ParticipantIn a sealed drum, id imagine that it would keep for quite a while (like, a really long while). Nothing to ad impurities and no exposure to atmosphere. When i’m storing fuel for an extended period of time (because i didnt burn it up at the track 😯 ), i put some StaBil in it, and that works great! Kart fires up right away and runs fine. 8)

ParticipantSomeone eat some Pizza and drink a few Beers for me…i’m not gonna be able to make it. 🙁

ParticipantOoh, yeah, Tom brings up a good point. I’d imagine that the ability to trail brake would lend itself better to the Rotax’s powerband (able to keep the revs up). Course i’ve never driven a Rotax with FWB, but it makes some sense to me….

ParticipantWhile i love the challenge that having rear brakes only provides, and the fun driving style that it offers (being able to rotate the kart with a stab of the pedal 8) ), it’s hard to argue against the safety benefits that FWB offer. I had my brakes fail once when i was practicing at Bandi a year ago at widowmaker (thankfully i just spun off into the dirt), and very nearly at the GGP (leaking caliper). Both were pretty scary! 😯
I wouldnt argue against FWB in TaG, for sure. If we do allow it, i’d have to scrape up a couple hundred extra, but that’s not a huge deal if it helps me avoid a much larger hospital bill!
Oh, and if anyone wants a convincing reason to keep Rear brakes only, i offer this link: http://www.karting1.co.uk/karting-lockups.htm 8)

Here is the questions I have:
1) Why did the Rotax weight get increased 10lbs and the Leopard weight stay the same? The leopard was either superior or even at all tracks
Yeah, what gives?! I certainly don’t like that… 😕

ParticipantI’m with Joe on that one. Plus i’ve got a big bottle of Motul that i’ve gotta use up! 😉

ParticipantWell, well, well, we meet again, Graeme. Nice to see another Porsche Club guy step over to the dark side. As you’ve probably discovered by now, these karts are a bit quicker ’round the bends than your Boxster. 8)
Glad to see you made the jump! Now, what kind of kart/engine did you buy yourself? Lookin’ forward to seeing you at the track!

ParticipantNever been to CRE, always wanted to go, heard good things about the track. Personally, i’d love to race there. I thoroughly enjoyed the GGP, it was a great event, and I really like the idea of a temp track to sort of highlight the season (sort of like our own Long Beach GP, right?). But, I’d agree that the CSC needs to go to CRE more than a temp track.
What about rotating in a temp event every other year, or something like that? Just a thought…

ParticipantExcellent article, and on the SpeedTv.com homepage, too! Just the kind of exposure that karting needs in the US. 😀

ParticipantSo, what kind of dress does this event entail? Just casual, or should I wear my suit?
…racing suit that is. 😉
