ParticipantVery, very, immensely cool, guys. 8) Show ’em what the Colorado racers are made of!
By the way, we expect lots and lots of pictures. And, Roman, we expect some helmet cam footage as well!
BTW, i’m extremely jealous!

ParticipantJust so I can get a perspective on things…just how long has the CSC been around for? Out of curiosity.

ParticipantLast I checked, Bob Sutton (CEO of Centrix Financial) is still planning on a amateur road course. From what I understand, it will be in the same general area as front range airpiort. Apparently, it may be a course similar to Miller Motorsports Park, in the idea that it will be 4+ miles long, with many different configurations. Also, the track will be designed by none other than Alan Wilson himself! The same guy who designed MMP and our very own Track @ Centennial, among others. 8)
AFAIK, the track wont be open for professional use, al-la MMP. Which is unfortuante, IMO, because it’d be great to see some big series’ come to Colorado for some good racin! 😀

ParticipantThis is more or less the coolest thing. Ever.
I’m ready to book my Vegas hotel reservations now!! If i can’t compete against him, i’ll sure watch! 8)

ParticipantArg. I missed this. My dad and I are volunteering this year over at the Mile High Club (between turn 1 &2). Any chance we can have a 2nd round of this? I’d like to meet the team. 8)

ParticipantAngie,
We definately need maps for every track! That’d make my time tuning/driving much better. Personally, I think we should have them included with our registration packets at every race. 8)

My suggestions.
I suppose i’ve got a few niggling suggestions as well. Personally, I think there should be some curbing on the exit of turn 1 and especially the exit of turn 10 (? The turn at the end of the straight parallel to the main straight). But, that’s it! Awesome track otherwise!

ParticipantThat was a shock to see on the font page! Wow! That’s big news for the Colorado Karting/grassroots motorsports scene. 😀

ParticipantEveryone there put on an awesome event, really top notch at an already great track! Hope you’re all taking in some good R&R today, you deserve it!

ParticipantWell, on the topic of combining classes, let me say this. Take a look at the American LeMans Series. They run four different classes on track at once, and the speed difference from LMP1 (fastest) to GT2 (slowest) is pretty significant. This obviously means a ton of cars on track at once, but it also means some pretty exciting racing happens, IMO. 8) It can comepletely change any given situation/strategy sometimes, and there’s plenty of overtaking action.
Granted, Karts are a completely different story…there’s not nearly the room on a kart track as on a big track like Road America or Sarthe. Just some food for thought, though. 🙂

ParticipantNice! Congrats! He’ll love Pueblo, its a fantastic track. 8)

ParticipantThe Fetzer valve is fantastic. Those Accelleration karting guys know their Fetzer valves & ball bearings like none other. 8)

2) Don’t use a 98 needle
So, in other words, use the K27 needle?
Jon Romenesko
ParticipantYeah, good question. Since we’re racing the opposite way that Test & Tune runs, is the gear ratio the same? Ive never run it counter clockwise….

ParticipantWell, i for one had a blast at the GGP. Even though it was a tough weekend for me, it was still fun. Everyone involved deserves some big kudos, i thought they put on a nice event. The track was fun, too, now we know what it feels like to drive a Champ Car on a bumpy street circuit!
Big thanks to Rick, not only for helping with the GGP, but for helping us out with our kart woes! If it werent for him, we may never have moved!
The learning curve on these karts is much higher than i had expected, but we’re gettin the hang of it. And hopefully we’ll have a bunch of the bugs ironed out before Bandi. But i’m already looking forward to the next GGP…just make the track more Rotax-friendly next time. 8)
