So I have changed a few tires so far, not many, but a few. Then I am over at IMI and Brad is telling me how they have little side competitions at some of the races. So I am asking him about how fast these guys can do the task…
“Well, the fastest so far is 37 seconds.”
“37 SECONDS TO CHANGE A TIRE!! Damn that is crazy…”
“No, 37 seconds to change all four tires. Bead broken to both beads on the rim, not inflated.”
I just changed a set of tires, it took me 20 minutes with tools and dish soap and sun baking the tires…
I can’t even believe 37 seconds, that is almost more impressive than the equally unattainable lap times you guys churn out. 😀September 5, 2007 at 5:39 pm #59284Rick SchmidtParticipantIt’s all about technique!

I’m not even gonna say how long it takes me to change tires.
