has the “group” come up with a decision regarding the use of carburetors in ICC’s.

1 spec tire for each class good idea
TaG classes (both) MG Yellow (its a good tire that costs only $150)
80cc Shifter (per SKUSA for 04, YHB or YHC)
125cc PRO (YHB, or unless SKUSA decides somthing different)
    S2 (YHC)
    G1 (YHB or Per SKUSA)
Novice (MG Yellow, for cost resons)
JR 1, JR2, 60cc novice, and all the briggs sr classes (MG YELLOW)
Kid Karts (do they make MG Yellows for these sizes)

Just personal opinions, but it could help

As far as the 2004 SKUSA rules, we don’t know what they are yet. But we do know there will be few changes for this year. We had to pick somebodies rules and since SKUSA lets anyone have them through downloading, it looked like they will be the best to follow. Once we see them, (I hope its soon) we can then decide if we need to modify them for our local condidtions or not.

As far as tires go, in the long run, a spec tire saves a racer money in that you don’t have to test each tire brand to find the “best”. And what works at Bandimere may not work as well at IMI. So if you really want to win the brass nut, you will test several tire compounds to determine the best. A spec tire removes one expensive variable to test.

But I do understand that for many racers, they buy tires based purely on costs. If a set of MG’s are 25$ cheaper than B’stones, then they feel they just saved $25 bucks. But each tire requires a different setup. And for the racers that run a series that has a spec tire, like SKUSA always has been and Stars will be, it means more testing.

But I also understand that each dealer, wants to sell tires. And not every dealer can sell the same tires. Our dealers have to be able to make a buck so we end up with open tires. I do like the idea of a spec tire for a particular class. It solves a couple of the problems I mentioned and still lets everyone sell the brand they are dealing. The B’stones are not the best, but if everyone is on the same rotten tires, then its even.

Go Stacy a street race in GJ or Aspen sounds fantastic for 2005, if you can do it. 😀 8) 🙂 😉

Has to be some sponsors in both towns.

The aspen race, highly unlikley, as is people overthere would not like to smell the 2 stroke oil in the morning from their castles 🙄 . The noise too would be an issue. But snowmass, that could easily occur as is its out a little further out and less densely populated (as of the last time i was there) There was a Super Motard Race at Copper this year, couldnt one weekend be for bikes, the next for karts

I disagree, I think an open tire rule but with a certain durometer rating would be a better way to go as far as the TAG classes are concerned. Speaking for myself and many other rotaxians i have spoken with that want to run both an RMC series as well as some CSC races a spec tire rule would cause some serious issues if there was in fact a spec tire and it was not the B-stone. I think that having an open rule could potentially lead to a bigger classes as people (rotaxians in particular) would not be forced to buy different tires to run CSC races. I say let people run what they are used to, so we don’t have to spend more of our race budget buying different tires to practice and race on when the systen used last season seams to work just fine.

Marc and Rich, One of our very close friends is the Head fo Snowmass for Aspen Ski Corp. He is an awesome guy and a total Motor Head. He comes down to the track in GJ and has sent his staff doen for a corporate race deal. Of course he will have to convince alot of people to go along with it. Snowmass does host the X Games this week with 2 strokes running all over the place. We will keep pursuing both and see what happens.

I could see a spec tire in the pro classes, like in the past. The great thing about an open tire rule, or durometer rule is that in the budget classes, that don’t wear the tires out as fast, can get many take-offs from the pro classes that still have some life in them. It worked for me last year, as I only bought one set of new tires, all the rest were used. Please don’t make us use some tire that no other class uses just because they are cheeper. My cheap buddies and I would have to buy new then.
Doug I knew neither one of us could guess how many more racers there would be if there was a drop. My point is if there isn’t a drop the number of racers will not increase from day one. Yes there is exception to it all, yet no drop is only a benifit to the existing SCS racers, and in no way does it fit the all enclusive theam of SCS. Yes we do it to have fun, so whats the point or reasoning behind not having a drop?
Street races are just a good place to tear up equipment and get hurt.
Sure I love/hate them and will do them, yet it would be a good way to end all the fun.[/u]

As for the senior class keep the tire rule the same as lasy year! it worked!

as for the other classes, I don’t have a clue because I don’t run other classes!

let’s speak for the class that you will run.
