my guess is that they will probably combine them, novice and S2
as long as their not with pro, i am fine with that

Man I wished i could have come, but it looks like yesterday was the better day for testing, so we did that, and had great success, if there is another seminar on whatever, i will probably go.

unfortunatly, it looks more and more likely that i will not be able to make this one, i will be testing the shifter for the first time in co, so if anyone could send me some transcrpts or notes, i would be gratefull

The aspen race, highly unlikley, as is people overthere would not like to smell the 2 stroke oil in the morning from their castles 🙄 . The noise too would be an issue. But snowmass, that could easily occur as is its out a little further out and less densely populated (as of the last time i was there) There was a Super Motard Race at Copper this year, couldnt one weekend be for bikes, the next for karts

has the “group” come up with a decision regarding the use of carburetors in ICC’s.

1 spec tire for each class good idea
TaG classes (both) MG Yellow (its a good tire that costs only $150)
80cc Shifter (per SKUSA for 04, YHB or YHC)
125cc PRO (YHB, or unless SKUSA decides somthing different)
    S2 (YHC)
    G1 (YHB or Per SKUSA)
Novice (MG Yellow, for cost resons)
JR 1, JR2, 60cc novice, and all the briggs sr classes (MG YELLOW)
Kid Karts (do they make MG Yellows for these sizes)

Just personal opinions, but it could help

    Colorado Sprint Championship Info/Schedule

January 20, 2004 (Englewood, CO) – The Colorado Sprint Championship (CSC) presented by Shockwave Karting recently announced its schedule for 2004. Like last year, the series will feature 7 races, two at each of the major tracks in Colorado and a grand finale at Steamboat Springs on a temporary circuit. The dates are:

April 4 – Action Karting at Bandimere
May 16 – Grand Junction Motor Speedway
    June 13 – IMI
July 4 – Grand Junction Motor Speedway
August 8 – Action Karting at Bandimere
    August 29 – IMI
    September 11/12 – Steamboat Springs

The four venues offer a very different challenge for racers. The Bandimere track is a storied facility and home to the NHRA Mile High Nationals. It is more of a traditional track, narrow and very technical. That is not to say the owners have not been making improvements. Racers will find several improvements this year. Sections of the track will be either resurfaced or ground to improve the racing surface. A new kart shop has been built and the storage containers have been moved. The end result is a greatly improved track and paddock area.

Grand Junction Motor Speedway has been given a date on the SKUSA Pro Tour for May 21/23. The CSC is holding an event the weekend before to give those national teams a chance to sample the track under race conditions. Located adjacent to I-70, the track is only a short 5 minute drive from the many fine hotels and motels of Grand Junction. New this year is a kart shop/scoring tower complete with tech rooms and meeting rooms. The pit area has been expanded and improved.

IMI is located just north of Denver in Dacono, this track continues a rich tradition of great racing. As this track was one of the very first to be designed for shifter karts, it is long and wide to accommodate the speed of shifters. At just under 1 mile long, it continues to draw very large crowds for its club program and the CSC races held there should be the biggest events of the season. It continues to set the standard for karting in Colorado.

The finale at Steamboat Springs should be another magical event. In its third year, the Steamboat Springs GP has enjoyed phenomenal growth and this year will be the best version yet. With more sponsors and increased organization and support from the community, this event is quickly becoming the premier event of the season in the Rocky Mountain west. A temporary circuit in the lower parking lot of the ski resort, this event is located base of one of the finest ski resorts in the country and in the heart of Ski Town USA.

The CSC will feature 12 classes, from 125 Pro shifters to kid karts. The two adult 4 cycle classes will be combined into one class and there will be an S2 class added for 125 shifters. There will also be some minor adjustments to weight packages to help the competitiveness of some engine packages. We will be following SKUSA rules for 125 shifters and TaG karts and WKA rules for clutch karts. We will make some local modifications to the rules to account for the increased altitude.

    The classes are:

    Pro 125 Shifter
    S2, 125 Shifter
    Novice 125 Shifter
    Senior/Heavy 125 Shifter
    Junior 80 Shifter
    60 Novice Shifter
    Senior 4 cycle
    Junior II
    Junior I
    Kid karts
    TaG Senior
    TaG Junior

For more information, contact Doug Welch at Shockwave Karting (303) 781-7829. The most up to date information on the series can be found on the internet at http://www.thecoloradokarter.com

Add 3 more votes for a drop, me, mom, dad. Here is the major issue, the 29tjh of august, IMI, the week after, Rock Island, the following week, steamboat, the following week, World finals, most people running the PMT will want to be at OMC for the steamboat weekend, so a drop of at least 1 race in the season is logical.

Oh defintly there is a large differance between any of the icc’s, from what I have found out by speaking to Rodney at Champion in Norman, a TM K9 has 38hp out of the box on the chassis dyno, so it will be down a few compared to most engine dynos, when they get the building done, and all the work associated, its about 42 on the same dyno. I cannot speak for a Pavesi or a CRS or anything else out there (Vortex, VM, Seven….) But perhaps doug can fill us in on the CRS, and John has already shown us that the SGM gets 37 out of the box. It will be an interesting set of races this year, and the first GJ race may have a surpirse in the pro class (not rudolph or wilson, or any of them). We will see

I agree with Kyle, the weight should be the same, if the TaG’s are going to be at that weight, the shifters might as well too. not going to be easy to drop pounds when you do pushups for a grade 😡 this is still a state series, it should accomodate other drivers, since the scales at each track are so %$#@#$ up, it is only a good thing for some, and for doug, i know a good chriropracter, Just kidding, i know how it feels, ever try to carry chad corkens leopard, DO NOT EVEN GET CLOSE

Unfortunatly, chaz is right, CSC at CRE is damn near immposible for a few years, CRE is great, nice track, people (to us, very generous) and racing, but as chaz said, at the current, it seems too unlikely to be something to look forward to. I would like it, but read the past posts on this and EKN, and unfourtunatly you will know why.

    Mr. Stevens,
A 30mm carbed ICC is plenty competitive with motos, i did some reasearch about ICC’s in 03
IMI #1 AJ won with a BIG carb
GJ2 Novice class had Micheal Mcgrath win, not sure if it was a FC carb or not
Aj also was close to bobby for a while in his CRS
Bandimere 1. Micheal got 2nd in novice, Galegor got 4th in a 30 mm pavesi
IMI #2 Bailey 2nd TM (not sure if it had a 30mm or not)
    In novice, mcgrath got 2nd
Bandimere 2, Bailey 2nd with lap record in a 30mm
in novice, galegor got the 2nd fastest lap with a 30mm, i belive he retired for a motor overheating?????? (let me know on that one)
SSGP Bobby won with a FC basically, ryan 2nd (after sam got a bag on his tires and AJ avoided him, both bailey and AJ had 30mm, with the 2nd fastest lap

if i had any info wrong, correct me please
I want to have our ICC as a CIK spec, thats why its ICC, not SICC or FC, a 30mm is fine, no need to bolt on a 39, i hope the rules are for CIK spec for icc’s for this reason alone.
