ParticipantGreg – the CSC and all of the tracks that are involved are ready to welcome the Briggs Mod and Jr 1 Animals with open arms. Now, where are all the membership forms? You guys are missing a chance to win a set of tires!

I just really don’t understand the big problem, from some of those in control, with the 4 strokes. It’s a real engine, that turns real lap times, that burns fuel and oil, THAT SOME RACERS WANT. I’ve been told, to my face, that they don’t belong here, and should never be allowed in the CSC. Some of the “rumors” have talked of a few of the track owners lobbying to keep them out. Wanting rules changes just to eliminate the Briggs.
Russ, I don’t get this at all. There was some disagreements last year about the Briggs being in the CSC, but it really wasn’t because the track owners wanted them out – or not that I know of. I think this “us and them” thing with 4cycles vs everyone else has been blown out of proportion.
My opinion — oh, no…. is that without the Animals, we are eliminating a whole portion of our perspective new racers. Some may want a less expensive way to try out the sport before moving on to a TaG or shifer. Others might prefer to go the 4cycle route and still spend gobs of money tinkering on them! But as long as we have enough to fill a class, why not show the people one more aspect of the diverse world of karting! It would be hard not to see the fun those Briggs Mod guys have at the races, too! That has to be a good thing for the sport in general.angie

ParticipantRuss,
I thought the Junior 1 Animal rules were pretty well decided, and are going to be the ones that Don worked so hard on. I also thought that they are what you ran to last year, AND that they do sync with WKA. I have heard no rumors of any major changes. You might want to email me with any information that you think the CSC should consider. The one thing that was still up in the air for the Jr1 Animals was the fuel, and that has been settled – No U4. At this point you will have the same three options as every other class (Briggs Mod excepted) and that is MS93, MS98, or C-12.As for schedule changes, I haven’t heard a thing. I think it is too late to be changing the schedule around. I know some aren’t thrilled with it. We did add the extra drop, to in a sense, only add one more race to the schedule.
that is what I know.
Freeze, behave yourself! 😳
Brian, yes, we will be enforcing the rear plate color – I don’t know what that penalty will be.
Angie MacEwen
ParticipantYes, we will implement the rear number plate colors. It really helps everyone, on and off track, to see who is racing who.

ParticipantFreeze,
The membership form says that you WILL know and abide by the rules, not that you have to before signing. There will be a rule book, and as discussed at the meeting, the rules are not going to be any different than last year in most classes.I know that you have been vocal about the motos and ICCs running together, and they are again this year. Pro 125, Novice 125, and Masters 125 will all field ICCs and Motos.
I guess until the rule book is printed and mailed, people should go ahead and voice their opinions on what worked or didn’t work last year. It will do more good to get it out in the open for discussion now, rather than waiting until you see it in print to bash it. Like I mentioned, not a lot of major changes… more like tweaking things here and there.
Oh, and when the rules, and schedules are done…then they will be made available. Asking over and over for it on the forum certainly isn’t going to get it done any sooner. :sun:

ParticipantDon, I will post a list later today.
On the fees, let me double check and then will post.Angie

ParticipantSteve,
I am glad that you found something for you and your kids to enjoy together, and I hope it all works out. I wouldn?t be bashing the karters too bad, as it looks like you will be sharing track time with them at IMI on club race dates (Not on CSC dates, though- per Brad, even though I see the calendar on the mini cup site still shows those dates as races).Racers get worked up this time of year, probably not just karters. Everyone is anxious to get back to racing, and the ?silly season? keeps everyone occupied in the meantime. It would probably be worse here on the forum, if the weather wasn?t being so cooperative this winter ? allowing some test and tune time!
By the way, how old are your kid(s)?
good luck to you, and remember to have fun!

ParticipantSo guys, what would you suggest? What would the “ideal” series be for you?
Steamboat was not willing to work on the existing lot, although they will have a new place for us to set up in a couple of years. In the meantime, Greeley is prepared to give us ALOT of support. With the new track in the state being on this side of the hill, too, I can see where it would be a strain on the racer living on the Western Slope. That is all stating the obvious, yet not giving any solution.
ideas??

ParticipantJoe, well so much for trying to be original 😕
And I would be careful letting folks here know you are a Californian! (I was also born there)
