My understanding is that Brad is the distributor for them, and he’s sold several so far. Yet another innovative new product he’s introduced :sun:.

Richard – so how will this blowout sale work? An open house? Silent auction? What time will it be?

Seems like the weekend is getting pretty busy between the golf tournament and customer party. And something else…oh, yeah – racing.

Wow. It took 9 posts before the word “Viagra” showed up on this topic. What took you guys so long?

There are also a few class sponsorships still open – I’m sure Angie would really love it if you signed up for one of those . :sun:

Just for the record, there was no plan to delay the release (well, maybe it was my wife’s plan). I’d actually sent it to ekartingnews a day earlier but their editor’s a busy guy too. Thanks for the cover though, Brad.

Sorry for some inaccuracies on the chassis and engine – I’m trying to get them all corrected for the SKI article. Which should be in your next issue, by the way.

And, so you know, Rick has been really nice to me since he started this post.

Sorry about discussing your flip, Duff, but they always got around to asking about accidents, and I’d show them evidence of the worst one I’d seen in my 2 years of watching races. Especially the part where you walked away. It says alot for our safety record. The motocrossers were especially impressed.

The booth, and your organizational abilities, were fantastic! You represent us very well.

    Thanks!

Did anyone notice that Mikey’s pith helmet was in the feature article on ekartingnews yesterday? They specifically asked for a shot of it, after hearing the rumours.

I will weigh in on this subject later, I promise; it’s too complex to handle during lunch.

    Mike –

Just a little background on K80 prices:
    Used on ebay: $300 – $1100 (if a Woltjer/Fleming/Pitts, more $$)
New, stock (with clutch and exhaust): ~$800
Blueprinted, advertised price: $1100-$5200 😯 (not kidding)

In other words, this is probably the worst example of out-of-control blueprinting in karting.

If all of those 11 engines are from a name tuner, you could buy a pretty nice ICC. Just don’t sell ’em all at once, or the market will be flooded and the price will go down….

    Russ –

I plan on being there, and can help Mindy out. I’ll also try to haul a kart down.

Was Brad at all serious about a Honda GX200 program for the Junior 1’s? If so, it might make a nice substitute for the K80 class. We’d sign up for that, for sure.

I think the Yardleys, Moores, and other K80 owners (like from CRE) need to be heard from, as their vote counts more than mine, but sealed K80’s sound like a headache especially statewide.

What’s good for the baby goose should be good for the gosling, right?

Also, is/was the plan to allow the K80s to run with the MiniMaxes and Animals? That would determine the minimum number required.

Mike, I just thought of an interesting parallel. Let me modify your opening statement just a bit:

How an American team won the championship in Champ Car I’ll never know. Oh, that’s right they had a Frenchman for a driver!!!

It was a very wise TaG Masters driver who once said “for every finger you point, three point back at you”. I really like that guy 😀 .

    Duff –

Yet another example of your incredible generosity! Not to mention high horsepower organizational skills.

This overlaps some of my responsibilities for the race, so you can count on my help for a few things:
    – The “starting karting” handout – I’ve already started a write up for Greeley to use, so we need to collaborate on the text
    – A shifter kart for display. I won’t be racing. I promise to make it pretty.
    – Booth time. I plan on working with local and karting press people and doing race reports, but can and should set some time to be in there. Luc can probably help out too.

I’m sure I’ll think of other things.

    Thanks!

I’ll be coming down from Ft. Collins; if anyone from here or Loveland wants a free ride down to the meeting, give me a call (970.215.3093).

    Thanks, Curt and Rusty!

Any Fort Collins/Loveland area folks who’d like a free ride to the meeting (read: “designated driver”)? Just send me a pm and let me know. I have room for 4-5 more in the luxury van.

You guys are sick. Didn’t you watch “March of the Penguins”? How could you even consider whacking a cute, defenseless animal???
