    Doug,

What is meant by modifications to the top? I understand the body modification portion.

    Thanks,

    Jay,

Are you racing this year? I got the impression that you weren’t.

How about this for an idea?

What about RMC on the Saturday before the Sunday CSC dates? Do not have qualifying and run two heat races instead. The first race line up would be done by drawing numbers and the second heat would be inverted from the first and then total your position and base the final off of those totals. The one with the least total would be the pole and so on.

I believe there would be 4 classes: mini max, jr, int, master. Run mini and jr seperate and int and mstr together that way there would only be six heat races. The heat races should take no longer than two hours. There could be individual finals for each of the four classes if need be. The finals should take no longer than an hour and a half.

If my hypothesis is correct, we could start the first heat race at 8:00 am sharp and be done by no later than 11:30am. This would leave plenty of time to test and tune for the CSC race the following day.

    just a thought,

    Rich,

Just so people do not get the wrong idea,

The “upgraded parts” for the Rotax carb only refer to the open jetting in the rules. No actual upgrade only jet changes from Rotax Max Challenge rules.

Shouldn’t the real questions be: Where are the rules? What organizations rules is the CSC following? What are the classes that will be run in the CSC? and when is the meeting where all of this will be laid out? :idn:

    Stacey,

Are you running strictly Rotax classes on the CSC dates? If so, will they be run in conjuction on Sunday with the other CSC classes?

    Thanks,

    Brad,

I obviously do not have the correct story of what occurred. I am in no way pointing a finger at anyone. I’m simply saying we all, including myself, need to take responsibilty for our actions. It is the unfortunate few who do not that ruin it for the rest of us.

    Tom

PS–> As far as the CSC, I personally have not had a single problem with the rules or the tech at any of the tracks. If SKUSA can piggyback on the CSC races fine if not then I hope they do not schedule races on the same dates.

    Mike,

IMI is a bad example. It was only a matter of time before something like that occurred there. I am amazed it didn’t happen sooner! When you mix little kids, rentals, 4-cyle, 80cc, 100cc, 125cc on the track at once bad things are bound to happen. I would never let either of my son’s on the track at IMI with how the non-race day track time is operated. It is dangerous especially for the little kids. They go so slow. I do not know another way to state it. I think J.B. has it correct at his track with regard to non-race day track time.

Irregardless of my opinion, the track owners are in the end responsible for what occurs on their track. If they can not, at minimum, always, always, always make absolutely sure that karts enter and depart the track in the corect direction then they should be forced to shut down. There will always be that one person who doesn’t know the rules or just isn’t bright enough to follow or understand them.

One last thing Mike, if all the tracks shut down I will build my own so don’t you worry. 😀

This may be an unpopular thing to say but so what,

    J.B.

It doesn’t sound like much of a negotiation. We, as the racers, pay $75 to become SKUSA or whatever members, pay $? to become CSC members , we pay $? to have the priviledge to run in each CSC and SKUSA events, we pay to practice for these events, and we pay for pit spaces. I see a trend here.

I believe we deserve to have a racer be a deciding factor in who or what organization we go with. I thought at the time I heard it at the SSGP that no racer would have a vote on any of the final decisions was ridiculous. I do not believe the track owners should have the final say so. It should be a 50:50 split. For every track owner, a racer should get a vote on the direction of the CSC.

Oh yeah one other thing, why do we have to pay to run in a second class? See above for what we have already paid, why should we have to pay more? Where does that money go? Do you need to be insured twice? The personnel are already there and the race is being ran anyways. Do we have to pay twice for the priviledge to race at a CSC track. It doesn’t slow down tech or give them more work. The first three or five go to tech anyways.

just some thoughts from a poor uneducated racer,

So that’s a no for 2 out of 3 CSC track owners on the SKUSA issue. Hey Stacey, what do you think?

Just a suggestion, why not set a date for the CSC meeting and invite the different organization (SKUSA, Stars, IKF, WKA,….) leadership to that meeting. If the CSC is important to them, then they will be present and tell us what they can do for us. Like any business, make them do presentations and in the end we can vote for what we want.

    Sounds pretty simple,

How about a date for the rules meeting now that we are in the month of January? Some of us need to make plans at least 3-4 weeks out so we are not out of town on business. While on the subject of dates, how about the CSC schedule with dates. 😀

I figured it can’t hurt to ask 😛

    Rich,

It’s always fun to try an make a point by going beyond the reasonable. :rotate: I think anywhere between 15 to 20 laps is reasonable. I do not quite understand why the pro shifter class deserves the most laps of any class. Just because they choose to spend the most on their equipment shouldn’t necessarily correlate to number of laps. On race day, we all spend the same amount to enjoy the fun of racing on that particular day.

I think the largest class should have the greatest amount of laps. It would be an incentive to get the numbers out.

    Tom

PS –>If the pro shifter class is supposed to be the show, then they should run the main at or directly after the lunch break so everyone can watch. I enjoy watching them race. I noticed last year that many people had already started going home by the time they were griding.

Was it really even a surpise that they hit the Biland with that much weight? I just wonder what they will do when they are still beating up on the competition!

    Brad,

Do you ever think ” why did I ever get involved with Biland?” 😀
