    Ok Ok Ok,

We will see when it comes time to put up or shut it. Just like the enduo at Grand Junction last year. Everyone was clucking like chickens about how great it was going to be and I think it was about 5 of us that actually sent in our entry fee. I am all for it but I’m not getting all worked up over it until it’s a done deal.

Well Joe. We were sitting there with some pretty well prepped machines and a very capable driver line up. But we checked the weather synopsis and it didn’t look too good. (did you?) Go to Noaa and check the average Colorado temperature in January. It would have been 2 stroke suicide to race in 15 degree weather. But would have been fun to watch the 5 of you try to make it. Or just to watch the 5 of you stand outside for 3 + hours in the weather they had that day. I’ve golfed and repaired frozen pipes in January! It was 75 degrees earlier this week, could have been 5 degrees!

What about making the race in February or early March? And offering Brad some volunteer corner worker rotations from the paddock. Seems pretty risky for him to set aside a full support crew for a questionable race date? Bobby could run on a supply of of warm refreshments but corner workers? Just for us frustrated “winter racers”?

This needs to have some flexibility as Kirk mentioned, or a little more reasonable race date. You can plan your practice days with a day or two notice. But assembling a race takes more.

I’ll put my money where my my mouth is. To whom shall I send this money for registration? Team HARD Kart powered by the DOMINATOR will be there. Watch out for our new polyester jumpsuits, They’re snug. Don’t be mad when your seester is hanging out in our pit.

    Kirk,

Please be very careful with your polyester (girly) driving suits around the Kartworks endurance entry when warming up on the stand! Something bad could happen. See link.

You may end up wishing you had a fire extinguisher where your mouth is instead of your money!

I like Jim’s idea’s of keeping it simple. It will be a matter of survival anyway. We just need to have some flexibility in the date / month. Maybe offer the track a little help in pulling it off. Go out and have some fun. If you commit to a January day. The entries will be last minute. Everyone will wait to see what everyone / the weather is doing anyway. You’ll have a few sticking their chest’s out but won’t / can’t race if it’s too cold.

What do you think? Planning a race in January could be awesome or just talk. Hard to predict.

I am thinking a new pair of designer boots will go alot further, but we’ll see! 😉

    Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Careful. She may be faster than you….then you may end up wearing designer boots while she tears up the kart track! :bang

So sorry to hear the news Ian. I know he’s been sick, but you’re never really ready to loose a parent. I know.

If we can do anything? Let us know.

    Nick,

Build your platform the same height as the kart stand, so you can one man load. I’ve loaded and unloaded many times into the back of a pickup by rolling the kart onto and off of the stand myself. The “kart lift” work well but are expensive. But they seem to work well for this. And you don’t have to buy the power assisted unit.

Jay has a block and tackle in his garage to load his and the boys karts on his triple stand, and can do it by himself. Pretty simple and slick.

Like you said the track usually is not the problem, but at home…

    Terry,

I grew up around the Colorado drag strips. My Dad raced Fuel Altereds. Cdr was my favorite Colorado track for sure. Used to tear around the road course on my mini bike dreaming I was the drivers my Mom took me to see, at the big road races there.

If you have more racing pics of your Dad, you should forward them for posting.

Also, I know someone who remakes the Cdr tee shirts, they make a great gift for old racers. I get more comments on those shirts than any other I’ve worn.

You can sell it with the kart but I think the my laps assignment information stays with the original registered owner.

    Geez jim,

    Got the thinking cap on?

Love it! Give the Csc the money.

Run what you brung. F1 fueling rigs, a small rotary with a pipe so hot you can see through it.

I can run Roman in a shared Tag (Brad can Rodney, Ronnie and Roman run your Ar-50 to give Jim a run?) (Craig will pay for any crash damage)then get him out after his 45 minutes and put him in his new shifter for another 45 minutes. I like it. Actually saving the shifter for later.

We don’t really care what the format is, the drivers who can finesse their equipment will win. Or maybe, whoever has the most fun will win! Maybe getting a little money towards the Karter and Csc and We All Win!.

    Now that’s funny Mike!

In all seriousness, you look like your are down to racing weight and ready to make a fierce attempt to conquer the field this year.

Look forward to racing and hanging out with our friends again next year, but, also glad we’ve got a little break here.

I sold all Romans chassis and am reloading. But if someone with a size 4 seat wants to share a kart and expenses. We would love to participate. If not, I’ll come help tune for someone.

    Mike W.

You may want to contact Brian Robson. He was involved in putting together the ill fated (10 dgrees at the time) Grand Junction enduro. He has been involved with some of the Newcastle and midwest enduros and might save some head aches. He had some rules ready and would probably share.

I stand corrected and have been putting way too much energy all these years, making sure they are all in compliance. Whew.

I’d go out there and give you BOY’S a bare a$$ whoopin, but my wife thinks this neck full of titanium is just to risky. No sense of humor. Gonna have to sick the kid on ya!

And I would still do the same thing with Roman racing. $20 either way. Hell, I usually share $150 worth of my beer cooler around! Whats $20 to make it more interesting?
