ParticipantAfter 4 years on the RTax, and having felt like I had learned & achieved what i wanted to, I moved to a Stock Moto this year. I wanted a new challenge!
I. Love. It.
It’s a totally different ball game than driving a TaG. The whole experience is addicting. So far the maintenance is less than it was with the Rotax…and that’s saying something! It was a little intimidating at first, but i’m starting to get a feel for the wrenching and the driving. After you’ve messed with the Rotax carb, there is nothing to a Moto.
Dooo it, mikey!

Participant+1 for a GP!
I have had two GP chassis in the last 5 years (with a Rotax, and now a Stock Moto) and can’t say enough about them. The trackside support you receive from AJ and the Kartworks crew is awesome, and what incited me in the first place.

ParticipantScott,
Thanks for the update! Us local karters seem pretty excited about the prospects of a new indoor track. Too bad the 16th is when i’ll be in Grand Junction for my last race of the year, but it won’t be long before i’ll be down there burning laps!

ParticipantWell this sounds awesome! I been looking forward to racing at GJ all season. I’m in for sure…so long as I don’t have to figure out 6% of a number without a calculator…. :bang

ParticipantAbsolutely. No matter what happens, we are still a very close knit community of some great people and great racers…we can’t forget that. We all love this sport and need to come together when times get tough (and we all know this year has been!).
Personally, I would love to have a chance to come out to GJMS this year. I was psyched up to travel out there with SKUSA and race (for the first time in a few years) before everything happened. Totally understandable why the race never happened, and I respect that. I wanted to support the cooks at the CKI race, but i just couldn’t plain afford it. I would be in for a SKUSA/GJMS/Utah year-end-karting-blowout. Sounds like fun!

ParticipantAwesome!
Not near my house at all, but then again, neither is TTAC, IMI, GJMS….
Really cool to see another indoor track coming, I had no idea this was even in the works…looks like they’re pretty far along already. I’ve had a blast at Speed Raceway in the short time its been open, I love indoor karting. This one looks proper! A second story track? Cool!
Man, between this place and Speed Raceway, they’re gonna get all of my money when the snow starts flying. :zombie

ParticipantIt was cool seeing you back in the seat again, Cris, it looked like you had fun! I made a last minute decision to come out to the race, and i’m glad I did, because it was fun! Karting for the fun of it is always the best, isnt it? You’ve got yourself a fast kid, we all have to work pretty hard to (attempt) keep up with him!

ParticipantShocking news…I can’t believe our little community has been hit by something like this again. Especially with someone so young. I can’t imagine what the Duncan’s are going through…
Thoughts and prayers to the family, and everyone at GJMS & the CJKC. RIP little Taybor.

ParticipantThanks Charles!

ParticipantSo, anyone have a mylaps link? I haven’t been able to find it, and I’m anxious to see who finished where (including myself 😆 ).

ParticipantWell, after spectating last year, I told myself that I had to race next year. I’m glad I did! Racing in downtown was a great experience, and just like last year, I met a bunch of people who just noticed the happenings when they were walking/biking/driving by and stopped in to check it out! A kart race with spectators outside of our own families? How cool is that? Jim, you and your crew raised the bar from last years event, and that’s saying something. It really felt like a ‘big-deal’ race. Oh, and the TV coverage doesn’t hurt either. Well done!
As for me, it could have gone better (could have gone much worse too). Only my 4th shifterkart race ever, and minimal practice meant I was in over my head. But I kept it out of the wall and had a blast just being a part of the racing. My onboard video is great (even from the back of the pack, i’ll post those later). I really hope this becomes a staple of CO Karting.
Now, time to rest, recover, and rebuild for Grand Junction in a couple weeks. :~

ParticipantThanks for posting! See y’all in a couple weeks!
