Just take your max jet, adjust to it and then do the plug chop to see how far you can go.
Tell Dennis that illegal fuel finally caught up!
You all have a great race tomorrow. I’ve got my niece with me for the weekend so I won’t be there to defend the rotax’s honour. Rich, it’s up to you!
Race hard fast fair and safe. 8)

ParticipantSpencer,
Once again everyone is looking for the “magic bullet” to being fast. Jay Jacobellis and I compared notes all the time at Bandimere (round one) and he and I differed all the time with what Max Jet said. Quite frankly the only thing that will make the zit engine fast is by making adjustments, taking notes and doing A PLUG CHOP! That is how you make the engine run fast. Adjust the airscrew once you’ve warmed up the engine by putting it back on the stand and see how it revs up on the stand (without a bog) Adjust adjust adjust and take plenty of notes. It doesn’t take but a minute or two to make that adjustment (if your kart is clean 😀 Dennis 🙁 )
when you have it running right it will pull alongside a SONIK, ask Keesling about that 8)

ParticipantAre they really running a CART race this year? Probably the “bon voyage” tour.
I also heard that about a kart race!
Rumour has it the winner in each class gets a fetzer valve trophy.

ParticipantRich,
Check out the repair manual online for the Rotax (the most powerful engine in TaG) and it shows the alignment necessary for the counterbalance via the gears. Just thought I’d let you know…
Superslow must be one of those ICC guys that is FAST – when the engine doesn’t go BLAMMO… after that its superslow 8) 😥
Just how many engines went blammo at CSC race #2? Doug Welch and Josh Fellows to name a few…
I thought an F1 race occured and everyone was running the Mercedes engine :puke

ParticipantSpoke too soon. 1st race in the west coast series is the weekend after memorial day in Carson City Nevada.

ParticipantTo all:
We know how many were at the PMT event here. How many participants are there at the Stars of Tomorrow events in the west coast? Tried to find it but couldn’t locate anything or have they had thier west coast start?
Sounds like CART vs IRL to me.
Ah, politics! Like Rodney King said many years ago, “cant we just all get along!”:bs:

ParticipantRich,
Thanks for the potential DNF problem! Did you have to replace the gasket once you split the case? Is this something we can work on? (sounds like it) Where did you buy the gears and gasket? Let me know and I’ll take a peak at mine once you let me know. Thanks again.
BTW, how did you bend your axle @ GJ?

ParticipantChaz, to answer your questions and to state a few obvious ones here goes:
I would have LOVED to have raced there this weekend! My challenge was that I took friday off to practice and get used to the track in Grand Junction for the CSC (only to take 6th but that’s another story) The PMT is a two day affair, I would have had to take both Thursday and Friday off. This coupled with the fact that I leave later this week to go to the Indy 500 means I am playing more than I am working. And last time I looked I am the owner of my own Mortgage Company (and not retired; trust funder or abundantly wealthy) so I needed to be working. And I hated to make that decision! It was free ink for us locals in national karting magazines and I would have loved racing with Keesling 😀
Stacey et. al. have a FANTASTIC track over there and it is run very well (computer breakdowns are no one’s fault) I look forward to the next race there. I/we had a great time and the food in town was great too. I really liked the Adam’s Mark and the job they did for us all to feel welcome (Stacy, you can tell them that I’ll be back there again)
Another challenge that I thougth would happen (but with such little turnout this wasn’t a problem) is the fact that we just have way too many classes and unless we either a) combine some of the classes b) remove some of the classes c) run the races like a dictatorship and if you can’t get your act together then too bad there goes your class without you 🙁
Do you realize we are getting done at dusk? I left out of Grand Junction from the CSC race, grabbed a burger through drive through (no tuna after my hard won 6th place :bang ) and was on the freeway at 8:30. How many went to work Monday? How many went to work feeling 100%? This to me was the main reason why I didn’ t go and to me this needs addressing the most.So there are my reasons for not making the race. It pains me to know I didn’t go to a race here in “our backyard” at a first class facility. I still want to go to the SuperNats in Vegas but the reasons for that are different since Vegas is my hometown.

ParticipantPardon my ignorance but why is it we Coloradoans can assemble 130-140 karters but SKUSA or STARS can only assemble a lot less. What am I missing?

ParticipantChaz,
thanks for the post. But if i called JB and Ann Louise then I’d have to actually DO something, like pick up the phone!

ParticipantCount me in Doug. I am sure I’ll give the crowd a thrill when they see my kart on 3 wheels like I did in Grand Junction last week

ParticipantSpeaking of breaking ribs.
Does anyone know the status on Bandibumps getting ground? I’ve had three weld jobs done on my seat attachment points on my frame and won’t subject my poor kart to such abuse next time if the problem isn’t corrected.
Isn’t that’s why they have one drop in the schedule…

ParticipantIf you get the supercharger make sure the fetzer valve is clean. You lose so much power with a dirty fetzer valve.

ParticipantThese ingrates, never satisfied. And the main one doesn’t even RACE ANYMORE :idn:
By the way, how soon for points standings 8)
