rules.

ParticipantThank you for the responce. From this insider it looks like CSC made a poor call. In 2004 icc’s in Colorado (CSC) were a minority and the moto motors were a majority. Even if I am wrong and they were split equally, in 2005 CSC wrote the rules for the most amount of change for the shifter racer.
They elimated any class for the old die hard moto to run well in while opening all the classes for the newer icc’s to take the lead.
No wonder why I was so confused this winter while I was tring to descide which class to start my shifter experiance in. There wasn’t one.
O well, at least this time I am glad I didn’t have a bunch of extra money to buy into the ICC thing. CSC had me going there for a while, as I am just a local racer changing to shifters and thought for a moment that I would have to start collecting ICC’s to be competitive in my own state.
There must not be a shop in Colorado building good moto motors. If there was they should have been screaming about the 2005 rules.
2006 already looks like a better year for this old karter. Maybe by then I’ll have all my yard work done, some money saved up and ready to race.
We still need to work on this high priced gas crap. Hay, how about the S-1 class gets to use meth for fuel next year, unknow, just as a fade or transition into using a more affordable, inviromentily freindly, better performance race fuel. 😆Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantI know this TV is a little slow, Yet gez, I am talking about the real fewture of Colorado Karting, not specultive property take overs.
Hello, is there anybody out there? I do always have a nother choice when it comes to karting, I can quit.Well maybe I could.

ParticipantOk, when or if I decide to go to a skusa event, other than CSC, would icc’s be run in all of the shifter classes eccept S3?
Sence my e-bay mod moto has no hope in the CSC events, I think I will experiment to run meth to see if it might make up some of the discreprancy there is between moto and icc.
Anyone have an extra carb or worthless mod moto for sale?
Trade: 5 mod briggs motors for a TMk9?How many kart shops in Colorado are building and selling the stock honda’s?

ParticipantI got my rule book in the mail, Thanks Todd and Angie.
This is probably an old question, but being a knew SKUSA guy I have got to ask why.
Looking through the class structures on page 13 I see that the rules are pretty fair with seperations of moto/icc power plants. Why is it that CSC is allowing ICC motors to used in all of the classes?
The book doesn’t say an ICC can be used in S1/S2/G2.
My breif experiance is that a moto motor isn’t going to be competitive in CSC’s class structures and tracks’s, while the book does seperate the different power plants.
Why did CSC kill all hopes of karters with moto motors?
The S3 is a grate idea, but so is the rest of the written rules of SKUSA. It’s my opinion that in order to have a good following of stock moto’s there also needs to be a class for mod moto’s, which there is when you read the SKUSA rule book, but when racing CSC rules there is not.
How many mod moto kart owners have been neglected by CSC requiring them to either buy a new stock moto or a new ICC to be competitive?Rodney Ebersole

ParticipantIf you just put some softener inside them first they will slip right on. Then just bead them with a lighter. 🙄 a ha, yep, thats the ticket.

ParticipantMan, I have a lot to learn. Should I bring my Life vest with me next time in case I go overboard?

ParticipantGood luck with your pain Mike. You might try eating good food for the ribs that will load protective coatings all over your body.
One of the best places I find it is in the McRibb sandwiches. Also drink plenty of fluids. Mainly the one with built in advil effects, BEER.Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantCurt, That would probably work, we could just turn it up and leave it in your basement. Were you shopping for a little record player when you picked it up? It makes me think of a nother yacht term, cause you know I’m tring to learn the language.

ParticipantI wouldn’t be too silent about the animal being claimed as dead.
Shure it was never alive to anyone in SKUSA just like S-1/2/3 isn’t alive in WKA or IKF races. CSC is just tring to tighten up the fragmintation that karting has. They can only base there decisions on participation, which is good. But obviously the average grass roots racer of industrial motors doesn’t want more orginization at higher exspences.
The time is ripe for a not so orginized OHV series. The problem is no shops or tracks around here want to cater to racers that have no budget to spend on racing. Hummm sounds like a loosing business plan I would jump into.I will bet today 10 times more animal motors for karters are sold to the public across the USA then all the TAG motors combined. OK maybe just 5 times the amount. 😆
The animal/WF/F200 classes also are National Classes expecting growth, just not in the Nation of Colorado. I can only hope our sport grows here in our little nation to the point that we have too many series with lots of racers wanting to race. There is enough people in this state to have booth yacht and flat bottom racing clubs. The flatbottom racers just need to find the right pond to gather around. My opinions are based from a lack of really knowing anything about what is best for me, let alone what would be best for you.
I want ride on the yacht, but I hope they don’t drain the pond while I’m gone.

ParticipantNo body has claimed the EC dominator carb? There can’t be that many people in the CSC that would have an extra blueprinted tilly for a Leopard.
Or does all the Leapords come with an EC carb on them now?
Maybe our tech man could find out who’s it is for ya?Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantThe mini and the animal are 2 modern motor packages that are available for kart racing. It is nice that SKUSA has attempted to let the Briggs stuff play in their series. It also doesn’t supprise me that a low turn out at the first race for the animal has received the, “Lets get rid of them” while justifieing it with the low turn out.
Lets look at a nother class of kart racing some wish to promote that also got a low turn out. The S-3 had 3 karts, I don’t see any one wanting to elliminate that class. To say the animal will only be around for the next couple of years is a local opinionated statement that some would like it to be that way here or maybe even every where. If that “some of the people” are in control of the rules for our local racing then most liking it will be the case, as exampled here in SKUSA’s strong hold in Colorado.
The s-3,comer,mini and animal are really the fewture of our sport, the back bone to getting more people racing.
If you want more time on race day I would be looking at combining three of the shifter classes. Why call the Pro class ICC when an ICC can run PRO/S-1/S-2? I haven’t seen any referance to a Pro ICC class in the SKUSA rules it starts out at s-1. But then again as a new shifter racer I shure don’t see what logic is being used to divide 125 shifters into these three different classes. It shure isn’t rules of different equipment allowed and isn’t because one class has slower drivers in it. If anything these three classes should be divided on race day by qualifing times, with racers moved up in class based on main event times.
Oh-well. the opinions of this old Briggs racer doesn’t hold much ground here, which is probably a good thing, because if I was in charge, I would get rid of all this high dollar “Race Gas” and gain some power while running good old cheep meth. But I guess I should get the thought out of my mind, as it seems if if doesn’t cost more it isn’t going to get into the rule book.
A nother thing that puzzles me some what is this air box deal. OK now I have to take off a good $30.00 filtering filter, and put a $150.00 air box that only runs well if it’s none filtered. That looks like a cost savings idea????- AuthorPosts
