It was sure better than most Stars races I have seen and I think Kurt and Bill did a great job announcing. You all need to keep in mind that all of the fields were full, most of the drivers names you could not pronounce at slow speed, and there was allot of action going on all over the track. I tried to announce at a company function out there the week after the grands with people I knew, and boy did I get messed up just calling the top three.

Kyle earned the coverage he received and his on board shots really showed what a DD2 is capable of.

    All-in-all, the broadcast is far better than my GGP ’06 & ’07 CD’s 😳

Sorry Stacey. It’s all our fault why the count is down. Can’t say as I blame anyone for not wanting to loose to our team. I am surprised that “Team Scotty” is still hanging in there for a butt whooping. :bow
If you need us to pull out to get the numbers up let me know. We will understand.
Until then, we will continue to practice finding our balls. :hehehe

Barry at Billet is the best welder in town. He can fix anything. And yes it would be best to clear things out of the way prior to going over there.

Thanks for the “YouTube” post Rick. Sorry the result of our inexperience on the camera was “pixely”. According to my smart son, Dave, we will need to use a different resolution next time so the quality will be better. The CD version of the entire day is very good quality and we will run it at this years award banquet.

The video tells it all however. We did heat cycle our tires, did loosen up our front end bite, did set the pressures lower, did change the way Matt turned in, (as wittnessed by Keenans pass on turn 3) and everything else one would do when tires are blistering. And they still blistered in both races. We had no issues on Saturday with the same temps running in the 51’s all day long.

I will agree with Blink. The batch of tires from MG were not right. And they are a class act by standing by their product. MG’s are the best tire we have run on in 9 years of doing this.

Thanks again Rick for posting the video.

I do believe the tire failures were all part of the track surface vs heat vs type of speed IMI offers vs chassis set up vs driver style……

If the trire failures were limited to just a few karts, by inexperienced teams, it would be a different story. There were some pretty experienced and capable drivers/tuners blistering tires Sunday.

    Back to my original questions:
When do we throw in the towell on a bad tire day? We need to consider all types of things including:
    Driver safety
    Equipment damage
    Points race for championships
Dollars waisted on blistered tires after ten laps

I am sure the list can go on forever, however, putting safety as our #1 priority in this sport, Just when does a race director say “not today”.

And yes Doug, we all remember the “Red” days in SLC last year, and the “Joke-a-Hamma” days in SLC two years ago. We put Matt in the top five in both years only to go home on blistered tires.

Some how we need to be more responsible to what the total outcome may be. We do it with rain, lightning, barriers, where we can stand, hot pits….

That is really bush league :bs: . I will bet his parents are very proud of the way he thinks.
I ditto Rick 100%. And BTW, we just burried a very dear friends son from a street fun kart hit and run. The picture of seeing Rich and his family sit there at the funeral will be forever embossed in my mind.

People do, and will cheat in any form of motorsports. History has proven this every year I have been a motorhead, +50 if your counting.

Question this weekend really is: With Dennis down for the count and hurting very badly, Who is going to run tech this weekend?
