ParticipantHey everyone:
I know we ALL are passionate about our kids, racing, and life in general but do you think we can all present ourselves in a better light?
Brian, I’m singling you out. I understand you are proud of your son and that I understand. You feel that you’re being wronged at a few tracks here in Colorado and that the CSC is a POS. You are entitled to your opinion. However, speaking only for myself I’m tired of hearing negative crap all the time. Be part of the solution or disengage. But don’t let this forum be your soapbox, we’ve all heard it before. God Bless ya and good luck in your endeavour into STARS.
I’m also reiterating the same about George and the other track owners. Can’t we just get along or agree to disagree? We know your stances. Many of us know the backgrounds.
So on this leadup to a national holiday and a weekend of racing let’s try to be kinder and gentler to our fellow American, then beat his or her brains out on the field of competition and shake hands afterwards. 8)
Y’all know why we have the additional day off? It’s to remember the gallant few who sacrificed THEIR lives to ensure our freedom in this great country called America. Hopefully this weekend you’ll remember this when the Star Spangled Banner is sung. Go up and give Roger Bonham and any other person who’s served in the Armed Forces a “thank you” and a pat on the back. And think of Michael Hurley who’s in harms way at this very moment. A simple prayer for him and his fellow soldiers will suffice.
Let’s put this CSC racing thing in perspective.
 :us

ParticipantWell said Mike. Hopefully Brian and the rest of the negitive attitudes can start solving problems, and stop creating them. Life is too short. This is not F1.
All the ladies can hug me too, USN Air 1970-1976, VQ1 Squadran on Guam with many detachments to Viet Nam. Should hug me after Rodger to feel what real shoulders feel like. 😆

InactiveIt seems to me some of us act like we are racing for big money. The best thing I have got so far out of the CSC is great friends. To me that’s what it is all about!!

InactiveGreat post Mike,
It is getting a little grating. It is certainly easy to critique others and frankly, if he is that unhappy, (as much as I hate to see a racer go away) maybe that would be best. He has made some pretty sharp remarks with little regard to others. His son seems to be an awesome young man and racer! Brian just seems to be over the top.

ParticipantCraig, I’m having fun now. Once Renault realized that at my height I couldn’t FIT in an F1 car they tore up my contract. Of course, if they’d have listened to Ferrari they’d have known all along. How do you think Schumi and Alonso got their seats? 8)
I LOVE the competition and comeraderie that my class and other karters exhibit. Nothing like beating each other’s brains and tossing a cold one afterwards. To the kids who look up to us I just hope that we always set a good example in competition and sportsmanship. You can be a FAST driver and be a good sport about it. Heaven knows I’ve had my share of adversity yet I’ve tried to set a good example. Y’all have fun in Greeley.

InactiveMike,
Great post!!!!! As I was reading it, I stood up and saluted the hot mama that was walking outside of my house wearing a red shirt and white skirt…GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!
Why aren’t you racing in Greeley this week? Your feet too sore from your bedrock brake system that you have on the GP?

Participant“You go!”, Mike. While I’m new to the CSC and haven’t met a lot of you yet I would like to say I agree with the sentiment on this post 100%. We live in a great country and get to enjoy great activities (like racing). I’ve met a lot of good people in the CSC so far and hope to meet many more. As for the few who never have anything positive to share, I hope they do go their own way and leave the CSC for those who want good, fun, clean racing.
As we enjoy ourselves this weekend, I hope we all take time to pause and reflect upon those who have given so much so that so many could enjoy so much for so long to come.

ParticipantThanks everyone.
I’d like y’all to go up to Greeley and show people what fun we have, how we conduct ourselves and the spirit of our sport.
Also, you don’t have to wear a tux up there but give that suit of yours a washing before you go. Wear a nice pair of shorts and shirt to dispell the thought that we’re all a bunch of grease monkeys with nothing better to do with our time (it might be true but no one else needs to know!)Dennis, as much as it pains me to skip Greeley the chance to see my folks takes precedence over this race. I actually love hanging with my pops and mom. And to do it at the Indy 500 makes for priceless memories.
BTW… My dad has driven an Indy car at Vegas, had a half shaft snap and go through that infield sideways at 150-160 but he STILL talks about going around the IMI backstretch corner and spinning into the weeds in your kart! Another priceless memory!May 24, 2006 at 11:42 pm #53946hotwheels1517
ParticipantMike,
No problem in singleing me out. I speak my mind out loud in print and in person. I do not think the CSC is a P.O.S. however I am very dissapointed at the direction it seems to be going. That is why my son is not racing in it this year. Last year was wonderful in my opinion even with some of the desicions I disagreed with. I did go to the pre season meeting so I do feel wronged by the decisions made behind the scenes. Am I upset with any one person in the CSC the answer is no. There is only one Track owner I have no use for and if I wouldn’t be arrested I would be more than willing to take care of him. I don’t think we have ever met in person if we have sorry I don’t recall it. I do speak my mind rather it is the popular opinion or not. On to my son everybody that knows him thinks he’s wonderful if Im so far out there how does that happen? I am a single and very proud parent to my son and as the saying goes the apple does not fall far from the tree. Yes racing is to be fun, but i would not waste my money racing if it was only the fun we were seeking.
Brian Moore
P.S. You all have a wonderful weekend racing in Greely and enjoy memorial day.I will be remembering all my friends that I served with in Special Warfare Group 1, as well as those that gave the ultimate sacrifice.

InactiveMike,
Tell your pops I said hello. Now that I’ve stopped laughing, that was such an awesome weekend. Take this for what it’s worth, but I think it fits in well with this discussion:
As someone who truly enjoyed karting while I was in Colorado and as someone who disagreed with some of the same powers as hotwheels…..I wish for nothing more than to be back in karting and racing week in and week out. You really don’t know what you have until it’s gone. South Carolina rocks; the ocean, the weather, the endless golf but nothing will ever replace Colorado karting. I guess that’s why I still get on here and post.

Participant:sun: I remember going to a small dirt track in the old home town on this special weekend and not only saluting the troops from the past put also the present. We also listen to the radio to hear the results of the five hundred. I was able to get a an Air Force color guard for the Greeley race.
I urge everyone to remember who we are and what we stand for and how we got to where we are today and say thanks for the ones who have paid the ultimate price. Ladies and gentleman start your engines, race safe and proudMay 25, 2006 at 12:09 pm #53949Anonymous

InactiveMy son and I are new to the CSC and new to racing. We have only raced 3 races in our lives. First being the club race at The Track and the first 2 CSC races. I regret that we will be missing the Greely race as my son and I have a pact that we will never miss the Indy 500 as long as we are alive. As I am standing for the Star Spangled Banner along with the other 500,000 people tears will be running down my face. I want to thank all the men and women who have served this country and to everyone that is still in harms way. You are the reason we are able to race.
As for the CSC, I am very humbled to be a part of it. I have made so many friends in a short period of time. I have received so much help including advice and parts to put on our kart at the tracks when we needed them. The list of names are to many to mention but you know who you are. When competitors and especially competitors in your own division help people out is the ultimate in sportsmanship.
All of us at the CSC have the opportunity to make this the premier sporting organization in the State if not in the Country. I have no doubt about that.
Once again I want to thank everyone for all of your help and will be seeing everyone at Bandi.
