    Angie,

Very fun/funny. Took a minute to figure it out, but then “knocked” out a couple of decent hits. Best hit was 292 and change. Poor penguins…LMAO…

    Freeze,

No I did not buy Doug’s SwedeTech. I have Sam Walls’ motor that he won the Pro class in 2003 with. As far as why the top level of the shifters is called Pro ICC, at the beginning of the year, Jim contacted me about who could be running pro this year with a Moto. At the time, I could only think of a couple of people who might run pro with a Moto. Since the first of the year, we have had those people either drop out of racing or move to other classes/motors. Most of the people you see racing in Pro ICC are racing at the national level with STARS. STARS is ICC only for 125’s. That is why you don not see anybody racing here in the Pro class with a Moto. As far as competivness of the Moto vs. ICC, I would take my Built Moto over an ICC anyday. My Moto has at least the legs if not more than the ICC’s I have raced against this year. The problem with a highly built Moto is you have got to be dead nuts on with the jettting and also with chassis setup. The Moto requires a different chassis setup to get the power to the track because of the way it “hits”. Hope this helps.

Because we have to sell the fuel

Ok, first off we were told at the meeting that Big T was the only supplier for the CSC races and that they would be there on race day. Next we were told we could buy our fuel before race day to avoid hangups with purchasing fuel on race day, we were encouraged to buy our fuel early because then there was less of a chance to screw up the schedule do to people not having fuel in time for their races do to long lines to purchase fuel. So now, those of us who already purchased fuel early to avoid delays on race day have to spend extra money just to race the first race. That can put a crimp on early season budgets for the racers. Not to mention that some of the racers, who only use maybe a gallon a race now have tons of extra fuel and if each track stocks up on fuel to sell and then requires that each entrant buy 5 gallons on race day, at the end of the season they have about 60 gallons sitting around!

Next, just what is the price of the fuels and the oils????

You will be required to buy 5 gallons of fuel and 1 bottle if oil with your entry at GJMS this weekend…….

    Stacey,

What is the price for the 3 types of fuel, per gallon, and also what is the price of the 2 types of oil, per bottle? Also why do we have to buy 5 gallons?

only old aviation equipment used lockwire, as no effective locknuts etc were available.

Next time you are around any, both old and new, aircraft, take a close look. You will see safety wire used in a lot of places. The reason for this is simple, whenever you have vibration, you have the opportunity for ANY locking fastener loosening up. Nylock nuts are only good for applications that are not in a heat zone. Anywhere you have heat, the nuts need to be metal lock type and, as a “safety”, safety wire.

    Doug,

Can you give us an idea about who you have had calls from and what classes? Also can you give a starting point for gearing for a moto 125 shifter?

    Thanks,

Last year there were 3 kart racers there I think, Phillip Metzger, Andy Lange and myself. There were a lot of car racers there. The entry fee was kind of steep, $1250.00 per entry, but the proceeds went to charity. The kart racers really beat up on the rest of the entries, with Andy finishing third, Phillip second and myself winning the event. It was a lot of fun. All three of us get in again this year, so I am really looking forward to the event this year. If you can, everybody should come out and join in, great cause and fantastic racing.

    Bill,

First of all, I am sorry your kart comes in at that much weight! When we met at the end of January, the SKUSA rules had not even been posted. Had they been posted I am sure there would have been discussion on the topic!!! SKUSA has completed their testing and have evidently found a discrepany in performance. They have probably lowered the weights to keep the moto’s on the same plane as the ICC’s. We all say we want fair and equal competition! All I am asking is that we try to level the playing field as close as possible. I am not asking for a major rework in the rules. I just want to be competitive. I would also like to have the rules finallized so that I can finsh up my kart and begin testing.

Ok, thank you Brad for answering my question. I do not remember the topic being brought up at the meeting, but there was a lot discussed at the meeting. So who knows where I can get filters for our airboxes, specific part numbers/manufacturers and prices? I am all for the noise issue, but am worried about performance issues with the airbox anddo not want to sandblast my cylinder and piston everytime I go out. Bill, I am planning on running in the Pro class this year.
