ParticipantThanks Marc! The Kartworks camp continues to impress me each race, all these guys worked really hard and the results show it. Everyone did a great job, i had tons of fun racing with everyone this year!

ParticipantSo, Brad…just to clarify. We will need to pay the $50 and sign up with TaG USA for this one race even if we’ve run in the CSC this year? (which i understand is a TaG qualifying series). Just makin sure, this should be fun! 😀

ParticipantHeard this last night, police werent sure if it was Colin involved at the time. I refused to believe it until it was confirmed. 🙁
Just an absolute, horrific tragic loss. I’m almost at a loss for words. Colin was absolutely one of the greatest. Its said so often before about people, but he was truly an ambassador for the sport. Most people who have heard of rally racing in the US know who Colin McRae is. He converted thousands (including me) into fans of the WRC. Apparently he was preparing to stage a comeback next season too…
From the impression i got, he was a genuinely great guy too. Always seemed like it on TV. RIP Collin McRae…you’ll be missed. 😥
5 left into 6 right onto heaven….

ParticipantOk, so it wasn’t perfect…but this is the first time this was ever televised, keep that in mind. Also, how many times has altitude produced a show on motor racing? For a first effort, i thought it was pretty good. There isn’t nearly enough karting on tv, and just seeing a special like this (2 hours long?! awesome!) was great. It was a very good effort on altitude and jim’s part, how many average altitude viewers even have a clue what karting is all about? How often do you see a kart race televised? This was GREAT exposure for our sport….even beyond the fact that one of the country’s biggest kart races was held in CO. Most people still think of karting as those things you rent at Boondocks (IMO, they really should have explained what a modern kart is all about for the general populous)….or those things you buy for $500 so your kids can goof around in a parking lot or backyard.
I loved it, lets hope that this idea takes off and we see all the big races televised in the future. Its getting more frequent…every once and a while, karting sneaks onto SPEED. Supernats and Rock Island anyone? 8) Why SPEED hasnt picked those up yet is beyond me.
Hope all the CO karters were glued to the TV yesterday like i was!

Not a lot of skiers in the CO karting community, apparently.
I have a recent personal vendetta against skiing…. 👿
But that doesn’t stop it from being fun. 😀
Wait, you can ski in summer?! 😯 8)

ParticipantOh, and Eric Lazar’s entire story is just awesome, humbling. People like him are the truest racers in this sport. If his story doesn’t inspire you….i don’t know what will! :sun:

ParticipantOk, so this might be a little late, but better late than never, right? 🙂
AWESOME event! Jim and everyone at the track, big kudos to what you pulled off to put this event on, it’s something i’ll remember for a very long time (hope you took a nice long day off after the dust settled). This was my first national event, and i came away just blown away by the grandeur, the spectacle of the entire thing. I was very impressed by the coverage and effort put into this….the live racefanradio.com coverage, bringing in the fantastic Ken Walker to call the race, and TV coverage on Altitude! Wow! Seemed everyone i talked to from out of state really enjoyed the event, liked the track, and the state. Also, the level of competition at this level was just crazy…makes our CSC races seem cute. I was really impressed by the caliber of drivers that showed up…and our CO boys did great!
Just makes me love this sport all the much more. I was on a karting-induced high for the next week….and i didnt even drive. Hopefully at the next grand nats….i’ll be driving. 8)

ParticipantThat’s not natural….. 😯
I’m not even gonna say how long it takes me to change tires.

ParticipantMount it somewhere on your front faring (people usually put it somewhere around the number plate). Make sure to mount it with velcro so that you can move it depending on whether the trackside beacon is on drivers left or right.

ParticipantFun event! I was really impressed by the crowd, it was properly big! That was awesome to see a crowd that wasnt comprised mostly of the racer’s families. Sure hope this can get bigger next year!
