Jim, since round #2 was uphill, I assume round #4 will be down? Just checking.
Also, I know The Track is not normally open on Mondays. Will it be open for testing on Labor day?
Any other Round #4 news?
September 2, 2009 at 10:29 pm #63148Jeff FieldParticipantAnyone know? I’ll try to call the track tomorrow.
September 3, 2009 at 12:12 am #63149Kirk DeasonParticipantI’ve got some news:
Kirk Deason will be at Round 4.
September 3, 2009 at 5:18 pm #63150Jim KeeslingParticipantJeff,
We will be running CW (downhill) for Race #4.
Yes, we will be open on Monday.
Thanks for your interest.
I will post a more formal Press release soon to announce everything!
Thanks,
JimSeptember 7, 2009 at 11:07 pm #63151Kirk DeasonParticipantBOMBSHELL!!
Team HARDKart was seen at The Track this afternoon. Team Principal and main brain, Kirk Deason was behind the wheel of the number 102 Spec Moto. Deason was a mere three seconds off the pace but confident that if his crew could just set the darn thing up right, he would be fighting for victories. Deason kicked the kart, broke his toe, and hobbled off to his massive transporter. Confident sources tell us that team telemetry guru, Jeff Field, may indeed be driving this Sunday.
Check http://shifter102.blogspot.com for news!
September 8, 2009 at 1:12 am #63152stacey cookParticipantWe would really like to be there for the last event but have to be in Oklahoma. Good luck to all.
Good luck to all the Critical Zone racers.
Ben Shemerhorn- Pro Shifter/Tag Senior
Anthony Giannone Tag Senior
Kody Adcock- Pro Shifter/Tag Senior
Giovanni Velsasquez- Mini Max
Lucas Velasquez- Comer 50
Louie Velasquez- Tag MastersSeptember 8, 2009 at 9:48 pm #63153Jeff FieldParticipantThe rest of you guys know there is a race this weekend, right?
Word on the internet is that a few photographers captured some telling shots of Deason’s private test day. The team is denying that he was auditioning for Massa’s, err…, I mean, Field’s race seat for the remainder of the season.
September 8, 2009 at 11:02 pm #63154Mike JansenParticipantI checked the TTAC blog and it said #102 was getting passed by a grandma with her walker. They also said that the yellow tennis balls on the back of her walker were under scrutiny. The agony, the shame of it all!
I’ll be there, tanned and loaded for bear. Weather looks like it’ll cooperate too. And I LOVE going downhill. Nothing like that entry corner onto the main straight…
September 8, 2009 at 11:46 pm #63155Rick SchmidtParticipantI had heard a something about Deason going for Fields seat, again? Maybe you guys should get a room?
Mike Jansen
And I LOVE going downhill.
Oh Jansen! No one can tee em up like you!
September 9, 2009 at 3:31 am #63156Jeff FieldParticipantSpy shots. Young bucks, take some line notes.
September 9, 2009 at 2:54 pm #63157Kirk DeasonParticipantThank goodness Jansen and Schmidt are still around, I thought Field and I had the whole internet to ourselves. Team HARDKart/GMS is prepared for battle in motodomo spec light against a surging Jack Bradley and always strong Corey Milne. Darkhorse Logan Kirk is always a threat for a podium and we’ll be keeping an eye on his progress as the sessions wind down. Since Deason is mysteriously injured, it will be up to Field to put the #102 on the box. The points race is tight and the title will not be decided until SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY. Keesling will sell you the whole seat but you’ll only need the EDGE!!
September 9, 2009 at 7:49 pm #63158Mike JansenParticipanttypical rookie leaning INTO the corner…
who’s coaching you anyways???
:rotate:
September 9, 2009 at 8:42 pm #63159Rick SchmidtParticipantYes, yes, please note Jansens perfectly Erect driving posture! If you’re lucky Mr Deason, Jansen will train you personally!
Although you can’t see him, experts agree “he’s probably got a pretty good lean going on at the time of the following photo? Judging by the white knuckles sticking out of the door, one can assume he is feeding out a little TP with the other hand?
Then there is the “don’t look up my skirt” photo of Jansen. He is trying to explain to everyone why his eyes are so red? He said allergies? Or something?
September 9, 2009 at 8:56 pm #63160Rick SchmidtParticipantThese spy photo’s really tell the story of “The Shoe”
Kirk, if you ever get to the point of streching tires with a smooth technique known only to a few drivers in this era. You too will be there!
Please note: the hands below the knees technique perfected by Jansen (see previous photo) complimented by a VERY nice “pick up / stay up” of the inside tire. Smooth rotation, simply driving it through the corner. You know what they say “if you feel fast, you probably aren’t” God, I just got goose bumps :bow
September 9, 2009 at 10:10 pm #63161Mike JansenParticipantThat last photo was of PEPE my little mule. He really kicked and bucked. Then I learned how to adjust a chassis! I for the life of me cant figure out where that was.
Don’t let the other “paparazzi” photos fool you. Can you say PHOTOSHOP? And as any good lawyer would tell you: If you don’t see, it mustn’t be me! You guys creating havoc on a terlit. Have you no shame??? And yes, I had to cross my legs all Heterosexually challenged cuz Rick kept wanting to look at my package. I help Roman pick up girls at a Red Lion Inn after a CSC banquet and he’s STILL wanting me to share my mojo! I tell ya, it’s a good thing I have the aerodynamic ‘do nowadays or I’d be beatin’ em off like flies and it wouldn’t be fair to all you other guys.
Driving lessons start Sunday after the race. Check out the Deason/Fields/Jansen pits. Appointments strongly encouraged…
