    Mark,

Now isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black?
Senna wasn’t exactly up for sportsman of the year when he was racing! :mic

Oh, that’s right, he was telling Prost that his left front tire was loose at Sazuka 8)

When JV was winning (pre BAR) he just didn’t like doing the scmoozing for sponsors and that was obvious. For that he is a butthead 😆

Here’s a few facts from when I was in Spain last year and the Austrailian GP was on TV that weekend and other rants and raves:

    1) At the airport souvenier shop they had 2 walls full of Grand Prix paraphenalia and it was NICE stuff.
    2) The newspaper had the first 17 pages of the sports section devoted to the F1 race that weekend (even my wife was impressed with that)
    3) We could have gone to a bar that night to watch it live but probably would’t have found a seat since the place was packed with people watching the race.

We went to a karting track in Malaga next to the meditteranean and they had cinderblock garages/storage units you could rent. Above the mechanic’s shop and retail store they had a restaurant/deli where you could sit above the track and have a beer and watch the action on the patio or inside (I felt like we were in hog heaven! Of course we had many beers after renting karts and watching everyone else) Alonso’s photos were on the wall along with some other non F1 drivers. How could they afford to build such a beautiful place? I don’t know but if I could build a track I’d copy a lot of thier ideas, hint hint 8)

When IRL and CART kiss and make up then you’ll see some true racing, both road courses and ovals.

Remember, AJ Foyt won Indy 500, Daytona 500 and LeMans. Mario raced at Daytona along with all the other places he raced and both said that they learned their chops from racing midgets in the midwest. And Dan Gurney….

Those were stud American drivers. And in their days NASCAR racers had REAL headlights and not decals. :argue

No, Denise err Dennis is going to be golfing in IOWA with the guys this weekend.
(I thought they only grew corn there) 😆

Rumor has it he’s playing in a dress since he doesn’t want a piece of any of us colorado karters!

We still love him though

Miss ya D, by the way what exit off I-70 did you buy that race fuel?

    Now wait a minute there snappy’s 😀
I agree that JV was b_tch slapped last year by JB. That was amazing and yes JV needed to go to other things. I still think that with a year off and away from a losing team (face it BAR were not good at any time till this year when HONDA got it right) and the right team he could do very well.

I want to see Jacques back in F1 since F1 needs characters (that can also drive, see James Hunt)

Ferrari have it right, Williams and McLaren are looking like they’ve never been to the podium. At least you can say Minardi just doesn’t have the funds, what’s McLaren’s excuse? Williams had a major rear tire problem last year and finally fixed it (at Monaco to be exact). This year they don’t really have any problems other than a slow car and an engine that USED to be the best. Same thing can be said for the Michelin tires too.

Now I have an excuse to drink in the morning watching Williams and Montoya getting thier lunch eaten. Ralf needs to go too. I would LOVE to see JV ride with Renault but with Trulli’s podium finish I don’t think he’ll be leaving.

Chaz and Mark, then you’d have to find someone else to bad mouth! By the way, JV won Indy an F1 and CART championship. You can’t say the same thing about Button 😆

Although he used to be the best Brit, Coulthard needs to retire and make babies with his model girlfriend or is it his wife now??? 🙄

I just hope that some team can be consistent and make a game of it. Schuey is an incredible talent and honestly even though I am not a fan of his I think he’s simply the best. Ah, if Senna would have raced for another 4 years…

    Montoya P1 @ Monaco! Something’s gotta give!

    Scott,

    I won’t speak for anyone but myself…
The questions you are asking would be better asked at the track while hanging around the pits. That is how I started and everyone was very knowledgeable and patient with some of my silly questions. I am not busting your chops but some of these questions would be best asked there since they are very generic questions you are asking. Better to listen and read what is being written in this forum than answering each and every question. Just my opinion. 😆

Come on by at IMI and I’m the tall guy with the rotax. You can’t miss me since I think I am the tallest racer here in Colorado. Ask away! I might even have a beer with you. Or a root beer if you aren’t of age. And always at the end of the racing day 8)

By the way, how can you take a racing series seriously when they apply decals for the headlights :oOo Go Juan and F1! Go IRL and the Indy 500!

    Stacey,

    I’ll call them now.

Does anyone want to share a room for the CSC race weekend since my wife thinks a day of fun is at the spa not at the track with noisy smelly karts and drivers!

I don’t snore and will only need the room friday and saturday night. Although a good foot rub after a day in the seat and on my feet would be appreciated 8) its not MANDATORY.

    Taylor,

Thanks for the information. Next time I too will :look before I sprout off. I think it is getting contagious….

As for leaving the 20# at home, have you seen me? I’d have to lose a leg or a head (oops, I forgot the human head weighs 8 pounds 😀 )

Does anyone know the status of JB’s surface grinding. Just wanted to make sure it’s being done before the next round there.

it looks like the japanese one you show. I haven’t recieved it and should have it either today or tomorrow. It goes over the “nipple” at the end of the starter housing but I don’t think it has the padding that shows on the japanese website. By the way it is official, at least that was what was told to me.

I’ll keep you posted. Vito says he has a support too.

More later… See you all at IMI sunday? 8)

    Stacy,

For those of us not going to the club race the weekend before, how do we pre-register for the CSC race?

    Agreed.

According to my watch we all have only 30 days to and a few hours to make up for our (actually my) pathetic performance and go for the bullet (P1, first, top step, date with the trophy girl, etc.)
