ParticipantGood morning,
This post comes from Jim Keesling the racer and not The Track at Centennial. Please don’t confuse CSC with a race as a go or no-go.
I plan on racing at Greeley this year. It should be fun, but part of the CSC or not shouldn’t make any difference to the racer. GO, have fun, try your best, promote the sport.
Don’t think that because it is not a points race it is any less of a race. The SuperNationals aren’t part of any series, nor is Rock Island. It doesn’t make any difference. They are great races. GGP should be looked at the same way…One Great Race. Plan on going if it fits into YOUR schedule.
My two cents…
Jim (the racer)

ParticipantThe problem is not with the radio channel, but the batteries. After time, they wont hold a charge for longer than a few hours. You can’t pull them apart ( I know, I tried) and put in a new rechargable battery.
AMB has a trade in for about $65-95.00 each.
So,
what to do?
The hard part is spending the $240? on a new one. It took me 3 years to buy one, however, now that I have it, I use it all the time.
Thanks,
JimJim Keesling
ParticipantHello,
To “pea picK”, we pick your grid position out of a hat, heats decide the grid for the main. No qualifying.
Thanks,
JimJim Keesling
ParticipantThe AMB transponders are what you want. All the tracks use the AMB system.
I would over the winter get one. Brads batteries are getting worn out, and it really is part of the racing equipment.
Since this is more for fun, we can grid by “pea-pick” and not even worry about timing.
Stay tuned…

ParticipantSorry for the late reply.
The results are posted on Mylaps. The Gorilla suits were all used during the Denver Gorilla Run the day before, so none made it to the track for Sundays event.
Great day, lots of kid karts and a bunch of new racers.
Thanks to all that helped.

ParticipantThanks to everyone that came out to race yesterday.
My hat is off to the kid kart class with 14 entries and some top shelf racing. We really had a “photo finish” with the first two places. The photo couldn’t even pick out the winner, so it was decided by the scoring system to let us know the winner.
Cole really showed his experience in the mini-max class smoothly driving away from the field with speed and grace, as well as putting himself 4-6 in the shifter class with Jack Bradley (the only two 80 drivers).
Jack Warrington gets the arrive – leave- arrive with kart – get dressed –unload kart – put in gas – start in the back of the whole field for the main only – move to the front for a first place masters win!
Great stuff! Birels do work!
As we get thru the winter months, keep an eye on our site and weather conditions, as The Track will try a race once a month weather permitting…
I will post on Friday or Thursday if any forecast looks good.
Thanks again for everyones support this first season for The Track at Centennial.Bye for now,

ParticipantRick,
Yup, but not with my sorry old butt driving it. Kyle turned a 54? in it with really old tires and traffic…Jim Keesling
ParticipantAngie,
Thanks for the correction.Kyle Ray still holds The Track at Centennial Track Record of 52.048 seconds.
Yup, that’s Fiftytwopointzerofoureight!!!
I can’t wait to see the 51’s and who it will be….
Staying tuned

ParticipantActually…
Congratulations to KYLE RAY for setting a new Track Record.I love all the other comments that have no idea what this is all about…
Way to go Kyle…

ParticipantJed,
You are right! Those who choose to practice will be faster.
Those who don’t will be at a disadvantage.
I never won a race at IMI because others always practiced there and I didn’t practice as much.
I can not change the weather, however, I do know that there are not enough hours of daylight to run a full round and finish before dark. This is race #9 of the Colorado Sprint Championships. Game on!!!
We have been running the Track this direction for 3 weeks now, and a club race for those who wanted to practice what we will be racing. I’m sorry you couldn’t make it out this past month.Good luck to all who show up to race.
Best regards,
JimJim Keesling
ParticipantWhoops…

ParticipantGary,
Becasue at the club level, the motor doesn’t make any difference for what we are doing. Greg Welch, driving the exact same motor as you is faster than the Pro ICC. That is a fact. In 4+ years of racing, I have learned that 90% of your lap time is driver ability. You wont see your situation unless a driver is sandbagging. So what, several trophies, and up to the next level.
Easy…
Thanks,
JimJim Keesling
ParticipantHow about this…
License levels based on YOUR time…
S1,S2,S3 light and heavy. (S is for Shifter)
Light class is at 375, Heavy at 420.
No motor tech. Spec tires, safety requirements (pretech sheet), spec fuel.
Grid based on qualifying time 1st. race of the season only. Following grid based on last race finish. Didn’t come to the last race? start in the back.
This is for the gearbox karts.
TaG still follow TaGUSA rules and weights, however, still a laptime based class level. T1,T2,T3 (T is for TaG).If you run a lap time under 54 seconds at The Track, you are a S1 license, 54.001- 57.0, S2 license, 57.001 and up S3 license.
Lap times under 57.0 a T1 license, 57.001 – 58.5, T2 license, 58.501 and over, T3.Until we get a full field of 30+ karts, we won’t split the field. Learning to drive in traffic and different speed karts is part of the game. Just going to have to deal with the learning curve.
Too many people are spoiled by 6 karts on the track and plenty of room.
Time to step it up from all levels. If you plan on competiting at a National level, you had better put you kart to their specs and be ready. No need to blame the local guy for not caring.
Similar for junior karts.
Food for thought.
