Unfortunately, this topic feels a bit like this sometimes…
It sucks. I wish we could all play nice. What blows my mind is that I bet you’d be hard pressed to find a single racer here that wouldn’t be in favor of a state series. And yet, here we are. Talking about this…again. I just don’t see how having potentially 1/4 of the racing population at your races (instead of all of it) is a good thing. Totally agree with everything Cris said.
I don’t blame you, Stan, for the geographic one-sidedness. It sucks for the Denver racers, but it’s the same game we’ve been playing for the last 4-5 years. Nothing really has changed. We have the potential for something amazing, but for whatever reason not everyone will play…its just a damn shame. But hey, i’m used to it by now! :loony: Personally, I just can’t afford to race 3 doubleheader weekends on the western slope in one season, there are many who can and that’s great for them! Now that’s a big shame too, because GJMS and Miller are both awesome places to race. SKUSA is great, the local programs are great, I just wish i could race them all.
I applaud you for being so open and trying to bring everyone together! The fact that you’re allowing Rotax options is great, Rotax is huge out here, it can only be good for the RMPKC. Best of luck, hope I can make at least one RMPKC race this season!
Haha, same here, Rod. Not sure how many (if any) I can make with them all on the western slope… 😕
Seriously! A national championship is no joke, especially in a class thats as mega competitive as S2! Congrats Sabre, Stacey, and everyone else involved! Looking forward to cheering you on in S1 next year!

Diffey, Hobbs, Matchett will call the races. Varsha still has a contract with SPEED/Fox, but hopefully he comes on after that expires. Hopefully they’ll pick up Buxton, too!
Really sad news. I remember meeting Rusty very early in my days as a karter at the Bandimere CSC race. He was always around, great guy. RIP.
Haha, dumb design on Rotaxs part. Plastic gears? Really?! I had that exact thing happen on an engine of mine, I believe that Rotax has a retrofit kit for it that updates to steel gears.

Anyways, it sucks the SNats conflicts with the USGP…i’m sure Bernie and Tom can work something out, especially since MSC had fun when he came out in ’09! 😆
I agree it sucks, but if NBC Sports gets the nod (that’s the hot rumor) it might not be all bad, they do a pretty fine job with IndyCar (IMO). The other rumor i’ve heard is that whomever picks up the broadcast rights here in the states might just show the SKY F1 feed from the UK – which if you haven’t seen before, is simply phenomenal.
It still sucks that they’re breaking up the band. I love Varsha/Hobbs/Matchett/Buxton, and I hope we see them back together soon! The other thing that sucks is that SPEED may be going away entirely, Fox wants to morph it into an ESPN-style network.
Will Buxton has a blog (a damn good one, too), and he wrote a bit about this whole thing, it’s worth a read. If you havent heard, nobody told Will what was happening…he found out that he was losing his job via Twitter (classy, Fox :bang )
