    Tony,
Sounds like something may be a little off. Get a magnetic base dial indicator stand and dial on it to find what, where and how much.
The “Get Bent Racing” table will be at The Track the 13th- 17th if you need some help.

make sure the axle isn’t cocked (high on one side and low on the other-cassette bolts). axle bent slightly? No burrs? Middle cassette run loose I hope? Don’t over tighten the top cassette bolt.

If you run a floating sprocketthe wiggle is normal. If not make sure it is aligned with a straight edge with the front motor gear.

Hey freeze how much does it cost to use the “get bent racing” table?

    good luck

I agree with all the other posts, but you may have multiple issues. Something you may want to also check as you told me the other night you may have a brake dragging as one problem. The other may be that your chain sprocket hub may be bent also, which would cause the chain sprocket to wobble. As in the previous post the dial indicator and base will confirm all of the above. Give me a call and we can talk.

Rich, as you know, being a Master and bending things there is a lot of “Depends” involved. 😛 A bare axle out of the kart is $20.00. At the track in the kart axle bend would take twenty and a six pack.

    Freeze,

Are you saying to check the straightness of a whole kart on your jig is $20?

How did you read?…” to check the straightness of a whole kart on your jig is $20?”

So what is so special with your JIG?

give me some PR on this? why should I use it? Rick kind of touted this space age contraption.

Rich, I can give you the reason why I built it then you can judge if it is something sort of special or not.

After last season my chassis had been well used, dear whistles on the bottom, whacked and bent from Vegas, which is also where I saw a chassis table that inspired me to build this one. So if I wanted to race this year I needed a new chassis. In 2007 a new GP8 frame ran $1700.00 . I found another bent frame “cheep” that wasn’t worn on the bottom but now I needed to be able to measure and straighten it for it to be of any use. After many long winter days working in my shop I came up with my jig that allows me to check and straighten my chassis. Then Ricky applied the space age paint on the contraption.
There is no reason you need to use it if you have never ran off coarse or have never hit anything with your kart and know that your kart came as straight as you want it to be from the factory. But if you do wonder if the front and rear axles are true and square, your axle is in an even plain with the frame, if your frame is on a even plain with the proper rake, your spindles are at equal heights, your bearing carriers are square, if neutral pills are neutral, this space age contraption can not only see if it is but it can do something about it. Then again if I decide I don’t want everything straight and square I also have the ability to do that too and change it back.
Well Rich, How did I do? I’m not much of a PR guy and I am still learning how to make money so any advice would be great.
Are you planning on going to “The Track” next week? If so stop by and see what you think.

    Freeze,

that is exactly what I wanted to know! Obviously you got something there. How long does it take to check a chassis? Tires on or off when you check it?

No won’t be there for the CSC, I committed to the club series because of more race laps & less $/lap.

    thanks—rich

We’re back to the “Depends” Rich. The more I work with it the more things I find to check. Like they say time is money. So if somebody is in a hurry I can take less time.

    Rodney,

Thanks for the offer but Joe Hawly came over with a magnetic base dial indicator
thing-a-ma bob and we checked her out.

No problems, guess I’m just pearinoied that my competion is sneaking in to my garage at night and sabatogeing me from locking up last place this year. 😆

    Thanks again

If the competition is trying to mess up your efforts to be the cellar-dweller, wouldn’t they leave your equipment in better condition than they found it??? :loony:
