ParticipantBrad @ IMI has one. I’ve seen it on the kart but not on the track. Maybe that’s why Brad has a smile on his face more than ever…

ParticipantI have seen it on the track in Florida. It’s faster than an ICC.

Participant5 or 6 grand and YOU TOO can have one of these monster motors! I saw someone (not sure if it was brad or not) driving it at IMI and I was blown away. Brad says he passes shifters almost at will. What an impressive engine.

ParticipantMy understanding is that Brad is the distributor for them, and he’s sold several so far. Yet another innovative new product he’s introduced :sun:.

Inactiveyep that is what Colorado karting needs:
more engine types more chassis and finally
MORE CLASSES!

ParticipantCmon Rich, you are just trying to stir up the hornets’ nest again. You know this wild engine will NOT become a class that races, at least until Brad creates some kind of outlaw ‘unlimited’ class where anything goes. Turbo Biland? sounds like a good addition to the outlaw class along with a 450 4-stroke. Kidding, but seriously anyone who can afford one is probably buying it with the intention of having it as a ‘fun’ motor, and not with the idea of trying to force it into the CSC.

Here is an interesting thread started by Colorado’s own Charlie Schiendzlos (sp? sorry chuck) back in 04.

Also, ask Brad at IMI, he may have some connections or a web address. Per the discussion (above) the engine put out 65hp in ‘production’ form (with a turbo, i assume). That is kicking that silly little wankel thingy into the dirt. Heyyyyyy, maybe this ‘unlimited’ racing might have some legs? Anyone with lots of money wanna sponsor me? OK, let me rephrase: Will anyone with this much money allow me to work on their kart?
Mitch, I’m sure as a Biland owner you have visited this guy’s site but he has LOTS of good info and connections with the manufacturer. http://www.lumenique.com (kevin willmorth)
Brad..do you have any leads or info about a turbo?

InactiveKirk,

ParticipantThere were only a couple turbo Bilands built and there was quit a bit of plumbing. You would be better off buying a XR-50 if you want the most power. The XR-50 is capable of producing 65 hp without a turbo with just a few changes to the ignition and carb. Most of the people interested in buying one just want a very fast, easy to drive, highly reliable, 300+ hours before rebuild, electric start engine that will beat anything on the track if they could drive it. It would be nice if we had ten people that wanted to race them, and then we could talk about making a class.
