ParticipantWelcome to the fun Jim!
You can choose any number but #6 .
Just kidding, Most all orgs. CSC/Club/SKUSA/R-Max use a first come first serve system of disorginization. So I guess the best advice I can give you is to sign up early when you want a certain number. As far as local racing goes take a look at what last years numbers were and try to use a different one.January 11, 2008 at 9:00 pm #60789Jim Zeeb
ParticipantSo are numbers unique within a class. Or are they unique across all classes.
Say I want number 456. If someone in the Kid Karts has 456, can I have it since I wont be running that class?
Thanks for being patient with these newbie questions.

ParticipantJim:
Welcome to Karting! Yes, numbers are unique to a class. GENERALLY, when choosing a number, as Freeze said, you try to stay away from last year’s numbers and numbers 1 – 10 are GENERALLY used by those with the appropriate national ranking (‘big kids’…anything goes w/ the little guys). In kid karts, you will see low numbers as little guys choose their age, etc. You do see some guys locally wearing the #’s 1 – 10 but personally, my driving’s not that good and my brovado not that big. 🙂
When the season registration opens (CSC or Club), you will have an opportunity to send in for your number. If you do plan on racing outside of Colorado and you have a duplicate # to someone there (or here for that matter), you will see people (again, generally) throw a 1 in front or put a letter behind the number.
Hope this helps.
See you at the track(s).

ParticipantThe prior discussion on this topic answered all my questions. I even figured out that the little yellow thing on the back to the seat is for. ;>)
Don’t worry, I looked at all the CSC results and the IMI/Track results and the number I’m thinking of was not listed in TaG Masters for any race.
Now I just have to wait for Angie to open up registration.
Thanks for all the help.

InactiveOkay, Rick! :bang :bang
But you are right, I don’t like being run into by a rookie! It usually costs too much. Hopefully I will be running in the top pack this yr. That is my goal.
I think I should get Roman in my kart and give me suggestions or may be you.
Thanks

InactiveCan we take 34?
If not, would anyone object to 34TV?
(I saw a 1ST in the Chili Bowl last weekend.)

ParticipantLOL, I was impressed to see 20 guys in the Tag Masters class. I also see that our # organization is pissing me off. Out of the 20 guys 3 are running my #6.
Where is the CSC sign up crap so I can secure my Tag world champ number 6 ? Do I have to change to #1? 👿April 8, 2008 at 2:49 pm #60800Rick Schmidt

I registered #6 in Tag Masters for the IMI/Track club series going through the normal process. Pre- registered a week in advance for the first race with Ed at The Track, was told that number was available. No big deal to me. If numbers are reserved or being assigned by the CSC, I’ll run any number not taken. 💡
