    Jack,

No worries. I was just wondering and that is why I waited to order. If the class is big enough I’ll run with the kids (and give them the extra weight). I guess we’ll find out in the next few weeks.

As for numbers I’ll go to 15d.

why did you think i was going to shifters :idn:

    Doug,

Let’s talk about a trade for those used YHC’s and I’ll give you more details. Since I feel generous today, I’ll even throw in a few beers of your choice!

    Loren,

Didn’t you hear! We are now going to race ALL Tag’s together! SR, JR, MASTERS, ETC, ETC. The weight will all be at 385 (zit motor) and extrapolate accordlingly to your engine (Just learned that word on Jerry Springer last night)

If we have more than 30 per class then we’ll have qualifying races with the top 16 making the main. The remaining will have a last chance qualifier to transfer to the main.

Isn’t it going to be great!

Also, they ARE going to allow MG yellows. Dennis Garwood will race since they will now allow his “special fuel additive”

By the way, I’ve got some land I am trying to sell in Florida too.

You know what’s funny? Bernie Eccelstone runs F1 like a dictator. I wonder if he allows participants to make the rules because he wants to please everybody or if he makes rules for the better of the sport and spectators. 😥 Bernie made the sport what it is today by doing what he thought was right for the sport.

    newbie,

Bridgestone YHC’s will do the trick and they could last two races (I personally change tires every race, if you have additional rims you could save them for only races)

the other tires I don’t know anything about except that last year the MG yellows were comperable but it seems they are now softer and aren’t for the recreational classes anymore.

    How’s that?

    Doug,

Great article. Like I said before, I’d love to race against 30 versus 7-10.

    Good Luck in Jacksonville!

Since I pulled rib muscles on the left and then 6 weeks later pulled the cartilage (broke, pulled, cracked, who cares it just hurts!) on the right i can speak from personal experience and say GET A GOOD RIB PROTECTOR! I don’t know your build but spend the dough to save your sides.

As for seats, i agree with what was said. It all depends on your build. I am 210 with a 33″ waist and the ribtech seat is perfect for me in the upper body but loose in the hips and i’ll build up the butt area for myself.

    Just my 2 cents worth.

    Girls, Girls, Girls 😀 😀

Obivously you haven’t REALLY looked at a GP Chassis now have you? Even a blind man could tell you that they are the most beautiful looking kart you could feast your eyes on! 8)

Lastly, I think Sam Walls was on a GP chassis and so was Jack Warrington. I am pretty sure that they have a number one plate to hang on their karts here in the state.

PS You want to know why they have a number six plate on display? It’s because you all will be on thier “6” when you race em 😀 😀 😀

In closing, why do you want a Lepurd engine? Where’s the love for the zit???

I am jonesing for the season to start. At least F1 starts this weekend 😛

    Stacey,

Keep us posted on this development please. I’d love to make it to your track 3 times this year if SKUSA does something for the locals that don’t want to go to SKUSA races but would consider going to one in “our own backyard”

    Thanks,

Chaz, you seem to know more than the average bear:

What I want to know is this: Jack Warrington and I were both 27d last year and I know he took #1 in shifter class last year (novice i think?) so who wins number rights 😀 😀 🙂 🙁 😮 😥 👿

Does anyone know how to contact hi flyer Wrong Way Warrington?

#27 because that’s Gilles Villenueve’s number, the best F1 driver I ever saw (see qualifying in Monaco late 70’s. Over 2 seconds quicker than the field) 😮

    Funny thing about last year…

With a Rotax I took first at CSC round #6 race.
I also worked my a_ _ off to get to 208 pounds so i could compete.
I also practiced at Bandemere so I would do well.
What does that say for heavy guys on Rotaxes that scale at 397#?

Mike “its a conspiracy I’m tellin ya” Jansen

For the record, I like +20. LIKE IT WAS LAST YEAR 😀 😀 8)

#1 I agree with Doug Welch. Data from our tracks aren’t going to help you on the National Circuit, get over it.

#2 I clearly remember the origins of this series and once again for those of you that don’t remember the comment it went like this: We are a rouge series! We are NOT going to jump each and every time SKUSA, TAG, WKA, Stars of Tomorrow and any other alphabet soup series make a change midseason (and we all know that they do)

#3 Aren’t we getting our “panties in a wad” about how many people are racing in TAG??? First I heard it would be 20 then 30 and now 40 racers in the class. Jeez, we better start racing at the end of this month because by April we’ll have over 70 at this rate!

#4 If we do have a lot of racers then I have to agree with the stagger. Do you really want to win a race or position by having someone behind you in the other class block or take you out? Seriously, isn’t equal competition with equal equipment the reason why many of us aren’t in “open checkbook racing class” (Shifter to others). I’ve said this, Dennis Garwood(#1 last year in TAG Sr class) and others too. Mark our words when the non Stagger start creates a major affect in the CSC points standings. Don’t whine about it when it occurs. Ask Josh Fellows, in the heat of the battle at IMI he tangled with another class pilot and lost several positions. “Those that forget history are bound to repeat it”

#5 Didn’t we all have AMPLE enough notice about the CSC meeting @ IMI? Unless you were Stacy Cook Et. Al. and were physically unable to make it through the Glenwood canyon then you have NO excuse to not be there. If memory serves me correctly I could swear that IMI has a phone and I heard it ring that night. You KNEW this would be an issue you could have always called and had your views relayed to Brad or Bobby.

#6 Brad sells Biland and JB sells lepurd and now Stacy sells something else for the class. All it takes is common sense to realize that they all would like to have an edge and win to sell more of thier product and bragging rights. I don’t blame them for that, do you? As I’ve heard from JB (and many of us have heard it too) it’s not what you drive but how you drive it. I think Schumacher could drive with thread bare tires and beat us all so enough of the engine bashing. I don’t hear anyone saying SWEDETECH sucks, XYZ is better in the pro class, do you? Or do they 😆

#7 I think we all are chomping at the bit to go racing so I understand your whining. However, if it IMPERATIVE that you race to SKUSA/TAG rules you can always head down to CRE. They run those rules at thier races and George would love to have more entrants at his track.

Are we going to beat a dead horse some more? Cuz after a while it starts to smell and this topic is ripe.

    Hey Newbie,

I have always enjoyed motor racing (watched it never participated) and last year was my first year in the sport. I got into it after going to IMI for a bachelor party and (also) Sam Walls worked out at my gym. I agree with the things that are being said and i’d like to add a few things to the mix.

I bought a used GP/Rotax package and was glad i bought used. Would I have bought new? I don’t think so because I didn’t know enough to make a good decision, Then to be stuck with something i wouldn’t be happy with later. But that is me and I am cheap at times 😆 knowing what i know now I’ll buy new for my next kart. Do you want to race? Are you doing this for recreation? Those are questions you have to answer.

Shifter versus the Touch and Go (TAG) Classes? How deep are your pockets? Remember this: Have you ever seen a pilot go from a Cessna to a 747? Did Juan Pablo Montoya go from karting to Formula one? It is the same with a shifter versus TAG. Shifter is the top of the ladder.

As for kart chassis and engine packages get something that you like but more importantly get something that has local support. No good getting a Tony Kart/ Italsystem when there are no dealers here. Same for the engines. Personally i like the zit engine (Rotax) but again that is personal preference. I think that all engines have thier plusses and minuses. Your challenge is a)how much is the rebuild when that comes b)What is my engine’s weakness (no one engine is perfect) some are great low to mid range others great mid to high range in RPM’s.

Between the kart and accessories it cost me about 7,000 to race last year. (Dennis cost more because when he wrecked they were doosies 😀 ) (And I didn’t go to any out of area races other than Steamboat)

Go to any track here in this state and ASK QUESTIONS. Everyone here loves to educate anyone with a pulse who is curious! They’ll tell you why thier chassis and engine is better than XYZ’s piece of junk. Seriously if you don’t ask then that is your fault because we all are happy to give you knowledge and the more that race the better the competition.

Good Luck and hope to see you at the tracks!

    Tom,

I am pretty sure that we rotaxians will have the OEM carb (dellorto) and the OEM airbox (yea, the big black square box). Just like last year.

    Right everyone???
