InactiveNot that anything I say around here carries any weight, merit or relevance…..
^ has a misguided, perverse and utterly baseless facination with Ayrton Senna.

Participant^^ Double True
at least that senna had balls, unlike the current crop of drivers who use computer guided everything, shifting assistance, traction controll, and basically sit in the car, where as 20 years ago, the car was a big hunk of alluminum and some carbon fiber (on the mclaren and the lotus) and a big engine and manual gear box
need i even mention what i think about NASCAR drivers 😈
Chaz, i take it humerously, but never say that near a Brazillian person unless you have a serious death wish

ParticipantSome of you were still in diapers when the true age of driving was in formula one. Check out a race in the late 70’s and the 80’s when PASSING was occuring on a regular race basis (not just when a car was in the pits)
Here are a few names that still resonate awe to many.
Villenueve (Sr); see his qualifying at monaco in the wet when he was 2.5 seconds quicker than the next driver
Prost; sooo smooth he looked like he was slower till you looked at his times!
Mansell; check out his pass on Berger at parabolica at Mexico (alas a race no longer run)January 26, 2004 at 8:39 pm #45833Marc Elliott
Participantseen it on tape, truly a gone age
