ParticipantThis class continues to impress me, just fantastic racing! I’ll see if i can get a video up soon of the crazy heat race. I haven’t raced in a class of 27 karts in a very long time!

ParticipantHUGE turnout. I had to park the trailer waaay down at the end of the paddock, and cars were parked along the access road all the way up. Haven’t seen a track that full in CO for a very long time. Pretty great to see! Hope it continues. :co

ParticipantStan, both of your links are 404’d. Looks misspelled.
Nice deal for the 206 racers!

ParticipantDon’t know about you guys, but I had a blast on Saturday. Definitely some of the closest racing i’ve had in a very long while, I finished the first heat only .056s behind Leo, and had a battle going the for the entirety of each race! It’s a pretty fun package to drive too, and quite obviously very racy. Not to mention 15 karts in the class, which was by far the most that day…lots of new guys too. Hopefully we put on a good show for everyone watching.
I know we’re only one race in, but i’m pretty impressed by the entire LO206 concept so far. Can’t wait for the rest of the season! :~

ParticipantMomentum is going to be king with this engine, much more so than a TaG. I think the freight train effect is all but inevitable, so hopefully rough driving will be closely watched, and maybe race starts closer to T1 than normal. It’s going to be interesting for sure!
I picked up my engine last week and should be ready to break it in this Sunday. Can’t wait!

ParticipantSuper handy, thanks for sharing! Briggs seems to be pretty forthcoming with any technical info you may need on this engine, not to mention a few instructional videos. It’s a nice change from the macguyver’d dirt bike engines or Italian stuff we’re used to.

ParticipantFun event this year Craig, as usual! 9 News was there filming a segment; in case you missed it…

First off, we have officially added the growing and affordable LO206 Class.
That’s fantastic news! Glad to hear it.
And i’m sure that i’m not alone when I say that I’ve never heard of Duro brand tires (until now), but after a quick Google search, it looks like they can be had for under $100 a set…which is also good news.

ParticipantI’m calling myself committed. I don’t have an engine yet, but I do have the chassis, and i should be ready by the time the season starts. One entry initially, but I may have two later in the year depending on how things go; my Wife wants to race, too!
Looks like TTAC just confirmed the class, so that’s great news!

ParticipantYou can count me as interested, Stan. It could allow me to run some races out of Denver, when I wouldn’t ordinarily want to spend the $$$ to take the trip with my shifter. I don’t have a 206 yet, but I should have a kart ready to go by the time the season starts.

ParticipantI’d love to give it a go. Looks like a blast!

ParticipantNot to mention a cash purse, and arrive and drive packages.

With how ultra-competitive the FWT is, i’m interested to see how the 206 is received there.

We are being told that the 206 class being considered for running at The Track this season is just that, a 206 only engine package exclusive class.
Respectfully,
Eddy
:coI hope that’s not the case. I can defnitely understand the want for a one make class to make tech easier, avoid unfairness/cheating allegations, etc. But if the class is meant for entry level/affordable racing, the 206’s, Clones, WFs all offer a similar level of performance that could make one class. Not everyone has or wants to buy a 206, but there are plenty with other 4-strokers that would race, and more racers = growing karting, no? Either way, its still a step in the right direction, IMO.

ParticipantAwful news. My thoughts are with the Cooks, they’re such a great family. RIP Randy. 🙁

ParticipantI’ve been out of the TaG game for a while now, but I know that SKUSA has been trying to level the playing field, and has changed the weights of those two engines on a couple of occasions. Parity has been an issue with the TaG concept from its inception, and trying to level things with adjusting weight is never the magic bullet. Some engine packages are just stronger at one track than another.
Of course, it sucks for the Rotax and Motori owners, but the Rotax Max Challenge is a great series if you want to stick with that engine. And AFAIK, the RMPKC has the option to run Rotax classes so you can still race with them, just under RMax rules & Mojo tires.
