Teams are all full with players. Still need some $$$$ sent to me. Make checks payable to Haymaker Golf Course. Need by Friday!!!

    Mikey,
Give me a Real Team Name. I don’t think Crackheads represents you four or The Colorado Karting community. How about “The Spectators”?

    Tom,
LaQuinta has some great deals and nice rooms, pool… We stayed there last year when the Doubletree got filled up and only had smoker rooms.

The night life is downsized however.

    Ellee,
Your post about Chelsea should have gone along with the other thread on tear downs, not here on the 20 lap topic thread.

Chelsea is driving her pretty rear end off and should be congradulated at the end of the year with Rookie honors @ IMI. I would hate to be one of the many boys behind her getting waxed every week.

I will say this in defense of Dennis and the CSC. Every race this year, and every top three motors have been torn down. I have not heard the word cheater used as a motive for these tear downs. It’s what needs to be done to keep the field level in all classes. I am happy Dennis is doing what he is doing. I’m just pissed he has not had the opportunity to tear us down yet. Were getting closer every race however.

BTW. I was happy to hear your name being announced at the trophy presentation Sunday also. Congratulations Girl!!!! Tell your old man to get some sleep. His night job of sprinter tuning is wearing him out.

You guys want to cut down your laps with only Steamboat and Bandi left on the schedule? 20 laps at these two tracks is like 12 at IMI or GJ.

I would watch out what you ask for.

    CSC,
If the TAG guys want less laps, we will take more in our class.

There is only one Birel dealer in town. Did you call them?

It looks as if the corporate $$$$ has bucked up this year and we will not be having a Colorado Karter Kart Race at the Mini Grand Prix.

I spoke with Jim this weekend and he has asked me to relay the word.

With too many companies willing to pay as much as $1,500.00 per hour to the Centrix Grand Prix of Denver, we will need to take a back seat. Centrix has sold all of the alloted time slots this year. Along with the Celebrity Mini Grand Prix, Champ Car Team Challenge, and many other special events, it looks like The Track of Centennial staff will have their hands full.

This is your lucky day Edwards. Now you can go back to the beer diet and get some sleep tonight. You don’t have to worry about loosing to some fat old cigar smoking ass this year.

Maybe we can persuade Jim to roll the rentals out at Steamboat this year and duke it out there. Just a thought.

    Bump.

We now have a list of 14 names. There is room for 24 players, or 6 teams.

Keep letting me know who wants to play in this and we will have some more information next week. :bb

We have some sticks amongst us, so get out and practice.

    Angie,
I am sorry for calling you a back marker, and Doug an old man, and Mikey Edwards slow…. I guess this years race will be the tell all of who’s who in the Colorado Karting Community.
Having said that, I did speak with the Team Doghouse Skipper and Company last week about this years event. As it stands today, and things will change, this is what we have:

Friday, 8-12-05 from 12 – 4 pm the Mini Grand Prix Track will be available for this years event.

Each paid entry fee will come with two general admission tickets to the Denver Grand Prix on Friday, and all the track time you can squeeze in during qualifing sessions. (12 to 3)

Each time out onto The Track you will be timed on the scoring system. Your fastest lap will be how will be lined up for your heat race.

We will be qualifing from 12:00 – 3:00 and running heat races from 3:00 – 3:30. Finals will be from 3:30 – 4:00.

Final race or races will be determined by participation. IE: If we get a full field of ladies, this will be a race. Full field of tuners (non racers), this will be a race. Full field of existing or past racers, this will be a race and so on.

It’s really going to be left up to lap times, number of participants, scheduled time allotment, weather….. Like I said, things will change as we get closer to the date and time Jim has set up for us.

The cost has yet to be set. I expect to see a post by The Track at Centennial to determine the remainder of information I have not mentioned. At IMI last Sunday I was approached by at least 10 people interested in being part of this event this year. So stay tuned to this thread for more information.

PS: You sure were friendly to me last Sunday with doughnuts, parts, pit spot and just plain old fun for being so mad at me. 😉

We ran a 24-1 ratio in the 80 class with castor oil. Anything greater than that has a tendency to foul the plug, however, with the temp’s being in the high 90’s Tim’s ratio may work better for bottom end lube on test and tune days.
On race day with fuel being one of the tech issues, 24:1 would be in line with the rest of the class, and the motor will bark like a mean dog.

    Get er done boys.
Count me in for another stellar tuner race. As long as Rich Thompson is retired from karting I have a fighters chance. I know I can kick Edwards butt, and Angie was a back marker before she put her helmut on last year. The rest of the tuners are just a bunch of talkers like Welch, Ray, Reed, Lewis, Doman, Courter, and just about every other old man who thinks he/she can drive.

Jim, do I need to talk more smack, or do we have a full field yet?

    Rich,
Sounds like parking and space is going to ba an issue. Just an idea, Why don’t you or someone set up a rental kart race for Colorado Karters, Kid Karters, Tuners, TAG Racers, Shifter Racers….
Use the equipmet that will be down there, bring your own helmut and suit and sweet talk Jim into slotting time that would show off the talent of drivers we have in this city. Hell, he may even buck up for a trophy or two.
You and Jansen might even finish a race under full power if you were to drive the Sodi Rentals. 😀

    Curt
