ParticipantCurt, after 2 mechanical DNF’s in 5 races (and an 8th due to driver error :bang I’ll take you up on the offer of a (few) beers!
Rich, tttttttthe fact that Mikeala has to bring her pom poms and cheer (since her brother didn’t finish) doesn’t make me a happy camper but I still want me 20!

ParticipantTodd,
I agree with your right to break the seal. What I am asking is common sense to prevail and have an authorized Rotax center oversee and then have the seal replaced. The personnel are here to do that so we’re fortunate, that’s all. SKUSA is removing the option for us rotaxians to race in RMC races (I for one probably won’t race in their series but at least I have the OPTION to do so with my seal)
With SKUSA’s arrogant attitude I’ll be sipping beer or riding my mountain bike with Sam Walls on Nations Cup weekend.

ParticipantCurt, that is a sexist remark! Keesling has a pretty rear end too, or so they say. 8)
Chelsea gets my vote for Rookie of the year…
Rich, think of it as the Malaysian Grand Prix in karting! And they do it for 2 hours!

ParticipantWhy can’t we all just get along?!
Bill Ray’s point is well taken. Rushing only leads to mistakes and that is wrong since Kyle’s the one who paid the price.
So going too fast means your cheating? Wow that’s a real motivating factor to go out in 90 plus degree weather by yourself to test to get faster. And yes years of experience doesn’t factor into this either eh???
Like I said, Stock Honda’s looking better and better…
Zach, don’t let all of this get you down. People really are good and I think you can see this through the resulting posts.
Donal has a great idea of what they do in Europe. Might we give that a try?
Bill, you’re right time to get back to work – it’s less stressful!
We all can do better, can’t we?

ParticipantRich,
You’re right even breaking down I am going to vote for 20. Honestly we should only race a lap or two but I don’t think Roman would like that! 8)
Think of it this way: If you’re not going to the gym every morning this is a great cardio workout for your money!
Roman! Great job! You deserved P1. And thanks for throwing in the drama by handicapping us at the starts on the heat race and the main!

ParticipantFirst of all let’s set the record straight:
I don’t know if Seth had his sealed engine torn down in post race tech but what I do know is Zach Gillis’s engine was for his P3 finish in TaG Senior. Here’s a kid who PAYS FOR HIS RACING OUT OF HIS OWN POCKET (that’s right, Mom and Dad don’t sponsor him) and you have basically screwed this kid. Did his engine or Seth’s pass tech? Ubetcha! When Zach came back from tech with his engine in pieces I blew a gasket and politely asked Rusty why that was. He told me they shouldn’t tech a sealed rotax engine.
Didn’t we learn a damned thing from last year? Or are we going to ignore history and repeat the same mistakes again?
Last year everyone thought the Welch’s were cheating when they wouldn’t allow their engines to be torn down. I side with Doug, if you want to protest then pay me the money to have a rotax dealer recertify it. That was clearly the outcome from that fiasco.
Okay, so the politics of karting meant that Brad didn’t become the Authorized Rotax service center nor did Barry at Billet. But if memory serves me correctly Trent and Stacey’s shops are Authorized Rotax service centers. Didn’t anyone THINK to ASK them if they could come over and oversee what post race tech was doing? Then they could reseal the engines if the drivers put them back together in front of them (hey novel idea, bring along a torque wrench and it would be done in 10 minutes tops. The drivers/winners then have a sealed engine so they can race a RMAX challenge race IF THEY WANT. Read that again, a resealed engine gives that driver the option to race a RMAX race IF THEY WANT. Dane, Duff, Rich Vito et, al…
Todd Bellew, shame on you. If you really feel the way of your post then I for one want to have no part of your party. You look into the eyes of a promising talent like a Zach Gillis and tell him you screwed him and then I’ll think you’re a man otherwise you are a coward, period…. Again let me emphasize that you just made a High school kid spend extra money so that he can race a SKUSA sanctioned event and because of your arrogance and the arrogance of SKUSA (which you represent) you eliminated his chance to race at a RMAX event! This kid is a newbie, I THOUGHT we in the karting community were to promote the sport and promote competition and sportsmanship. If you’re post is accurate what you are saying is screw everyone else’s sandbox, ours is best. That attitude worked on the promoto tour, didn’t it? But I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you screwed up and were trying to promote SKUSA and that you’ve had time to realize what you wrote in your post was just something said in the heat of the moment, right? Then I’ll take back my comment of being a coward and saying something in the heat of the moment.
Now again to summarize the situation so that maybe we can learn from history and not repeat the same mistake my solution would be to kindly ASK either of the Rotax service center representatives to oversee tech so that these engines can be resealed. This can be a viable solution couldn’t it?
I for one LIKE the sealed engine concept but if you really feel the need to check them for cheating (someone desperate enough to cheat for a plastic trophy is a pathetic loser anyway) then pay the money to reseal them out of CSC/SKUSA funds if the engines pass tech.
Stock Honda shifter class is looking better and better.
I’d like to see an answer to this before Steamboat please. And I’d also like to know what we’re going to do for Zach Gillis, he deserves better. And so does Seth Chapa if his engine’s seal was broken also.

ParticipantI’ll settle it for you both…
I talked to Mikaela and she said would a passport do? 😆
Mike Jansen
ParticipantYou said it Rich
I’ll see you after 20 laps Sunday

ParticipantAlex,
They should erect a monument to Gilles. Enzo Ferrari said he was like the son he never had. He absolutely grabbed the car by the scruff of the neck and wrung it for all it had. Ayrton Senna reminded me of that quality.
If you ever have a chance to see archival footage of Gilles races you’ll see something we’ll probably never see again since no one drove like he did. And he had honour. He could have (and should have) won the driver’s championship in 79 but adhered to team orders set up earlier in the year and let his teammate take the title. Check out Monaco races and Eau Rouge in Belgium… :bow
That’s how I am going to drive at IMI at month’s end! Rich, Charles, Lee are you ready??? No pom poms for me, I’ve got a DNF to rectify!
:check
Mike Jansen
ParticipantWell, you updated the smilies so i upgraded my signature. Everyone knows I lobbied for the 20 laps and now it’s time for some knowledge or history. Check it out…
That’s how racing’s SUPPOSED to be…
And yes, I was around to witness this…Mike Jansen
ParticipantWell, since we went clockwise last CSC race I’d have to assume that we’re going counterclockwise this time.
Right Brad?
Besides, clockwise you have a tendency to have mechanical breakdowns and DNF… :barf
That doesn’t happen going counterclockwise :banana

ParticipantHey, I have finished the last race from start to finish! And it will continue so ease up there trigger!
:k
BTW I have my GJ tires, they only have 11 laps and 6 corners on em…
Mike Jansen
ParticipantDoug,
I’d be interested in it, date dependant.
I’ve niether run at CRE nor THE TRACK at Centennial so either would be good choices…Mike Jansen
ParticipantI’m out unless I get my “mikey do’s” done in time saturday. Actually I have a prior commitment and won’t be there this weekend in Masters…
🙁
Mike Jansen
ParticipantCurt,
I think I’ll pass. next thing you know I’ll bicycle a corner, get taken out from behind or have a dead battery issue.
Then again, I didn’t have to use pom poms from my sister since i DID finish in Junction!
I’m in. How ’bout them costs Jim? What about the “pain and suffering” discount since the track had an overrun? 8)
