ParticipantBrad,
The spirt and intent of this post is not to seperate what has been built by the CSC. It is simply an effort to establish a true regional race option that would give some of us, that have supported all Colorado tracks, another step up the ladder to find another level of racing without grinding on the Stars circuit. $$$$$
Just asking a simple question here and getting some different reasons why, or why not, bring something like the PKC to our region. You have to admit, and you did, that 15 classes is way too many.
The one common way to allow more track time for all classes would be to seperate the regional level racers from the club level racers. We did not pay $125.00 for 20 more laps. We paid $145.00 for tires, fuel, oil, transponder, pit, wrist bands, dinner, real trophies and approx. 100 more laps. Can’t even honestly tell you how many practice and race laps we got in. This also paid for all of the workers responsible for a safe event, tech, scoring, announcer, rescue and so on. I don’t know about other families, but speaking for our race budget, we got more bang for our bucks.
California has about 1600 registered kart racers compared to our 150. They have more options and more tracks than you can imagine. They also have their own set of problems and trouble makers just like us. Per capita, we are just about equal to them.
It’s not about CA vs CO. I just wanted to see if there is an interest out here. I am not going to move to CA. I already spent 22 of my 54 years there. CO is home sweat home, and we race karts.
We will be at the rest of the CSC races just like the first 5. Continue to support the CO karting community, families, tracks, shops and volunteer to do Greeley again if asked.
Let the other track owners speak up. We heard your opinion.
Thanks,

ParticipantSorry to hear about this guys. We have people who go around looking for stolen tools and machinery taken from our job sites at flea markets and auctions all the time. We will look for your stuff as well.
Bastards took my trailer from the back of my son’s running pick up a few years ago. Lakewood Police said no way they would look for it as 10-15 a week get ripped off in that lovely city.
You gotta believe in carma. What goes around…..

ParticipantBack to the Pro Kart Challenge. The staff included in their registration packet a sponsor page and even some discount coupons from a couple of the class sponsors. Their food sponsor cooked fish and steaks Friday evening and fed the entire show.
The sponsor page had all of the information from each one. Phone numbers, e mail address, what they do, address…Just another thought for us to consider.

ParticipantJust got home from SUNNY Santa Maria and our first experience with the Pro Kart Challenge. Sorry to see the weather when we arrived at DIA.
First off we all had a great time and met some really cool racers at a very cool facility. The track was awsome, very grippy and technical. The weather was sunny and in the high 70’s every day, and in the 50’s at night making it very easy to sleep with the window open and no hotel air conditioning unit running all night.
The PKC drew over 100 entries divided into 6 classes. We were able to tune all day Friday wearing our driver completely out. Saturday had (2) 10 min. practice sessions, (1) 15 min qualifier, (2) 10 lap heat races and (1) 20 lap main. We were done at 3:30 totally exhausted and stoked about the day. Matt got a podium with a strong 3rd behind Nick Halen and another West Coast shoe. The trophy is made from marble and silver with a custom engraved plaque customized for the event.Having said all that, and as many of you know I could have said much more, this was truley a fine karting weekend. There is no reason Colorado could not run a series like this. The problem here is we have way too many classes, too many small classes, and classes that do not belong at a regional level. Until the classes are cut down to 5-6 we will continue to experience long days. 9 races is way too many. I like the post of 5 with no drops. Like Bill said, if you are not willing to make room in your busy schedule for 5 race weekends then perhaps your priorities are not in line with karting. If you are out for a championship then 5 races is very managable.
The Friday/Saturday schedule allowed us all to return home on Sunday to rest up for work on Monday.Just some thought’s from another racing family. I would be happy to answer any questions if you have any.

Participant“Kartworks, More Cheaters”
Have no idea what you are saying Stacey. Nowhere in the rules did it say we had to count putts!
Next year we will need Dennis to tech the rules, clubs, cards, and Scotty’s balls.

ParticipantJed,
You did not just arrive! You and your entire family have been here a long time and represent all good thing about Colorado Karting…Ron did good on his IMI equipment thanks to Blinks generousity and your tuning abilities. Period.
We have only been around 6-7 years and your family have been there the whole tour. Always smiling with your heads up higher than everyone else. Keep doing what you do and never change.
PS: It’s OK to get pissed every once in a while too.
See you at “The Track”.

ParticipantLong story about the tires, however, this race continues to be the best kept secret in karting in the US. $35,000 in pay out cash, lots of real nice gifts and prizes also. We had 5 entries in PRO ICC, blew up all of our tires, finished last and took home $800.00!
Plus, The Best Race Track Facility you will ever see in the USA. I cannot start to explain all of the first class facilities that everyone has full access to.
The folks at Miller Motorsports took notes and did it right. We had a good time, and the weather was perfect all week. It was great to see the Wilson’s, Mitch Wright, Preston and a few other Miller employees again also.
The tire debacle was just another racing thing that had no solution for the race commitee. I felt real bad for them, and even worse for Matt as we were running fastest times prior to “the red’s”.
Oh well, we will be back next year and try again. Won’t miss it for anything. You all need to go see this facility once in your life.Curt Kistler

Mikaela said she’s not waiting for you to bake granola bars and her waxing and electrolysis appointment is later this week so she’s making them tomorrow.
She does want to know if you (still) want to do a joint package or just send it by itself.
Dear Mikaela,
Welcome back from The Heartland. We already sent Michael a small package of stickers to put on his rifel, not to be confused with his gun. I am sure he would love to get some of your granola bars and anything else you can muster up.
Hope your waxing goes well, as we plan on doing some waxing at Bandi this weekend.
Tell your brother we said hey, and to check his chain prior to 20 Sunday.Love,
