Participant“At the track in the kart axle bend would take twenty and a six pack.”
How did you read?…” to check the straightness of a whole kart on your jig is $20?”
Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantRich, as you know, being a Master and bending things there is a lot of “Depends” involved. 😛 A bare axle out of the kart is $20.00. At the track in the kart axle bend would take twenty and a six pack.

ParticipantTony,
Sounds like something may be a little off. Get a magnetic base dial indicator stand and dial on it to find what, where and how much.
The “Get Bent Racing” table will be at The Track the 13th- 17th if you need some help.Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantRSOTAK,
My thoughts are, if your going to buy one axle replace your medium, soft axles bend easier.Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantAs an experienced dirt pilot I would suggest spraying cleaners and then lubes into booth front and rear sealed bearings. If not your replacement time line will decrease.
The companies name is Duggans Petroleum that I buy the McCleaner for the Mckart wash. They sell the solvent from a regular gas station pump so take an empty fiver to buy some.Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantRsotak,
I can probably straighten your old medium while you see how a soft axle feels in your kart. I’m located in Grant Co.Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantI need to sell a 88 Ford extended 1 ton window van 351w throttle body fuel injection 199,000 miles runs great, never driven on Sundays.
$3600.00Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantTony’s helmet is cool. I want one with a big wing and head tie downs.
BooBy, I’m not like a lot of other racers. That buy their high speed internet.
I have to down load it at 28.8 Kbps
I work at it, not just sit back and gaze at it.
😛
It’s fricken snowing again…… At least it’s a warm snow.Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantLOL Doug, I think I witnessed some of your frustration back then.
Helmet preferences? Well lets see, we have talked about Brands and how pretty they need to be. But no discussion about mandatory safety regulation preferences for karting. Be careful and don’t buy one that will be out dated sooner than the shine wears off.Heck as long as we are picking on Tony let me get a Jab at his Tag line.
“Im not like a lot of racers, I cant go out and buy my speed.
I work at it.
I actually work at this, not just sit back and throw alot of money in to it.
I work Till I collapse”- Tony LaPortaSorry but to me that is a little insulting to me any way. Just who are the “a lot of racers” in karting that are fast and don’t work at it? The only bad thing about the few rich guys that can throw money at it, is that they must be smarter than I am or I’d be fast and rich.
Don’t pick on the rich guys, we need them to pay our taxes, provide great used equipment, a place to play and some one to work for so we can buy more speed.
I can only hope some day I will grow up and be just like them.Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantCharger,
I don’t see a Jim on this page of posts so I’ll give ya my 2 cents. Welcome to Colorado Karting. The age group and classes Tag/Rotax Masters is the most popular class of sprint racing there is in Colorado. Look at the results post from the first two IMI/The Track club series, click on mylaps and see that there are twenty some old fast guys mixing it up in the TAG Masters class, which if you have a Rotax motor and your an old karter like me it’s the ticket to all the racing even a young racer could hope to find. I am glad you have made it to this site just in time to get involved with this group of old racers as one of the best racing series in the US is just around the corner. The CSC Series is a well coordinated and convenient 7 race series at three tracks and Grand final on a temporary course with its first event to start on the 21st & 22nd of June at the super fast, smooth and most accommodating track in the state, in Grand Junction. I know it’s a little trip to get there yet the organizers realize this so we will have double events each weekend crowning the champion clockwise racer on Saturday and the counter clockwise champion on Sunday which will be a great test to anyones skills of racing. The other two double header weekends will be held at IMI and at “The Track”
click this link for more details http://www.coloradokartracing.com I was a spoiled Rotax Master last year as the Rotax Nationals was held at “The Track” last year which made rotax only classes big in the state, while Tag Masters grew as well. While this year Rotax only racing has faded down to hand full of racers competing to attend the National event in Wisconsin this fall.
Chris, I don’t know your racing back ground yet if you miss this exciting series of kart racing I do know you will have missed the best racing experience a racer could hope to find. The Masters will be there and I hope I can help you be there too. Good LuckRodney Ebersole
ParticipantSheldon, Just send a check for $50.00 and I’ll register your number in my memory bank. :bs:
You said you only plan on racing in the club events and there has been two club races with nice turn outs in the Tag masters class. All the numbers you see on mylaps for that class have been registered in club racing when they signed up for race day. It would be pretty safe to say any number you choose other than what you have seen so far would be fine. At some point we will have a list of numbers registered for the CSC events, yet even then if you happened to choose the same as someone racing CSC there still wouldn’t be any problem as you are not racing that series this year right?
Lets say you picked #6 which is the number I hope to register in CSC, and you went club racing and registered on a race day. Since I have not been to any club races to register #6 you would be the #6 in them events and if I came to race one day, I would just have to change my number for that day. No big deal. I would hope the club event would allow me to just change it to #6d which the D is a SKUSA requirement for the rocky mountain area racers in SKUSA events.
There really is no single number directory for all the different karting orgs. like Club,CRE,CSC,SKUSA, Rotax Max, Tag USA, Stars, generally have a first come first served type policy that when you sign up to race in you will entire a first, second and even third choice of number you want to be and they will confirm if that number hasn’t been registered all ready. So it could be said no matter how many years you have been racing it pays to sign up early.
Sorry if my post complaining about seeing #6 being used in the club events confused you, I jumped the gun while hoping to secure my number for CSC events.
Eddy was nice to change his number in club events even though he didn’t really have to. I think I was just a little disappointed that the karting season had started and the CSC has not organized the registration process yet for this year.
Glad to here you are going to be in the most exciting class of kart racing, you are in for a treat and will have a great time. Don’t miss your first chance to race in any events as you will learn many things in your first few races that will teach you what practice is for. If you can swing it run the CSC events it will give you a good jump start and school you as to what it takes to be fast. Good LuckRodney Ebersole
ParticipantDagnabit, Now you got 6 more than me. 👿 I hope you run the CSC events and give me a chance to get even with ya. 😛
Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantEddy, I should have posted it is “sort of pissing me off”. I was also mistaken as the mylaps had your #6 posted twice and then a 06 was also running. Besides You are right I did not sign up for the club series, yet I do plan on running CSC. It’s not a problem, I can always not use my graphics that I paid $150.00 for and stop at a local home depot and pick up some mail box numbers again like I had to last year. If you are running for the Rotax Grands the #6 may not be the number you want to show up with from Colorado. LOL
Speaking of that, how did the qualifying rotax series race go Saturday morning? Mylaps results?Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantLOL, I was impressed to see 20 guys in the Tag Masters class. I also see that our # organization is pissing me off. Out of the 20 guys 3 are running my #6.
Where is the CSC sign up crap so I can secure my Tag world champ number 6 ? Do I have to change to #1? 👿- AuthorPosts
