Many of you who seem to have strong opinions were not around here way back when SKUSA first got started with a great program , only to see them change rules to benefit one or two of their favorites — even just before the last race of the season! Now I am not suggesting that the new owners may or may not make the “knee-jerk” decisions the old management did in the past, but we have catered to SKUSA for several years , only to get more of the same type of thinking , so I vote for a wait and see position for 006 .

I did not glean any mention in Tom’s speech about how they intend to grow the sport ie: what about the entry level classes for shifter racers ???

I wonder how many modified 80 and 125cc shifter karts are sitting in garages all over the country gathering dust because not one of the Sanctioning Gods has taken the trouble to de-tune the thousands of moto motors for entry level classes!

The “stock Honda” sounded like a good idea —- untill they allowed the Pro’s to enter that class — it should be S-3 or an Entry Level class ! It amazes me how the sanctioning Gods can always take a good idea and royally screw up the whole concept every time !

De-tuning by the way can be done very cheaply by insisting on small carburator ,stock ignition and an exaust restrictor.

Whats my point , you say ? Simply put we need an inexpensive way to get newbies into our sport, both ways , when first buying a race kart , and having a market to sell the used ones.

If SKUSA does not want to accomodate the new racers , why should we accmodate them ??

    Regards, J.B.

The key thing Merchandise mart or other locations do not have is loads of people wanting to rent or purchase karts , —- on a busy week-end Sat or Sun — we would have as many as 250 excited Kart renters — and a place for people to try out their new (used) kart !

We are considering having one here at Action Karting — potential to sell to renters , etc , etc

Bobby, the heaviest weight division is the G-1 Shifter class at 410 lbs kart & driver — the kart weigs about 200 lbs —

You still need to lose a little .

    Sorry bout that.

Michael , it seems you have a lot of complaints for someone who has not even started as yet .
Perhaps if you would give our karting “family” a chance , you would find several drivers and shop owners ready and willing to welcome you into the fold so to speak.
We do a lot of coaching for our clients , showing everything from tuning to basic repairs on your equipment .
I hope the best for you , and sincerely hope you will join our quest ,your insights will be helpful .

Greg , I kinda feel your post was directed to me ,so I’ll try to help if it is possible for you to gather up the huge group of loyal Briggs racers you indicate there is .

Stand up and be counted — If there is more than 3-4 Briggs racers who will make the committment necessary to attend ALL the scheduled races , maybe, just Mabey , I can convince the other race tracks and all the other racers to justify the extra time it will take to accomodate your small group !

One thing in life you can be sure of Greg , is that change is one constant that you cannot stop from happening ! Perhaps it is time for you to make a few changes too ?

I notice every now and then a loyal KT-100 driver will show up and say “why don’t the CSC let KT 100’s race in ??

We did not “86” any classes you did it to yourselves by natural attrition , the past is gone forever , come see me , maybe I can make you a deal on a Leopard package !

Jim ,Ask any kart shop owner who has consignment karts for sale who is the most likley buyer for used shifter karts , Newbies — you expect them to race with the pro drivers entering the Stock Honda class ??
I think Brad has at least 20 used shifters with no-one to sell them to — I must wonder how many other shops accross the country have a similar situation ??

We need an entry level 125 shifter class badly , the way things stand right now SKUSA has cut the legs off their main feeder program , that being the Newbies , not the pros who want to beat up on the new drivers !

Anyway , untill SKUSA changes it’s attitude about the new guys and gals , I have little use for them .

    Greetings to all ,

Based upon the info we have gotten , the Greeley G.P. sounds like a terriffic idea , benefiting each and every one of us , wether we are aspiring racers who want to pursue a related career supporting any form of racing , or would just want to be a spectator watching several of our youngsters make it to the big time !

It all starts here , It seems that the city of Greely wants to make Kart Racing their MAIN EVENT , that being the case , I can see having such an event could make it a lot eaiser for racers to get sponsorship monies by bringing Kart Racing to the forefront of family fun !

Business owners ,celebrities , as well as news media could be brought into the excitement of an event like this — exposure is what we really need !

Do you remember the first time you ever witnessed a Kart Race ????

Exciting wasn’t it ? Everything from 5 yr olds , teenyboppers as well as 60 yr olds bonded together with a common tread , “tire tread” .

We all know how difficult it is to try to tell anyone the difference between a “go-cart’ and a Race Kart is , don’t we ? Heres our chance to “Show and Sell” the idea !

As many of you know , Ann-Louise and I have put enormous effort and money into promoting Kart Racing , and are willing to help again to make this happen for You !

    Immagine

You fill in the rest of the story !

    We care , J.B. / Ann-Louise

Since many people want inexpensive Kart racing , I’ve often wondered why we do not have the Honda 4-strokes instead of Briggs ?

We at Action Karting have almost 20 Honda 6.5 engines with 2-1 transmissions using 428 chains that seem to run forever !

Most of these Motors have been In our rental fleet for nearly 4 years now , other than changing oil every few months they seem to be indestructable !

We currently rent TAG karts with Leopard motors and seldom do top-end re-builds! Seems to me both types of motors are relatively cheap and dependable !

For a guy who does not support any of the tracks or even the CSC , I find it intresting that you want to destroy the best kart racing program Colorado has ever had availible !

Each of us Brad, Stacy, Angie as well as our team at Bandimere have worked our butts off to make this very successful program availible for the fun/thrill seekers as well as the great guys and gals who want to make racing a carreer , now comes a non-supporter wanting to throw it all away !

What was you thinking when you posted ???

We tried a few years back to race at Salt Lake and if my memory serves me , we were told that the track could not be used on Saturdays !

If my memory serves me correctly

In all the years Mr.Durbin served himself as the IKF regional director , he refused to sanction any other track than his own for IKF events .

Why should we believe his self serving attitude would have changed since
becoming the WKA regional director ?
