ParticipantWe held the USKGP here at Miller Motorsports Park the last weekend of August, on our 3 mile Outer loop. 360 entries 30+ 250 Super Karts. We had a handful of our racers that ran our Sprit race Saturday run the big track Sunday and had a ball.
The drafting battles/packs were amazing. We had 0 safety issues with the karts running on the big track.
the 2010 date for the USKGP is August 27-29th and if you really want a full weekend you can also run round 7 of the Utah State Championship on Saturday.Mitch Wright
ParticipantStacy,
Give me a call and we will see what might make sense for GJMS and MMP racers.

ParticipantRichard,
I hope that you and your team will have the time in your schedule to come and race with us.
Besides the great racing we have a fun party planned at the end of the day Saturday to show off our new facility.Check out the latest construction update:

ParticipantI had not thought of the 2nd class, yes the entry fee for the second class same driver will be $320.00 that includes entry, 1 set of tires, 5 gallons of fuel and oil.

ParticipantRich,
Barry charges by the hour for Dyno time which is the norm for dyno service. Give Barry a call for his rates. I was there all day because I was trying different port timing, ingnition, jetting, needles, atomizers, mufflers and so on. not being a expert but would think with a Rotax you could try a lot in a few hours. To save yourself time you need talk Barry to come up with a plan of attack before you set up to make runs.
We made 3 or 4 baseline runs so we had a good baseline. Then would make atleast 3 runs for every change to make sure we would see good numbers and they repeted. In all we made 65 runs because I had a very long list of things I wanted to try. at the end we went back to the baseline to confrim were we started and what we learned.
What is interesting is what I thought would make a big + or minus change in some case would make not much difference at all and what I thought a minor change would pick up a horsepower or more. To me what was more important than a big peak hp number was how much we improved the performance below the curve which improves drivablity and the way the engine pulls off the corner.
For me what I learned was worth twice the price, plus I had a lot of fun.Mitch Wright
ParticipantInteresting concept

ParticipantScott,
Great observations and points.

ParticipantThank you all for the kind words, I will look forward to you coming over to race at Miller Motorsports Park if you get the opportunity, it truly is a first class facility.
Check ot the web site millermotorsportspark.comWe are looking forward to our new adventure but will miss Colorado, thank goodness we have a vacation home in Frisco so we will have to come back.
BTW Lynda and I will not actually be moving until June so I am going to do my best to get one last race in here in Colorado.Mitch Wright
ParticipantI have always seen being in post race tech/tear down as a badge of honor.
We have found that once the racer understands that post race tech is likely they learn to expect it and be ready to get it done in a timely manor.Just like anything else the tech staff having a plan for the race day (what classes and they want to look at) and changing it up week in and week out has proven effective.

ParticipantFYI In Canada the biggest classes are 4/ 160 and 200 Honda classes.
I can’t remember where but a club/s run both Honda and Briggs engines in the same classes, The Hondas out number the Briggs 3 to 1 after 2 seasons.Mitch Wright
ParticipantStacy maybe that is the difference between stock and hot rodded.
I like your classes, how would would you seal the engines?
The other question I have is what is stock? as long as there are specs to tech the to ( most maunfactures have a + or – tolerance a builder can maximize or minimize and still be stock)
We have Showroom stock classes and there are stock and then there is STOCK. Someone has to determain what that is.
Do we need 4 125 classes? Stock, Heavy Moto and ICC and Light Moto ICC. Stock Moto why just Honda and the parts are now 7 years out of production why not Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki?
I think your leaving out the 4/ Animal/WF WF or similar is a cheap way to start Can the run with the Comers in JR whatever? On the club side could a guy with a can Yamaha run with the 4/mods?

ParticipantI have had my ICC engine for 4 years now and have been extremely happy with it and it has been very dependable.
Running cost to date for me has been no more than the mild Hondas that I ran since 1989.
The engine is stock, I have replaced the bottom end bearings twice and timed out the rod once. I find the engine to be fun to tune and rewarding to drive.
Is it as fast as a super tuned engine? I am sure it is not but when I have been able to race it runs well and don’t feel I am getting beat power wise.
I can run times that are competitive for G1 when out testing. I find that lack of race seat time is more of a factor for me racing competitive not the engine.I know a lot of recreational racers that have had great experiences with there ICC engines.
Is see no reason not to run Moto and ICC engine together it done quit sucessfully at club events out side of Colorado. I would perfer to finish 10th in a race with 20 racers than 1st in a race with 5. My personal experiance has been when racing in big fields my skill level improves.
