I’ll try anything Rick. Do you have a contact number for him? If so, can you PM it to me? I missed you a couple of weeks back when I tried to give you a call, but I still have your number. If it’s okay with you I’ll try to get in touch with you sometime this week in the evenings. I still work 3rds, saves on child care, so it’s hard for me to get in touch with regular people sometimes. Ohh and thanks to you, Curt, and Kirk for reviving this thread. It really needed it and it seems a thread really gets going when you three get involved.

I think it would be really sad not to have the opportunity to drive on a great circuit so close to home. It is just what the doctor ordered for so many racers here in Colorado. I heard a lot of mumblings from Scca racers with the choice of Lajunta or Pueblo when we had some retty good choices in the past.

Don’t know how many racers were around to see the Sprint Karts run 2nd Creek, but it was a very cool venue and very well attended events. It was just too small for road racing karts, (we used to shake down my road race karts there) but now there is a very good facility that may not get enough support from karters to be able to utilize? Seems crazy?

Seems like the initial efforts to get sprint karts out there did not get much traction. I really don’t think one or a few people are going to be able to swing enough weight to get the job done and the Sprint racing crowd does not seem to have the strength it did in the recent past. Maybe Bernie could help us? It would be cool to have a big Road Race here in the state for the karting crowd.

We held the USKGP here at Miller Motorsports Park the last weekend of August, on our 3 mile Outer loop. 360 entries 30+ 250 Super Karts. We had a handful of our racers that ran our Sprit race Saturday run the big track Sunday and had a ball.
The drafting battles/packs were amazing. We had 0 safety issues with the karts running on the big track.
the 2010 date for the USKGP is August 27-29th and if you really want a full weekend you can also run round 7 of the Utah State Championship on Saturday.

I’ve got emails out to Bernie Adamson w/ USKGP and Kevin Williams with WKA. No responses yet. If anybody has any other other ideas of who to contact or can contact somebody themselves and put them in touch with me that would be great. I don’t want to make the powers that be at HPR wait too long, but I’m certainly not giving up either.

And BTW, my short lived racing “program” will be put on hold next year. We’re now expecting our 2nd child. Hopefully by the time Page (3) and this one are ready to race I’ll know what the hell is going on. :loony:
