In case Jay doesn’t use his helmet cam, here is a picture of the winner this weekend.
Ricky…Curt you have some helmet cams don’t ya? Three screens would be cool.Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantWell, I got this pit crew to help us all get ready but I guess just Jay, Roy and I will have to utilize their services?

ParticipantThis Saturday evening is the race. The promoter, Gary has a few sets of american spaced wheels and tires
with silver rockets in them to rent for the race. I also have a set of metric wheels and tires on my shifter
that someone could rent. We will have a practice day at the Trout club this Thursday, weather permitting
if you would like to do that contact me.Rodney Ebersole

ParticipantWelcome to the fun Jordan. IMO you should work hard the rest of the winter enjoying lots of good food and drink. If your good you will have no problem becoming a novice Master at the young age of 29 years and 200 pounds and race in the class that can’t stop pulling their triggers. Good Luck

ParticipantGreg, post a pic of them ice tires, I would like to see them. I am sure the best tires and spikes for ice racing would be
high priced yet unlike slicks, if they are treated well and only ran on ice they would last for a long time.I have had good results with the tires I have made to follow the rules of the Budweiser Event Races which require the
use of “THEIR” Silver Rocket Ice Screws that I purchase from http://www.icespeedway.com/ $80.00?
I use $15.00 13X5X6 snow hog snow blower tires mounted on 6″ wheels on all four corners. The taller narrow tire aids well with
ground clearance, higher VCG and side bite, but also causes bumper nerf bar and body clearance issues.
I have used these tires on booth my indoor Briggs racer and my First kart shifter as in the picture and they have held up to the
abuse so far.
Jay has been using plain rain tires with the silver rockets on his and his boys karts.
The screws are special chisel headed screws and work well for wheel to wheel action. Real spikes would be my choice but
I don’t think that would be the way to go unless we’re racing for blood. It is questionable as to using the Trout Clubs Lake for definite plans. The care taker Roy is getting hooked again on karts
as he has made his own home built kart using an old 340 cc snowmobile motor this summer and is waiting for the track to form.
I am a far weather ice racer and high mountain lakes don’t pay attention to race dates.
Another or more locations to do this is needed, Rainbow fails is a good possibility to as it is closer to the front range and
they all ready rent to bike and quad races there.I can help out, yet till the Bud Event is over with my efforts will be getting my little Briggs ice hockey rink oval racer ready to win.
I know at least Jay will have something up his sleeve for an attempt for his back to back wins.Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantMother Nature has been working over time to get our tracks ready for fun. Are you ready?
Jan. 9th is the bud event again and I am sure we’ll have some practice days before and after that date.
Our local group doesn’t limit what you can run, so if you feel the need to get your shifter or tag on some ice don’t hesitate.Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantJon, You’ll need to start with at least a 30 pack for your work week schedule. Wheaties might help if you top them off with a cup of sugar.
I had a great time other than having some problems with my helmet getting stuck in my chain during the finial. 😳Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantOK, It sounds like the place to be this Sunday!! Hope to see a bunch of old friends and competitors.

ParticipantGarrick, I try to save my luck for things that are beyond what I can prepare for. Small 1/4oz. stick on weights work well with a little duct tape applied over them. Bolt your rear wheels to a front hub and install on your front spindle then level the spindle.
Tap your king pin bolt or frame with a hammer till the heavy side of the tire rotates to the bottom. Place a weight @ 10 and 2 o’clock, then rotate a quarter turn and tap it again to see if your lucky. Then repeat with your fronts. Tapping is a little quicker than waiting for a free wheeling tire and wheel to stop spinning. Generally the thick rubber and valve stem is the imbalance and couple weights will cure it used on the stem side of the wheel.
Craig is moving back to Denver soon 😀Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantThanks for sharing Troy, Sure wish I could be there getting all giddy before each heat of battle.
It’s OK to leave some Love in Oklahoma. Just a note, Don’t Bump them after the race either. :joker

ParticipantRoman looked a little busy doing a little race prep with his hand inside his helmet.

ParticipantI see a 4 count so far you need 1 more for a race for the stimulus money.
Whats the rules?
Front Brakes?
Rotax, radiator / Jetting ?
Weight ?
Heat races ?Thanks

ParticipantPicture test of some winter fun…..Crap it’s a little large and I messed up most of my other good pictures while trying to reduce them. O well, I am not smarter than a fifth grader.[attachment=0:3ib6yemt]ice racing 043.jpg[/attachment:3ib6yemt]
