ParticipantVP fuels.
The spec fuels are MS98, C12, and MS93. Oils are either RC3 (Castor) or RS7 (Synthetic). I will post again with prices.

ParticipantYes, just write it in on the SKUSA form. Making a whole new form to add the other classes wasn’t done for this year.

ParticipantThe Mini Max rules are going to mirror the Rotax Max Challenge rules, with very few changes – tires is the obvious. The large rear bumper will be required. What issues are you waiting out? What are the safety questions that have not been answered? Are they class specific or general procedure type of things?
SKUSA is providing us with a rulebook, it can be downloaded off of their site – and when you become a member you will get a copy. You will also get the additional book of rules unique to our region in a supplement, also provided by SKUSA. General race procedures are covered in the SKUSA book, technical details are there for all but three of the classes. SKUSA and the CSC are working together to make sure the others are written to fit what we have been running or want to run.
Hope that helps, sorry if I am not covering something you have asked about.

ParticipantDon,
I am going to say that you should all send in your memberships, I can hold off submitting the SKUSA part until we have enough for the class… that way we aren’t asking for money back from SKUSA after membership cards, rulebooks, etc. have been sent out by them.As for how it works with not running all of the races, it is like this. If you are an IMI club racer, you won’t have to join CSC or SKUSA, but will have a slightly higher (by $15) entry fee on the CSC race days at IMI. You won’t get points for the CSC/SKUSA. There will be a one day membership fee if you go to an event away from your home track. I will get the details of that up here soon.

ParticipantYes. It would be much easier for all involved if you become a member in advance if you plan on racing the series. Pre registering for each event is going to be helpful, as well. Saves everyone time on race day.
thanks

ParticipantThe CSC is not making any exceptions to the SKUSA rules for the K80s, including the weight at 225 lbs.
I tried to make it clear that the CSC will be looking at the safety factor first.
There are changes to the K80 from the way we ran them last year, which we know will slow them down. The animals will be running very close to last year’s rules. The Mini Max is a new class for us. Not having data to make these decisions, it was posted that these three may run together. Actually, it did say they would run together unless we had reason to seperate them. This was stated for those who may have considered running more than one of these classes, they needed to know that it was a possibility, before spending lots of money on a class they may not get to run.
It would also help if everyone would get their membership forms in, so we have a true gauge of class sizes.

ParticipantWell, it won’t be suggested. As a matter of fact, we will be encouraging preregistration for all of the events. We will have to have an idea in advance of the amount of spec fuel needed, and it will be very helpful to know what our class numbers are looking like.

ParticipantSnowman, are you talking about the number plates, or the “X”s ? The number plates, backgrounds and numbers are available at IMI. I am sure that the other tracks and/or shops have them, too.

Participantpatience! I am working on it…. Only so many hours in the day.
Those TAG rules are in the SKUSA book, which can be downloaded from their site at…..
http://www.superkartsusa.com/downloads.asp
Also, members will get a hardcopy of the SKUSA rules, including a supplement of local option stuff for our region.
thanks,

ParticipantRon,
Good questions. The safety issue of the K80s being much slower is something we are going to have to address. We are trying to get more information on the number of entries in each class to help us determine the best course of action. It may not be decided until the first race day – as it depends on lap times and number of entries. Anyway, I don’t think the answer will be to make the K80s faster, as it is a national set of rules for SKUSA. This is the way they run at Stars and WKA (the rules are verbatim IKF).
Hope that helps.

ParticipantMike, you beat me to it. Check the home page. Gotta give credit where credit is due. Maybe I should hire you as a reporter (the pay sucks though!)

ParticipantSteve,
I am going to answer this one for Rusty, as I am working on this right now. The rules for the Mini Max will mirror Rotax Max Challenge rules. The official rendition of the rules will be out this week, but like I said, they should be the same as RMax Challenge rules. As for the line up on race day, etc. It will go by class and then time. If the Animals have the fastest qualifying times, they will start up front. The Mini Max is a new class for us, and the K80s are going back to a stock configuration, so we know there is going to be a big difference in times. It all comes down to what is safest, first. After that, how can we group the classes with the closest lap times on the track to get through the day best.
I understand the question of why extra safety equipment would be required for the Mini Max, yet possibly not for other classes on the track at the same time. This is something that we are discussing now, as well.
Thank you for your patience.- AuthorPosts
